After visiting family in the hospital, we wanted to try something new for lunch. We wound up at Dawson in Speedway and what a great decision that was. The menu is unbelievable! We finally decided on chicken Parmesan for me and pot roast special and fries for hubby. Both were so very good. I got a slice of German chocolate cake to go and when I ate it later, I was amazed at the portion size….it was twice what you get elsewhere and oh so good! Our server Chad was the best…great personality! I would rate it at 10 out of 10.

Still an excellent place for Dinner or drinks. We have been to Dawson's several times. Nice bar, very good bartender who on this night was our Server. Like so many restaurants help is very hard to find. Dawson's has a large menu, something for everyone on their menu. Tonight we had the Fried Shrimp and the Beef Stroganoff. Both were very good and plenty of food is given. Their Meatloaf is pretty good as well.

Seriously you should go to this spot! The food is so fresh and delicious. The service is great. This is just a cool spot to go for great food and conversation. We sat in the “outdoor” seating but the inside was nice as well as the bar area. Love all the flavors and variety of menu! Go to speedway and check it out!

Amazing place had the pretzels and crab cakes for an appetizer, hand-breaded tenderloin and rib sandwich to eat and it was all amazing and came out very quick and waitress was very nice, honest, and checked up on us a good amount! (There sauces are insanely good too!)

I went to Dawson's on main for a work group meet up. Our party size was about 14 people. Service was friendly, and a great speed for so many people. They were attentive to drinks being filled and any other needs. I had the Cajun wrap with blackened chicken, which was really good. The last few bites were "meh," just because a lot of the Cajun ranch pooled there, but I think that is likely my fault for the way I was holding the wrap. I didn't hear any complaints from my colleagues either, just complements on the food. In fact, some people ordered soup after they saw how delicious the French onion soup looked when it came out! I would recommend this restaurant!

I don't know why I've never been to this place, but so glad we found it! Locals seem to know it's there and there are many regulars. I had the shrimp fettuccine which was fantastic and I split with a friend and tried Tony's chicken, which was also great! A friend had the steak Susan and it was prepared perfectly. Chocolate martinis were yummy, our waiter, Ron, was friendly, funny, and had suggestions. Service was quick, food was amazing, and we're looking forward to becoming regulars as well.

Excellent service provided by Jeremy! Very personable and knowledgeable of the menu. Food was great, prices fair. We dined on the patio. Great vibe especially in May. Interesting menu, something to please everyone. Across the street from IMS.

The calamari steak was really good and seems to be pretty unique to this area. Their cocktail sauce was pretty good if a little mileld. The ribeye was pretty decent and the carrot cake was very tasty.

Great food and friendly staff! Have come here several times. Grilled cheese could have been better, and my side piece of bread was hard. But they took care of it and really enjoyed the food.

We were in town and just wanted a good steak in a peaceful environment. This place is a gem. We had steaks and prime rib and every single thing was wonderful. Best steak I've had in a long time. The jalapeno cheddar potato cakes are delicious!

Had an incredible first experience last night! Service was great even though they were very busy, the atmosphere was perfect, and the food has me ready to go back as often as I can! Highly recommend the pork chop dinner.

Let me tell you, this was a horrible experience. I love ALL the items in this dish and know what its supposed to taste like. I took my first bite expecting savory and familiar. It was like soured and kind of oily ..so I tried the chicken..not that..I tried just the sauce, pungent then the mushroom..that's what it was. My dates Filet Mignon was SEVEARLY undercooked. The waitress was so polite (this the one ⭐)but didnt stay to see or come back to ask about the food. I love trying Indy local food but this was an expensive review. Sadly we will not be back.

Located close to the Indy Speedway, this cozy restaurant has a ton of delicious options, ambiance with a touch of the "brickyard" and friendly staff. Grilled chicken club sandwich came with my choice of side...the toastiest and most tender tator potato tots that I have ever enjoyed. And believe me...I have tasted a lot of tots! Simply perfect! I woukd love to try the delicious salads next, or the BBQ platter! Okay...just try them all. Don't think you will be disappointed.

Visited 2/12/22 This place was cold, bring a coat if visiting during the cold months. Food was good, wife didn’t care for it much. It was good…

The crab cakes appetizer, I think these were deep fried instead of pan seared…the nachos were better but could’ve used more meat (I got the chicken). We also had the soup special French onion with mushroom ragu but I didn’t see/taste any. Prices were reasonable and service ok; granted they were busy.

