DO NOT SIGN UP YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN TO THIS LOCATION! TWO (2) THEFT EXPERIENCES DURING SUMMER FUN COULD NOT BE A COINCIDENCE! LAST YEAR MY DAUGHTER'S CELL PHONE WAS STOLEN BY A CAMP KID & I LUCKILY HAD A GPS TRACKER SETUP TO RETRIEVE IT @ 2AM WHEN I GOT OFF OF WORK. THEN THIS YEAR MY SONS ENTIRE OUTFIT FROM THIS MORNING, TENNIS SHOES, WATER PLAY SHOES, TOWEL, WATER BOTTLE, LARGE CAN OF OFF SPRAY, & WET BAG DIDN'T MAKE IT HOME! IF YOU VALUE YOUR CHILDREN'S BELONGINGS AS I DO DO NOT SEND YOUR KID TO THIS LOCATION. I REPEAT DO NOT SIGN YOUR KIDS UP FOR SUMMER FUN!!!!! THE KIDS AREN'T SUPERVISED PROPERLY & THEIR SAFETY IS IN DANGER DUE TO THE LACK OF KNOWLEDGE /EXPERIENCE DEALING WITH CHILDREN! THERE'S NO WAY THIS WOULD SIT WELL WITH ANY CARONG PARENTS! TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR CHILDREN BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU'LL NEED IT!

I have been a member here for five years. My family and I enjoy this establishment it’s pretty busy but I can’t complain. Offers many of group classes the staff is very helpful and the pricing is good as well. They offer free child care up to two hours while you work out if you are a member.👍🏽

The outdoor pool is amazing, some of the staff are great like Walter , Helen and Miriam( swimming instructors), Kat in the kids section is awesome. The gym is well equipped and the Summer and Kids night out, kids programs are run efficiently. Showers can be smelly sometimes.

The guest are nice and friendly. The facility is always clean and supplies available. There's plenty of space to move around in all areas. The only contrasting encounter I experienced was when I asked an employee at the counter in the gym about a piece of equipment. Although he answered my question, I felt like my asking... was an intrusion. Otherwise, I enjoy the facilities because I know I see a guest who will extend a kind gesture. It is pleasing to know that I can feel good about the people I pass by here.

My son and niece go here for camps on school breaks. They enjoy it but went in to get my kids and they were not inside the classroom I asked several people multiple times where the kids were I kept getting directions to the wrong places until someone walked me outside to where they were. When I walked outside the lady who was watching the kids was on her phone.

Went in to explore membership options and to check out the workout facility area. Young lady at the front desk in the lobby area was not helpful at all. Passive aggressive tone and response to basic questions. Decided not to sign up… she probably could have sold me on it but, between the “attitude” and all the kids and screaming running around, this place is not for me.

The Jordan Brand YMCA has some of the best employees. My two small children LOVE their swim classes. Walter and Laura are their teachers, and they are both kind, patient, fun, and overall EXCELLENT instructors. My kids look forward to the classes all week :)

Daycare YMCA is the Horrible place Iv ever see. I enrolled my daughter in this daycare. First moment she was super happy and excited to be in. I dropped her off everything was good. I left to go doing my exercise. After 40 minutes the teacher brought my daughter with tears 😭 and yelling to the exercise I saw my daughter running between the sport tools. I run back to talk to the teacher why my daughter here. She said bc we couldn't calming her down.can you please talk to your daughter and calming her down. The child should not be running in the place ever there was no emergency situation to brought her back to me . I asked the manager about the owner contact info. No one answered. Please have me any one charge of this YMCA. I'm really had a Bad day my daughter as well.

I drive 25 minutes from downtown to go to the YMCA during the summer for the outdoor pool. I eat a lunch in a designated picnic area that I bring from home, and plop down on a lounge chair to relax. There r always chairs! The only thing I would change is to shut off the music they play aloud…. I bring my own music and listen to it with headphones on and I can't hear it cuz it's competing with their outdoor music, that's geared towards 40 year olds. Iol !!! But not that big of a deal

Our first year of membership has been great. Whenever we are in town at least one of our family is at the Y every single week.

