Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (IIT BHU) is a public technical university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. It was designated an Indian Institute of Technology in 2012.[3][4] IIT (BHU) Varanasi has 16 departments, 3 inter-disciplinary schools and 1 Humanities & Social Sciences Section. It is located inside the Banaras Hindu University Campus. IIT (BHU) Varanasi has formerly been known as the Banaras Engineering College (BENCO), the College of Mining and Metallurgy (MINMET), the College of Technology (TECHNO) and the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (IT-BHU). Its establishment is intimately linked with that of the Banaras Hindu University (BHU). The first convocation ceremony at BHU was held on 2 December 1920. The Chancellor of the University, Maharaja Krishnaraja Wadiyar of Mysore who had come to preside over and address the convocation, performed the opening ceremony of the Banaras Engineering College (BENCO) Workshop buildings.[5] An Artisan Course was started on 11 February 1919. BHU has the credit of first starting degree classes in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Metallurgy and Pharmaceutics, thanks to the foresight of its founder, Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya.

The placement cell of the college will provide you with several opportunities to get your dream job in all sectors like IT, Gov, Sales, or Operations. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, etc. Almost all students get placed. The highest package you can get is more than 2cr and the average is around 12 Lakh. The college comes up with Three fest, Technex (Technical Fest), Kashiyatra (Cultural Fest) & Spardha (Sports Fest). Apart from this all departments conduct separate Departmental fest. You will get any book in the central library which is accessible 24*7.

Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi (IIT BHU) is a public technical and research university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located inside the Banaras Hindu University Campus, however is not dependent on it. IIT (BHU) Varanasi offers four-year instructional programs for the degree of Bachelor of Technology (BTech) and five-year programs for Integrated Dual Degree (IDD). The IDD program offers both BTech and MTech degrees. Admission to all programs is expressly through the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology.[18] Earlier half of the intake for Pharmaceutical sciences was through JEE and the other half through BHU-PMT. But after the college was converted into an IIT, intake for BTech and the IDD in Pharmaceutical sciences (now Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology) is exclusively through Joint Entrance Exam.

Our college has good infrastructure, nice environment, and beautiful surroundings. Placements: IIT BHU has a strong reputation for placements. Nearly all students get placed with good salary packages from top companies. The placement success depends on factors like students' skills, marketing skills, etc. Infrastructure: It is an old college with many emotions and great history. The infrastructure is quite impressive. The campus is spread across a vast area and houses modern facilities. The campus has a mix of historic and contemporary architecture, giving it a unique charm. Faculty: Teaching is great in our college. Faculty members are knowledgeable and experienced. They come from diverse academic backgrounds. They have a good combination of research and industry expertise. The course curriculum is up to date. Exams are challenging. Other: Our batch is fascinating. All students are interested in doing new things. Satisfied by our faculty, good placements, and mostly out of college life. Placements:Ā Our passing out batch is 2018-2022. Their batch strength was 120. About 90% students get placed but Internship scenario is alter here, the circuital (CSE, Electrical, Electronics) gets the most of on campus internship but in other branches 10-15 people get internship from companies coming to college. About 30 percent student got internship and rest were not having an internship offer. Our college the lowest placement record is 6lpa and the highest is 1.25cr. Our top roles were of Software developed, Quant, product manager, Data analyst etc. Infrastructure:Ā Here Wi-Fi is great, fast Wi-Fi is available at every point in campus. Labs are well-equipped, classrooms are greatly designed for studying. Fully air conditioned libraries are available here from 8am to 10 pm. Food is above average here, they provide non spicy foods but quality is good. Canteen is opened till 3am night. Almost everything is available in canteen. We get medical card for free checkup and for free medicine. We got four grounds here and every sports is played here, indoor games like carrom, Table tennis, badminton and also outdoor games like cricket, boxing, football etc. Faculty:Ā Our teachers are well qualified. They try to help as much as possible. Their teaching style is good. Our course is definitely relevant to industries, they are incorporating the latest trends in our curriculum. Our semester exams are also not as much tough because we already have previous year questions and also most questions come from assignments, tutorials. Other:Ā I have chosen mining engineering I was getting this on my JEE rank. The best thing about our course is that it gives plenty of time. I wish there should be more leveraged in attendance in our course. A student can do many extracurricular activities in our college like participating in events and our exciting fest Kashiyatra. Our campus have a different aura because of Kashi Vishwanath temple and ghats our college.