Sat outside with a group after playing golf this day. We have eaten here a few times before. The food is really good and they have good waitresses. I wasn't very hungry this day and ordered a "bowl" of potato soup. I wasn't surprised when I got a large "cup" instead of an actual "bowl". This has occurred to me at other restaurants after the "Covid" scare and because of the liberal government caused inflation. $6.00 for this size of "bowl"is just too much. If it wasn't for the size of the "bowl" and over charging for said "bowl" of soup, I'd give them a 5 star rating. You will enjoy the restaurant and its food, though. It's just hard to get used to this inflation. Right? You have to park on Main Street or in parking lots across the street. They don't have their own parking. It's all free, though.

Best tenderloins!!! Also had crab cakes for an appetizer and you'd think you were on the East coast, they are that good!!

Food is amazing. Perfectly cooked large portions all around. Honestly loved the calamari so much i could eat 2 plates as my meal. My only gripe is the jalapeño potato cakes are bland, but i can forgive that when everything else is flavorful. Our server Chad was really knowledgeable and got us our plates quick. Definitely coming back.

Our experiences here are always pretty similar- solid food, decent service, with a bit higher food plate prices than what we typically like to see. One of the best things here is the selection of mixed specialty drinks, which are outstanding and do have good prices, in comparison to other restaurants drinks. It's always been my belief if you want to burn money then you'll order drinks at a restaurant.....you can burn your money fast. Here it's a bit more affordable on the drink side, however you'll pay a bit more on the food side. Service has always been consistent and just OK. The biggest downside to eating here seems to be the atmosphere and especially outside due to things the restaurant can't control - so you can't ding the rating because the restaurant can't really control the outside street noise. During our dinner several times we experienced aheavy smell of gasoline and had to tolerate all the guys who think they are "cool" with loud pipes and exhausts. You would think they would understand the people eating doesn't care about your loud exhaust or your fancy motorcycle with a loud radio. This sure takes away from a night out to have a nice dinner with your wife. I will say while this restaurant is not on our top spots or "hot list" ----it is a 5 out of 5 and I can recommend it.

Here for work from Texas and my husband had to order the Pork Tenderloin Sandwich. He is originally from INDY so he gets it every time we come to town. Let us start with the waiter Jeremy, hands down the best waiter!!! Next the food… my pork chops were tendu, juicy and the sweet potatoes were heavenly. The Pork Tenderloin sandwich was the best he had ever eaten! Come visit this amazing restaurant and drink a cold beer and come hungry!! Lunch, Dinner or Supper is waiting for you ❤️

Fabulous service and really good food. The wide selection and location of this place were great. Loved the outside tables and the views of Main Street and the Speedway. I had the meatloaf, which was very tasty. Hope to return soon!

My mom and I stopped here for lunch on Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was a little busy but the service was amazing. Caden was our server and he was very polite , attentive, and funny. The food was amazing.... The menu had a wide selection and I seen so many other dishes I would like to try. Next time i am in Indy I will most definitely make my way to Dawson's on Main

The food and atmosphere were not bad, but could definitely be better. We were in from out of town and tried calling to make sure they were open and were dismayed to hear on the recording that they were still only seating to half capacity. We called four times and no one ever picked up the phone. The waitress confirmed that neither the message system nor the website had been updated after the end of COVID. The bathrooms were poorly lit and not very clean. The waitress we had was top notch; friendly, attentive and well versed on the menu. We started with Fried Brussel Sprouts anticipating them to be air fried but alas they were breaded and deep fried, they would be better crispy air fried. The accompanying Spicy Bacon Jam had neither the taste of spice or bacon. Overall, the appetizer was a thumbs down. I started with the French Onion Soup which was good, followed by the Tony’s Favorite Chicken. The chicken was perfectly pan seared but there were only two shrimp. This was a generous portion and it would be nice to see a lunch half portion offered. The Spicy Garlic Cream Sauce had no spice and no garlic and in fact no real flavor; the sauce gets a thumbs down. The Chef’s Veggies were well cooked and still had a bit of crispness which is my preference. The hubby had the Gary’s Meatloaf Dinner which he enjoyed and very much appreciated that it had a wonderful mushroom demi sauce; thumbs up. The garlic mashed potatoes were fine, but the Jalapeno Cheddar Potato Cake needed more cheese, flavor, and body. All in all the prices were fair and the portions adequate and we would try eating here again with the hopes that they would improve their flavors.

They don't have a lot of gluten-free items on the menu other than salads, but the PO pecan-cranberry salad with grilled chicken was excellent and was enough to fill me up. Service was rapid and prices were reasonable. Within walking distance of IMS.
