I came from CA and I’ve gone to the Golden Corral over there and I came into this one and I didn’t see the food pleasing and dishes were disgusting . Food looked like it was sitting there for a while and I just didn’t feel like eating here. I asked the manager if I can get my refund back only and not my family’s since they already served them selves. He was nice enough to give me the refund but he asked me to leave the restaurant. I find it REALLY disrespectful how I couldn’t be inside with my family. I didn’t find there food pleasing or anything …. I DIDNT WANT TO EAT THERE! I told him that he can watch me to see if I eat food if that’s the issue but he said I have to leave the building. SO RUDE! I can’t even spend time with my family in this restaurant who I came to see if I’m not spending money to eat ! Once again , I am not going to spend money to enter a place I wasn’t going to eat in…. Why couldn’t I just sit there with them??? Now all my family is uncomfortable eating inside without me because they aren’t going to ask for a refund when they had already started eating. I came here for them! And now I’m stuck in the car. I wouldn’t even give this place another chance EVER! And best believe my family won’t be coming here or throwing parties here or anything . What if I was vegetarian????? What if I don’t like buffets but only came to spend time with family for a birthday or graduation…. Yea no thanks.

There was an full pan of burnt black bacon. I showed the manager a couple of slices on my plate. He said I should've showed him sooner. I'm thinking sooner? Sooner than when? The honey dew melon and cantaloupe were to hard. What upset me the most is that my lemonade from the dispenser was horrible. We wont be back to any Golden Corrals again.

My spouse and our three children went here yesterday evening for dinner and it was simply disgusting. What food was available was cold and inedible. Paid $60 for this place and all of our stomachs hurt immediately. My husband threw up in the parking lot right after it was so gross. I can order Long horn steak house for $12 bucks more to go and it is the best food ever. We will never return to this location. This location needs to be inspected immediately before someone dies from their food. You charge too much for such unacceptable food and service. Showering is not a requirement for employment at this Independence Golden Corral. It should be shut down like yesterday! One star given due to having to give at least one star. Truly zero stars folks, save your money and lives!! Stay away!

One of the last few still around. They no longer offer a military discount. They offer a good variety. Workers are nice. But not sanitary. Tables were dirty. So was silverware. They need to restock the buffet faster to be fresh.

I've shared a photo of the menu/prices for the buffet. One will notice for 'Adults' say: Lunch M-F 11am-4pm the price is $10.99, now if it's a Saturday that same lunch from M-F is now $12.39....oh wait, it gets better...If you go on Sunday after church It's not considered lunch but it's called Dinner and the price is now $16.49. What a double standard and inflicting a penalty on church goers stopping for lunch after services. Why not provide the same 'Lunch' for $10.99 to us also? Would be nice to boycott Golden Corral on Sundays because of their hypocritical price gouging, after a month of very low 'Lunch' sales on Sundays perhaps they will stop this non-sense of being a 'dinner' for the same time frame as 'lunch' any other day. Don't forget your expected to 'tip' your servers, but not sure exactly what service were receiving from them. True the table was clean when we came in and I'm sure they cleared it when we left but to what expectation is a 'tip' earned? The food, always fantastic here and considering the volume they supply I rate that 5 stars for quality, promptness and friendliness of the backline staff.

It was just ok, little on the "been sitting out for a while" side, not a lot of desserts out, chocolate fountain was out...it was just ok, cuz it isn't exactly cheap, ya know.

Recently remodeled location. Feels extra roomy on the inside. Nice and clean space. Food is good and hot. They have new plates that match the decor. The food is good. Deserts are yummy as well.

