Updated 4/13/23: Still solid. Previous experience may have been an off day. Updated 3/17/22: Jury is out. Will require a 3rd trip to see if they're solid. Showed some signs maybe of change or transition. I'll update on my next visit. First time here and this place is a hidden gem in Independence. It's a rustic venue and has a mini McMenamins feel. The owners, Jorge and Maria, along with Mirea are super hospitable and make it feel like home. There are many rooms with slightly different settings on both floors. I went with family so I tried five different meals. All were legit!! The Pink House breakfast, Chorizo Scramble, Meat and Veggie Scramble, Veggie Scramble, French Toast, Oatmeal, biscuit and fresh fruit all delivered. This review would be way too long if I dissected all of them but here's the bottom line....I can almost guarantee you can order anything off the menu and you won't be disappointed. From the time we arrived, were seated, received and ate our food, it was a great experience that you need to come and experience. Reservations are accepted too. The Hernandez family and crew are a diamond and are the epitome of great local business. They are why we support local businesses. Props to The Pink House!!

A very cute little place! I love it! Lunch was so tasty and flavorful! We had Korean Beef Short Ribs that comes with rice, mashed potatoes, zucchini and mushrooms! So good! We shared our entree since we were not that hungry. Clam chowder was very good too! Exceptionally great service!! We will be back and try their homemade desserts and breakfast! ❤

Wonderful place to grab a delicious bite to eat. Friendly staff, clean and well decorated and always delicious food. Decent variety of options at very reasonable prices. My daughter fell in love with the French toast instantly and already can't wait to go back. Great option to support local! Highly recommend.

Quaint old house with downstairs, upstairs, and outside dining areas. Charming decor great service and excellent home cooked meals. I had the Code fried with a salad. It was a wonderful experience. I will definitely be back. Masks required- order for pick up.

My daughter and I came in for brunch. We were super excited. From the outside it was super cute and such a cool vibe. We came in and were seated. We waited about 15 minutes before anyone came to us. We watched as a couple seated after us was ordering. Our waiter finally came and he looked confused. He asked if anyone talked to us and we said no. He noticed we didn't even have waters. He apologized. We ordered pink lemonade for my daughter and a coffee with half and half for me. We waited another 10 minutes for the drinks. He never brought the half and half. I got up and went to the counter to request the half and half. The young lady said sure but never came back to me. I saw my waiter and mentioned the half and half. I left to sit down and he brought it after about another 10 minutes. We waited about an hour total for our food. The couple who ordered before us even tho they came after us, had already finished and paid before we got our food. All I ordered was 2 pancakes with hashbrowns and bacon. My daughter ordered scrambled eggs with crab and veggies. When we finally go our food, the hashbrowns were inedible as it was drowning in oil. The bacon tasted and had the texture of bacon dog treats. The pancakes were okay but cold. I took a few bites of everything and couldn't eat anymore leaving my plate pretty full. My daughter said hers was okay but tasted more fishy than crab. The waiter never came to check on us. I saw him and quickly asked for the check. We paid and i tipped the waiter still since he's just a kid likely doing his best without really any training or guidance. That place could be really good if they changed a few things. the waiter had mentioned the placee was haunted but never elaborated. Could have been a cool story. Won't be back but best of luck to them and I hope they improve ✌️💕

The Pink House Cafe is a stunning little place to eat! We stumbled across it while exploring the area, and have now went multiple times and bring our friends to let them enjoy the place as well. The house has historical photos and memorabilia all throughout, which leads to an atmosphere of eating in a tiny time capsule. :) The food is delicious and well priced. The staff are friendly and always ready to help if you have questions or requests. Definitely going back more and showing this place to even more friends!

