I had been admitted here twice back in 2021 and both times I had a horrible experience. I literally lied the last time I was brought here so that I didn’t have to go through the uncomfortable mess that is this place. All they do is tamper with your medications, make you listen to a woman speak empty thoughts for HOURS, give you bad food, and only check you for maybe 10 minutes a day with your doctor. It’s misery. If it would have worked, I wouldn’t have gone back there three times. It obviously doesn’t. Don’t send any loved ones to this place because most likely they’ll leave feeling worse then before they were admitted. I know that’s how it was for me. DO BETTER! Not to mention the intercoms doing daily prayer so even if you’re not religious, you still have to suffer (religious trauma alert).

Went because I was actively experiencing psychosis. On the very first night, was asked by a woman nurse named Miss. Gail, if I knew that I had been there for 2 weeks. So she basically lied to my face to see what my reaction was. Started melting down in front of her & she basically told me to stop acting like that.....not something that should be said to someone experiencing a CRISIS. Left after 5 days, with a diagnosis that has since been heavily questioned on it's accuracy. Especially since it included that I wasn't experiencing any psychotic symptoms.....please, if you love your struggling family member, do NOT send them here. Addition: There is NO informed consent on medications given to you at this facility. They give you medications & you must agree to take them, whether or not you have any idea what it really is. Or you will risk staying there longer.

Very nice staff who always remember your name. Food is pretty good for hospital food, and a decent variety and selection. Environment felt very safe, one patient became out of control during my stay and the staff were very quick to step in and move him to another unit. Lots of games and and puzzles to play, and books to read. Socializing with other patients was easy. TVs had YouTube so we could watch movies and videos. Came out feeling a lot better than when I went in. A good experience overall.

I was admitted for anxiety/depression, and I stayed for 5 days here. I stayed in the detox unit for about 24 hours because they didn't have beds in the "affective disorders" unit (I think that's what it is called). But once I got to my unit and on track, it was a decent stay there. Most of the staff are very friendly, and my social worker Samantha was helpful and nice. The psychiatrist I met with (Guggali) was very helpful and set me up with the right medications. It is highly unlikely that you'll get your own room, but I found that most people go to the common area for the majority of the day once they get settled in. The food is typical hospital food (salt and butter will be your best friends). I would suggest paying close attention to the medications they are giving you - always ask what is in the little paper cups. Some of my fellow patients were irritated to find that they were given too much or too little of certain medications, but I personally did not experience that.

The floor staff was great. Kind and caring. The psychiatrists are a joke. They spend maybe 5 minutes and all they want to do is change and increase your meds without knowing anything about you. No therapy, only group discussions.,Very start and institutional. Bathrooms are horrible and they keep them locked. Waking you up at 6 an, turning on the overhead lights for your “ early morning meds.” Then again at eight. Horrible. Boring just staring at the walls.

Don't go here if you're having a mental health crisis. They will shove you in a room for 3+ hours, then when you're irritable during the psych evaluation (from being stuck in a room with only basic cable to entertain you), they'll accuse you of being hostile and they'll blame you for your problems! Very useful when I'm trying to not hurt myself. NOT. Completely unprofessional and unhelpful.

In November I came to the adolescents unit for s/i and self harm. I was treated with a psychatrist, social worker, and 2 staff members everyday. We got snack and there were multiple groups. Although I think the point system they had was weird, this is the best facility I have been to and I have since gotten better. I am so glad I made the choice to come here, and I'm very happy nowadays.

Good until you get out of the hospital, except for the fact I stated I was vegetarian, was never given meals to accommodate so I never had enough to eat (and you get judged by how much you eat which isn't fair because they didn't give me food I could eat) the nurses really seem to care but the doctors don't, also once you leave you get absolutely no help even though that's the most critical part of the journey. Was also stuck in a room for two hours, was told I was going to get to see my mom again before I went upstairs, was completely lied to about that. Then like I said, got no help once I left so basically the only good thing that happened was I was given a more helpful medication than what I had before.

A warning to mamas out there, if you seek support because you are in an overwhelming parenting situation, you face the risk of being reported to CPS by this place. It's shameful that a mom who realizes she's at the end of her rope and wants to get better for her children should then have CPS show up at her door even though she made no disclosures of harm to her children.

What to expect: Phone time is basically any time except for group time, they get shut off then turned on after the session is over. Hygiene can be provided. You are met with Clinical staff usually your first morning there to get a plan going. Not a whole lot of “activities”, there’s a few puzzles & coloring books, things like that, so bring a book to read. My only complaints would be that the showers are a little rough, intake processing before arriving to the unit takes a couple of hours & feels a little bit prison like at first, but it is completely different once you arrive on the unit. Also, that I believe it should be more clearly stated that the stay is minimum of 3-5 days. I talked to an operator over the phone before I checked myself in just to make sure I would be able to leave whenever I wanted & she said I was able to. So I planned accordingly, & was met with different standards once arriving to my assigned unit. So it threw me off a bit, so maybe try to get everyone on the same page? However, other than that - the staff were great, very polite people & helped me immensely. I felt as though my needs were met very adequately & fast. I appreciate Community North Behavioral Health.

I checked into the ER a couple of days ago. They couldn't identify a cause for my pain. As of this morning, it's unbearable, and more isolated to a single location I can identify, around the lower left side of my back. The ibuprofen does well at alleviating the pain likely caused by inflammation, all around my left side. But it's no longer strong enough to touch whatever is the source of the pain in that location. I don't know what to do. Do I go back to the same hospital, since they've already done labs and a catscan, even though they found no cause? Or do I go to a different hospital in a different network? I'm not impressed with Community North at all. Obviously something's wrong. This is the 4th day of severe pain. How could they not have found something?

I’ve been on the youth unit and the adult unit. Both were amazing for almost everything. Youth units are however more strict and follow a more exact schedule. Adults have way more freedom such as showers and calls being allowed pretty much anytime and calls don’t need to be approved by staff. However the doctors and social workers in both units lack in providing resources. I was recommended group therapy and DBT therapy and we asked for resources and they said they’d give us them but never did.

I was cyanide poisoned by a nurse named Josiah. The hospital just covered it up so I couldn't sue and refused to offer me care as I had convulsions and endless vomiting. They told me it was a marijuana with draw but I had gotten high hours before being thrown in there. It happened the first night in there. This place is great place to be murdered and have be completely hidden. The police told me they can't investigate because hospital has it own police. The hospital told me they would investigate but they wouldn't tell me anything about it.

Just from the front desk experience they need to find someone more understanding and compassionate. They also need to rethink their procedures where family is concerned instead of letting them camp out in the parking lot without any information because all we are told is you need the 4 digit code!! I would not bring my dog here.
