This is a free museum on the ground floor - left side of the elevator. I was a little confused because there wasn’t a reception or place to get a ticket, but this is a small walk in museum dedicated to the firefighters of Indy. Totally recommend visiting if you’re in Mass Ave!

It was free to enter and walk around. It had a lot of apparatus that firefighters use. It was even interesting that a person was playing bagpipes over there. I feel like there's more history there and I could really enjoy. It kind of has more of a feel of being a memorial so I had an appreciation for it. We definitely be a good educational moment for people

The newly renovated IFD Museum is a really cool place to visit. TONS of fire fighting history 'stuff' (i.e. equipment, rigs, photos, displays, etc) in a 100+ year old firestation! The antique fire truck is really something to see as well. Great place to spend an afternoon. Appropriate for all ages. The Fallen Firefighter Memorial is neat to visit as well.

A very nice place! You should go visit when you have time. Great for kids and great for adults. The Firefighters there were very helpful, and made our visit extra special.

This is a great opportunity for others to see history. My cousin and I enjoyed our time in the time spent at the museum. We recently attended the Reading of the Names -85th Year on October 2nd, 2019. I would recommend if you have time to stop by for a visit. Lots of items to take a look at. Please take your time to enjoy the history here.

Built in 1872 and still standing?? It has two Stutz's that were built right here in Indianapolis.

Fantastic! Had a great time with my son's class. Everyone was really nice and kept all the kids engaged! I was amazed to see how nice their facilities were. There was fake smoke, a heated door to simulate a fire in the house. The whole 9 yards. I highly recommend it to everyone as a fantastic field trip!

What a great little museum! No entry fee, though donations are welcome. Two big old fire trucks, lots of great little details. Worth a quick stop!

Took my girlfriend here for our 3 month anniversary. I liked the fire trucks but she kept getting scared by the fake life size fireman. Otherwise great, admission is free so it’s a good date idea.

I just got done painting it and it was one of the coolest jobs I've been on. Love all of the history and the historical points of the building itself

Our 3 boys ( ages 5, 5 and 2) and I went here after visiting the Police Museum. We only stayed for 10mins because they were popped! While we were at the Fire Fighters Museum they enjoyed seeing the model fire engines in each exhibit and learning from the Admin. Our 2yr old was a little frightened by the mannequin with the gas mask on. They walked away with plastic fire hats and fire fighter coloring books with safety content. We will return. P.S. This museum tailors to looking only. No touching...I had to have this talk with our guys before entering.

A fun little museum! Free to get in, but donations are welcome, and we had the great opportunity to have our visit guided by a 92 year old who was a thirty year veteran of the Indy Fire Dept! It was a very interesting touch to hear the history of the department from someone who had lived through so much of it! Definitely a place to stop by and spend some time while you stroll Mass Ave!