Environment is excellent for students ...and placement of BHU iit is also good ..IIT (BHU) Varanasi is among India's leading public engineering institutions and is situated in Uttar Pradesh in the northern region of the country. It was set up in 1919 when it was part of the coveted Banaras Hindu University. Three sections of BHU, namely, College of Technology, College of Mining & Metallurgy, and Banaras Engineering College, were merged to form the Institute of Technology (IT-BHU) in 1971. It was much later in 2012 that the institution was given the status of an Indian Institute of Technology. The transformation was made possible by incorporation of The Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 2012.

Indian Institute of Technology (BHU) Varanasi is a public technical university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. Founded in 1919 as the Banaras Engineering College, it became the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University in 1968. It was designated an Indian Institute of Technology in 2012.IIT (BHU) Varanasi is an institution in transition. Such a transition provides opportunities not otherwise available to other institutions. It has a brand new academic curriculum which weaves research and innovation with flexible course work. Like previous years, this year also, a special event is planned for you, so as to make you comfortable with the campus, learn the culture and ethos of the place, and gear yourself up for professional education. You will have a one week Induction Programme right at the beginning of the semester, from July 26th. You will play games, have group discussions, learn about your department and the institute. Regular classes will start after the Induction Program. The institute provides an active extra-curricular life with games & sports, culture, science & technology and literature and media. We benefit from the city of Varanasi which is the cultural hub of this region. There are many social and spiritual activities as well, in which students can participate. The students are undoubtedly the biggest asset to the institute. Various activities are organized in IIT-Gymkhana by the students, right from the scratch. Kashiyatra, the annual cultural festival of the institute attracts, although not much, but still ample crowd from universities across India, to witness the awesome display of talent by the IIT (BHU) student fraternity inspired the lifestyle of the Holy City. Various clubs like Western / Indian Music Club, Cine Club, Literary Club etc function at full potential within the Gymkhana. Spacious grounds and fields provide voluptuous opportunities for sports like Cricket & Football. Other sports like Badminton, Tennis are played with equal participation and enthusiasm. Besides, the institute has a well furnished Technology Business Incubator for budding entrepreneurs within the institute. IIT (BHU) students can boast of one of the best campus life one can ever get in an Indian university. The city in itself is amazingly vivid in the terms of its culture. Although dirty, chaotic and crowded, one's heart clings to this city and yearns for more of it. Initially, people find it hard to adjust to the conditions in the campus (which is far more cleaner than the rest of the city) and Varanasi. However, in due course of time the mystical intricacies of the city cast a spell on our senses and one falls in love with the same crowded streets, narrow gullies, the nocturnal deafening & deadly silence in the ghats(which teem with life during theĀ artiĀ in the evening), the distant chiming of the temple bells, the psychedelic concerts by stoned foreigners, the delicacies of roadsideĀ chatĀ and what not. The campus turns into an infinitely silent and beautiful abode in the night and you feel like to roam the lonely roads on and on.

One of the best colleges in India with a rich heritage. Unlike other IITs; IIT BHU sits within the massive Banaras Hindu University campus. That has a charm and benefit of its own. Its like a mini city inside a 1300 acre campus. IITians also benefit from the wider university facilities. For example you can join the school of music for courses. Alumni base, placement record, campus environment are absolutely top notch.

Undergrad education is a combination of academics, friendship, networking, learning beyond the classroom. I would rate my experience at IIT(BHU) Varanasi as excellent. The icing on the cake or rather the rabri on kesar milk is the cultural immersion that can happen only at Varanasi.