So many food options, it's easy to try something new with every visit. They have a taco & nacho station (fajita options as well), classic American options (fried chicken, etc), steak/lots of meat options, seafood, a large salad bar, lots of desserts, and plenty of other things I haven't tried yet. May not be as good quality as some other places, but still better price than most anywhere else for the amount of food you can eat ($36 for both my partner & myself combined). Worth a stop if you want to eat a lot for a lower price

I had not been here a while because the last time we came it was not worth the price for the quality of the food that we got. My kids did really good on their grade cards and asked if we could eat a Golden Corral as a reward (they really like all the dessert options). The food was average at best. None of it tasted especially good. The meat was chewy and full of fat. The taco meat was like soup. The steamed broccoli was hard and not steamed. Tomatoes on the salad bar were wrinkled and mushy. Breaded shrimp was also mushy. There was as no honey butter - and the only butter for the rolls was in these tiny butter packs labeled “buttery spread”, that were ironically hard and not spreadable. The kids were very disappointed that there was no cotton candy and also no chocolate fountain, which were the two main reasons why they picked to come here for dinner. The pumpkin pie looked more like pumpkin pudding on a crust and the carrot cake was almost soggy, for lack of a better description. As mentioned in other reviews, the women’s restroom was nasty and smelled horrible. The ice cream was good. My husband said the only appetizing food item was the macaroni and cheese. We were so underwhelmed and disappointed in the quality of the food - that plus the $60 price tag for 2 adults and 2 kids, all drinking water - that we don’t care to ever eat here again.

Where do I even begin. When we approached the cashier to pay for our food she didn't even acknowledge us because she was too busy with her conversation with the 2 other cashiers/waitresses. When I told her thank you she responded, "yep." Our waitresses that we had were fabulous, very sweet. I noticed cross contamination from handling dirty dishes to refilling customers drinks with the same gloves. The employees loudly discussed their personal lives which was tacky. The food was good so that was a plus. I will say that the atmosphere is a close equivalent to what I'd imagine it would be like to eat in prison. So many angry, rude adults and kids that have zero manners (not the restaurants fault). Makes you feel like you were just released from prison when you're done and get to walk out to your car, that was the best part. We won't be back.

Paid twenty bucks to find a hair in my first bite. Brought it to managements attention and she did nothing. Asked for her name and she refused to give it to me. Said I was too grossed out to eat after pulling a long hair from my mouth after my first bite of my first plate (brought to the host on a napkin for proof) and she told me (person claiming to be Management) that if hair in my food grosses me out to the point of not being able to eat, that i should never go to a restaurant again I was polite, I've been managing restaurants for 11 years, when i insisted on a refund since i couldn't eat she had me escorted out by the rent a cop on duty. And refused my refund, according to her they only offer that for raw chicken. She didn't like what I told her and.even though I was polite, she was rude and refused to remedy the situation. That's not how you manage a restaurant. I wasn't looking for a free meal, but that manager is insane and has no business working in restaurants. She needs to find a new job or get retrained on guest relations. We used to go here every couple months, but never again, especially now that I know that I will take one bite of food, pull a hair from my mouth, pay twenty bucks, and be forcefully removed for inquiring about it.

Went there after our mom's viewing! The chicken was over cooked and dry, mashed potatoes were grainy, which means they weren't cooked long enough, sweet tea wasn't sweet, yeast rolls were not buttery, it was just all bad.

Just not the same. Steak was very good and too order!. Fried fish ok but miss firm texture and taste of catfish and broiled fish was a little salty. No ice cream or frozen yogurt (machines down) and no cheesecake. Go during lunchtime unless you take advantage of steak at dinnertime hours.

I am very saddened at how this place has went downhill! It appears they have spent all this money on renovations but forgot about the main part, THE BUSINESS!!! I'll start with from the entrance. I had to cycle through 8 cups to find a clean one. Get to the register and the price has went up SIGNIFICANTLY since my last visit to this location. Our waitress was EXCELLENT but she really didn't have anything to work with so she kept apologizing. As we got up to go eat we quickly realized there was barely to no food!!! No fried chicken, no meatloaf, no rolls, no sweet potatoes, the little bit of fried fish they had out was under cooked. No ham, overcooked yeast rolls, cornbread was minimal but the Texas toast was plentiful and good, very little meat for tacos, very limited deserts now...... it was horrible! But in the other hand the salad bar was full. It is not a buffet in my opinion, it was a get what you can but still pay us this exuberant price. SMH, we will not be back!