Welcome – pink house café This is one time I’m glad I fellowed the white rabbit. I happened find myself in Independence for work and decided to take a stroll through town. After paying my respects to a town hero and reading up on the towns history, I had worked up a bit of a hunger and thought I had seen a sandwich board for something to eat a few blocks back. Just up the street a few blocks was Pink House Café. Here’s what I found inside. It was like stepping out of 2022 and into my grandmothers house. The art, the wallpaper and boarders, the furniture, and table cloths all created the setting for what was to be a wonderful dining experience. Shortly after being greeted, ( by the owner I think,) and shown to my table I had a cup of coffee and had ordered a Crab meat veggie scramble. Which included old style sliced hash browns/ potatoes, and toast. While I waited I was engaged by a nice lady who said she had decided to treat herself with a nice breakfast at the cafe. The meal was served and it was time to dig in. Fresh crab and veggies with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese and seasoned. Condiments were also made available. The meal tasted great and left me feeling full but not weighed down. As I ate a gentleman came in and sat near me and we struck up a friendly conversation. It was nice being able to go out by myself but not feeling alone. The service was great as was the food. I would certainly go back again. Thank you. 242 D St Independence, OR Hours Mon - closed Tue - closed Wen - 8am-8pm Thur - 8am-8pm Fri - 8am-8pm Sat - 8am-8pm Sun. - 8am-5pm

Intimate, breakfast lunch or dinner cafe, multiple outdoor seating areas and cute indoor tables. Best service, and lovely food. Prices are very fair for the quaint decor and peaceful atmosphere. Walk to everything in Independence from this hometown business. perfect for a first date or family get together.

Do yourself a favor and head to Pink House Cafe in Independence, OR the next time youre looking for a cool place with great food. This place is a true hidden gem! From the historic charm of the house and furnishings to the gracious hospitality of the owners and staff to the delicious, freshly-prepared food, it has it all! This was my second visit, and it did not disappoint. I'd previously been here for a casual dinner with a friend (dining al fresco when the weather was warmer - they have two outdoor seating areas!), but returned today for breakfast and my first impression has been confirmed. Prompt, friendly service, quality ingredients and extra touches like fresh pico de gallo being included with the jam and other condiments when the food was served - and that's all in addition to dishes that are flavorful and hearty portions! (We did not stop to take photos of our breakfast, but here's a photo of my curry chicken salad from my first visit. Delicious and beautiful plating and presentation!)

We sat (4 people total) on the front porch. It was quiet and a great day to eat outside. The menu was meh. I get that size of a place will only have a limited amount of items on the menu but at least make it a little bit more universal in taste or actually make items better. My mom and I split the blackberry (cobbler/crisp) paid $7.95 and it was totally not worth it

I want to say this cute little house was thought out, but I would be lying. Atmosphere is very cute and I would love the little cafe it the food was a bit better. Breakfast look amazing, you can’t really mess up on a sandwich and I tried out dinner. Looking at my compadres choice of meals they looked mediocre at best. I ordered the Korean beef short ribs-this is how it went… The vegetables were cut so small that by the time they got on the pan they were already over cooked, the sauce was so salty that it became sour and I got what looked like the leftovers for short ribs. I just don’t think the menu is good, you have too many cultural foods that aren’t perfected. You should keep it on one note so to speak because jumping around and making things you can’t make well just looks bad. I would never have served this dish knowing the only good thing on the plate was the rice. I’m sorry to be so snide, but you can do better.

The service was a little disorganized and slower than expected given the small number of customers they had in the dining areas, but it was clear they had a newer crew of wait staff. This had minimal effect on the food, however. My wife had a fritata because it was billed as being gluten-free, and I ordered the biscuits and gravy. There was a LOT of it in the full plate, and it was tasty. We've come here a few times in the past and always been impressed by the place.

prime rib steak and eggs for their special... I ordered a rare steak. 10 minutes later the server comes back and says all they have is medium. OK, fine that'll work. steak comes out well past well done. I didn't know prime rib could get that cooked. was awful. ate 1/4 of it and gave up. We won't be eating there again. Spent $23 on toast, some potatoes and eggs since the steak was god awful. The restaurant didn't even pretend to care that the item was bad.

Nice little restaurant with great atmosphere. But don't get confused and think it is a coffee shop.

Delightful place. The chicken curry salad, the classic turkey club sandwich and humus sandwich just hit the spot. Very Fresh salad and fruits. Dessert was out of the world. We ordered rum cake and cheese cake swirl brownies. Will try the others next time we come. Friendly warm service. Even our dog got bacon bits.
