One of the best restaurant in Goa. Beautiful ambience, excellent host and service. Tasty food. Dull lights, candles and Roses. Don't miss this place if you are in Goa. Old Portugal bungalow is beautifully converted into classy restaurant.

I & along with my family and little kids (& baby!) were walking the streets and we saw the restaurante sign and walked in not knowing what to expect. Such thoughtful places are rare to find. The food was so good and pricing was very reasonable! Our beloved waiter at the table was excellent & deserves a medal for serving portions on the plate and making it easy for us. Music was being played on cassettes including live singing by Francesco, this historical place is a museum in itself! Definitely visiting here on the next trip.

One of the Best Places to spend time with family & friends. The food served is fresh, authentic taste and value for money. Most importantly it's the warm and courteous hospitality of Maizey and the staff that makes the place very lively.

I have been to Casa Portuguesa Restaurante for the third time now, and I must say, it continues to be an exceptional dining experience. Post COVID, they went through a significant change with new ownership and introduced a diverse menu that now offers a mix of Indian, Goan, and Portuguese delicacies. The fusion of different cuisines has brought a refreshing twist to the restaurant's offerings. While I initially had reservations about this change, I am delighted to report that the food is still of high quality and is plated with meticulous attention to detail. The chefs have successfully managed to retain the outstanding taste and presentation that I loved during its Portuguese-only phase. The Indian and Goan dishes blend seamlessly with the traditional Portuguese fare, creating a truly unique dining experience. I appreciate the restaurant's willingness to take risks and explore new culinary territories, providing patrons like me with a broader array of flavors to indulge in. The new team seems incredibly motivated and enthusiastic about their craft. Their passion reflects in every dish that arrives at the table. The service has also improved since my last visit, with a friendlier and more attentive staff, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Though some might miss the exclusivity of the previous Portuguese-only menu, I find the new mix of cuisines to be exciting and innovative. It allows for a wider selection, catering to various palates and preferences. In conclusion, Casa Portuguesa Restaurante's transition to a mix restaurant has been successful in my eyes. The food quality remains impeccable, the presentation is superb, and the team's dedication is evident. Whether you're a fan of Portuguese classics or intrigued by the blend of flavors, this restaurant promises a delightful culinary adventure. If you are in the mood to explore diverse tastes without compromising on quality, Casa Portuguesa Restaurante is undoubtedly worth a visit. I will certainly be returning to savor more of their delectable creations in the future.

We first came here in 1993 and been back many times over the years. From that day to this, it remains the best Returant I've ever been to.

The food was amazing. Most people associate Goan food with particular spicy dishes but this restaurant pays homage to Portuguese cuisine with its own unique style. After all the Portuguese settled for 400 years. It is a unique restaurant in rustic and unpretentious surroundings. The waiters are old style polite and the whole ambience of the place took me back to the old Goa. Francisco threw in some beautiful and soulful fado music to wrap it all up. This restaurant is must for truly understanding all that Goan has to offer Well done Francisco.

Ended up here purely by chance walking down the main road towards Baga. The restaurant was in an old Portuguese house with a real charm. We thought we'd try it out and we are so glad we did! The service here absolutely makes everything else that much better. Shailesh, our host greeted us with a warm welcome and was incredibly passionate about the restaurant and the food they serve. He gave us an overview of the concept, the background of the restaurant and was recommended some of the dishes to our taste. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, he was happy to accommodate any requests on our end. :) Having been out of India for a number of years, I've often found the service to be lacking when it comes to restaurants. Here, I honestly cannot recommend it enough. Beautiful restaurant, warm and welcoming hosts and good food. Would definitely visit again in the future. Genuinely, really really lovely folks here. Thanks for having us! :)

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. The moment I walked in, I was immediately captivated by the beautiful presentation and the inviting ambience. The restaurant’s atmosphere was a perfect blend of sophistication and comfort. Soft, ambient lighting, tasteful decor, and cozy seating arrangements created an inviting ambiance that immediately put me at ease. It was the kind of place where you felt equally comfortable for a special celebration or an intimate dinner for two. Now, let’s delve into the star of the show - the food. Casa Portuguese had a reputation for serving authentic and delectable Portuguese cuisine, and my first encounter with their offerings certainly lived up to this expectation. I decided to explore a variety of dishes, starting with the squid calamari. It was a masterpiece on a plate - tender, succulent, and cooked to perfection. Each bite was a burst of flavors, and the accompanying sauce complemented the dish splendidly. Next up was the Andhra mutton curry. As a fan of spicy cuisine, I was thrilled with the rich and aromatic blend of spices in this dish. The mutton was incredibly tender, practically melting in my mouth, and the curry sauce had just the right level of heat to tantalize my taste buds. The memory of those dishes lingered in my mind, tempting me to revisit this gastronomic haven. And so, I returned with high expectations and an eager appetite. On my second visit, the restaurant continued to impress with its unwavering commitment to both presentation and ambience. The warm and inviting atmosphere enveloped me once again, setting the perfect stage for another remarkable meal. This time, I decided to try their special made-to-order crab and chicken cafreal. The crab was a revelation. Meticulous care had clearly been taken in its preparation, resulting in extraordinary flavors that were unlike anything I had tasted before. Each bite offered a delightful surprise, and the crab was incredibly fresh and tender. The chicken cafreal, much like my previous experience, was a symphony of flavors. The blend of herbs and spices was perfectly balanced, elevating the dish to a level of culinary excellence. The chicken remained moist and succulent, showcasing the chef’s culinary prowess. What truly sets this establishment apart is its exceptional attention to detail in presentation. Every dish was not only a culinary masterpiece but also a visual delight. Each plate was carefully crafted with an artistic touch, making the dining experience feel like a journey through both taste and aesthetics. The combination of beautiful presentation and the amazing ambience creates an atmosphere that makes every visit feel special and memorable. It’s evident that Casa Portuguese takes pride in providing a complete dining experience, where every sense is delighted. In conclusion, my second visit only reinforced my belief that it is a culinary gem worth revisiting time and time again. Whether you’re a seafood enthusiast, a lover of spicy delights, or simply seeking a dining experience that goes beyond the ordinary, Casa Portuguese is a must-visit destination. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to explore even more of their delectable offerings and savor the magic they create in every dish.

Exquisitely prepared and authentic food in a beautifully restored adobe restaurant. The highlight of our time in Goa - the best meal and experience of our time in the city.

While vacationing in Goa (by way of The United States) this past January, my friend and I happened upon this lovely restaurant by accident and took a chance going in. It turned out to be a great decision, not just for the food (which was amazing), but also for the hospitality extended to us by the waitstaff, and especially the owner, Francesco, who peppered our experience with songs, stories, and very good company. I do hope to make it back again someday!