Excelent food, taste really good, the only inconvenience I found A bug in my wife coffee, probably coffee machine had it or kitchen, but the waitress didn't check it before serve it, and we talked to the manager about and I think he didn't handle it good, I know how far this can go, but it's enough just sharing this opinion.

  • 3/5 Stephanie F. 1 year ago on Google
The food is always great and the service is good too, but it always seems to be so hot inside. The fried fish is probably the absolute best thing on the buffet. It's always cooked perfectly and always good sized pieces. It does seem that they need to work on improving buffet inventory planning. I'm sure that sounds like a weird way to word that to some, but working in the supply chain field I always think about how half the items are always empty with people waiting and they should plan to have more ready to restock before a dish is completely empty. Min/Max levels, supply and demand, and all that. Lastly, being a parent of 2 young kids I inevitably end up making at least one trip to the restroom every visit and this is where I think they really fall short. The women's restroom always smells like a sewer line is on the verge of completely backing up, but they're tried to cover the smell with bad air freshener. The floor is always damp like they just tried to mop it, but is also somehow sticky. Somehow, it's like they've tried to clean but it's still filthy all at once. It's really weird. Overall 3 stars for so many conflicting emotions. 🤣

We haven't been to a Golden Coral since before covid started. Never been to this location before, but we liked how they remodeled it. The entrance could be a bit nicer. Our server Andrea was the best....big smile, friendly and very attentive.

Went with family for the Veteran's Day special. It was very busy and crowded but they were efficiently moving people through. Kept most foods filled except for the meats, kept running out of steaks. Food that was out was good. One of better trips, they did a good providing a good meal to Veterans and everyone.

Went for Thanksgiving and was impressed with the handling of the situation. The line to get in was outside and beyond the building yet we were in and seated within 30 minutes. The food was hot and good. Kuddos for providing an enjoyable holiday meal.

This was my first time ever visiting a Golden Corral and I was not impressed. We got there right before dinner and most of the food you could tell had been sitting there for a while. Lots of people behind the scenes but I felt that if I were to ask them anything, I was disturbing them. I wanted roast beef (again, didn't know it wasn't dinner time) and stood there for over 5 minutes. Finally I went back to eat my salad and went back up. They cut it all up and you served yourself. The problem was each slice was over ½ fat/gristle and it was well done. Our server was very nice and friendly. Also, for the price we paid, I would say you need to get real butter and real honey butter. Margarine for those great rolls is gross!

The food was not great. The fired chicken had no flavor, the rolls where hard. They had like 4 drinks available. There ice cream machine is not working and they don't have much in any sort of toppings. But I do have to say our waiter Ernesto was amazing drink refills right away, taking our plates away, and just being super nice and helpful.

It was really busy, but there was plenty of food. My kids had a lot of choices on what they wanted to eat. Most of the food was really good. I would say like 95% good. There were things I just didn't like the taste, but that's not the restaurants fault. The lady that was picking up the old plates and giving refills on drinks was very attentive and friendly.

My very dear friend treated me to have dinner @ Golden Corral. I have never been there before & it was such a treat! Excellent food, a lot to choose from, and excellent service. I will be back with my very dear friend and treat her next time. Thank you Golden Corral for an unforgettable experience🍽🥤🍽🍦🍰

Food was okay, leaving a 1 star review because my wife and I played the claw machine afterwards and won. It didn't drop the prize so we asked for them to correct it or give us a refund. They refused and said we're out of luck. We're talking about $1 management... Shall not be returning

