Upon
walking
in
with
my
daughter,
the
only
employees
I
saw
were
sitting
at
a
table
on
their
phones
against
the
window
near
the
counter.
I
approached
the
counter,
looked
up
at
the
menu
and
waited
for
some
help
because
it
appeared
that
most
of
the
bagel
varieties
were
not
readily
available.
Eventually
when
I
realized
no
one
was
coming,
I
looked
down
and
saw
a
self
ordering
tablet
(1
of
2
that
was
working).
I
poked
around
on
it
a
bit,
but
still
had
questions
before
placing
my
order.
I
offered
to
let
the
woman
waiting
behind
me
go
first,
since
nobody
was
going
out
of
their
way
to
help
her
out
either,
but
she
also
said
she'd
prefer
to
be
helped
by
an
actual
human
being.
So
I
proceeded
to
waive
someone
down
to
ask
if
any
more
fresh
bagels
would
be
coming
out
soon,
since
it
was
around
11:15
am,
right
before
the
lunch
rush.
Answer...
No.
I
went
ahead
and
settled
for
a
few
of
the
bagels
that
were
available
and
ordered
a
smoothie.
While
the
woman
did
end
up
giving
us
a
second
cup
with
extra
smoothie
in
it
(about
1/3rd
full),
the
bagels
didn't
seem
very
fresh
and
I
can't
help
but
think
at
least
some
of
the
employees
could
have
been
doing
more.
We
were
the
only
3
customers/people
in
sight,
but
yet
no
one's
manning
the
counter
(or
making
fresh
bagels
I
presume),
all
of
the
napkin
dispensers
were
empty,
there
was
trash
laying
around,
and
even
though
I'm
sure
they
were
about
to
get
hit
with
the
lunch
rush,
they're
sitting
around
on
their
phones?
Unless
it
was
during
shift
change
or
something,
I
guess
I
just
expected
more...