Last went here for lunch. There was a good selection for my 4 and 5 y/o grandsons. My vegetarian wife found food, but the selections available for me were very lacking. There was no meat on the grill. Next to it was some kind of half sandwich that looked dry and unappetizing and cheeseburgers that were very cooked I mean COOKED to well (over) done! I headed over to the fajita station where the meat was dry and there were no tortillas. So down the line I went I got some roasted chicken that was edible. The vegetables were all over cooked the cornbread and baked sweet potatoes were good. I finished with the deviled eggs they were a little rubbery. I realized I was getting picky because I was full and not happy with my meal. Overall it was a disappointment. I have been to this restaurant for dinner several times and this was the first truly disappointing experience. Things have just not been as good because of the pandemic so I believe that there needs to be a new solution to all you can eat dining. It just may need to be an increase in prices with more cook to order items. It would cost more because of the needs for more staff but would lead to less waste and better food. Just my opinion in a nut shell. I hope you enjoy your dining experience.

My son and I went here a few days ago, he hadn't been there for a very long time. His first plate was heaping full! Lol! He had a little bit of everything. I on the other hand ate more slowly... I had the chicken and dumplings with mashed taters. Boy were they delicious! The restaurant was very clean. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs. Clearing dishes and getting drinks. The restroom was very clean. I really love going to this Golden Corral.. I'd recommend it to anyone.

We had a family day to the Kansas City Zoo planned and decided to meet up for breakfast first. When we walked in they asked how many of us there were, and we told them 19. We had already planned to not be able to sit close together because we didn’t plan or call ahead. But, the servers went to work finding tables that were together for us anyways! Very sweet of them! The food was all fresh and there was a little bit of everything on the bar, even though it was only 9am! Our drinks were never empty and our tables cleared as soon as someone was finished with a plate. One of the kids spilled a water, and when we apologized to our server he just laughed. We were so embarrassed!! As someone in a Wheelchair, I appreciate how Accessible everything was for me! Probably the best Golden Corral I’ve ever been to!

This Golden Carrol was awesome! It was super clean and the staff were super friendly and checked on our table several times throughout our meal! The only issue I had with this location was their cuts of beef. My wife and daughter both got steak and both had a different cut of beef. My wifes steak was fatty and chewy while my daughters steak was well cooked and fatless. That was the only inconsistency that I saw. I do give a 5 stars for this location!

Love frequenting the Corral! Yummy! Every time my family is hungry, and we all are kind of on different food choices the Corral is a one stop shop. The staff keeps the place clean, and the buffet stocked. They are always helpful and friendly! I can't think of a place with a better variety for the money. Definitely let Haitham wait on you! He is attentive and friendly, you'll never even realize he is there, but you will always be taken care of with him! Go check out the Corral!

Pretty good morning experience with their breakfast/brunch bar. Wide selection of choices, well-prepared and presented. They had sugar-free syrup for the folks who need a little less, good scrambled eggs, bacon, two types of sausage, pancakes, steak, and so much more. It was definitely a sweet deal for all that was available.

  • 1/5 Robert R. 2 years ago on Google
The food quality was horrible. The majority of the tables had not been cleared or cleaned even as I was leaving 20 minutes later. The food on the bars had been out long enough to dry out the meat selections and I confused the taco meat at first with hot sauce due to the layer of oil and seasoning on the upper layer of the pan.. The food that I did try had bad tastes to them that was not natural to the food I was eating. No spoons on the bar and when I asked the waitress she acted like it was a bother. I had not been in some time after a bad experience with thier breakfast buffet but will not return again after this experience. It saddens me because I used to really enjoy the food and atmosphere.

  • 3/5 JD R. 2 years ago on Google
Recently remodeled and seem to have less food options, especially on salad bar and dessert area. Have tables so close together than sometimes can't even get through or bumped when person at next table pushes their chair back. Apparently didnt' get more or new plates or dishwasher with remodel as can sometimes have no plates at all out or no clean ones that would want to put food on. Nearly $20 for an adult now with a drink and only do specials on the app now so price makes it harder to go.