A few short years ago, this location was one of my favorite places for a stellar swim workout (and a 5 star review would be a no -brainer). I find myself wondering if I'm the only one who feels that whoever decided on the outdoor summer pool schedules: *1- Doesn't have children *2- Is not an athletic person *3- Is definitely not a swimmer *4- Is somewhat out of touch with the preference (s) of the community *5- Doesn't spent much time outdoors *6- Inadequate communication skills It's been said that: "Socialism is just Communism for Slow Learners." I've personally lived in a communist country, so the subtle beginnings of such draconian policies stand out like viewing two suns in the sky. With the knowledge that: *1- Summers are too short *2- Working people with kids are (typically) only free on Saturdays and Sundays... WHY would *ALL* of the pools in the Indianapolis area be *CLOSED ON SUNDAY....???* This decision certainly seems indicative of a lack of genuine connectivity with members who support what's supposed to be an institution based upon *Christian values.* What gives a miniscule percentage of the city's population, aka the bureaucracy, the power to make such a **sweeping decision to include EVERY YMCA in the area....?** I've also noticed that it's becoming more and more the norm for these administrative level people to be *completely inaccessible* on the phone. You won't find a contact number anymore. If you're lucky to find an email address, your message is metaphorically compared to blowing bubbles into the wind. I'm speaking out on behalf of the significant percentage of the Y members; every single day I hear them voice the same dissatisfaction with the outdoor pools Sunday closures (and 10 minute safety breaks for the adults). We're all exhausted with hearing the same excuse over the last two years: "We don't have enough lifeguards." It's not a case of a shortage on guards; it's more evidence of a shortage of creativity, ingenuity and higher intelligence. It seems appropriate to conclude with an overly used, modern day cliche mantra: ""We're just doing what we're told."" ""We're just (blindly) following the rules ""

The staff at the YMCA is very friendly and knowledgeable. The activities offered are geared for all ages and genders. The tae kwon do program is wonderful! My daughter has greatly improved in regards to her skills because of the awesome instructors.

We are big fans of the Jordan Y, particularly the Play & Learn staff. Kat, and the rest of the team are excellent. They are better with kids than most daycares in my experience. All of the Jordan Y staff are warm and friendly, making it a place you want to spend your time.

I cannot recommend the Jordan Y more strongly. The early learning program is affordable and offers so much! It is such a supportive and positive community for our family. The drop off child care is also incredibly affordable and it has been a lifesaver for me as a new grad student and working mom.

I’ve been coming here for years, love the environment, love the gym as a whole…. However I just spoke w/ a Laura, her tone was very uninviting and she didn’t seemed too thrilled that she chose the ymca as her place of employment.

5 stars to Kat in the daycare. She remembers my sons name, is excited to see him and is so kind everytime we see her. She is the best and probably deserves a raise. 5 stars to Trudy in pilates. She pushes me to work hard and improve every week. She's excited for my accomplishments and makes every workout fun.

The YMCA is a wonderful place for non swimmers who want to learn to swim. My swim teacher Scott is amazing. He taught me to float above and underwater the first class. He is very motivational.

Friendly staff. Nice workout area. I love the mats for stretching. Pool is never crowded inside. They got the biggest play and learn I seen.

  • 2/5 Michael J. 1 year ago on Google
They don’t have enough room and don’t have enough lifting equipment. The locations of the equipment isn’t very thought out and a decent portion of the cardio equipment goes unused. Pricing isn’t great if you’re someone who doesn’t have a family. I end up paying for a lot of amenities that’s I’ll never use and they’re raising the price. My experience with the checkin and fitness staff has been very pleasant, they’re the only reason this isn’t a one star review. The sales staff was very rude during my time of sign up. I’m very ready to find a new gym.

  • 3/5 Drew G. 1 year ago on Google
Don't get me wrong, its a nice facility, but as the others said, it may not be worth it if you're a single person without children. A regular gym is better for me, personally.

Lots to offer at this location. Great mix of people too, young and old enjoy this facility together. Staff is friendly as are the other members. Some recent upgrades made it better but some of the equipment could use updating still. Good experience here overall and for the price, it's hard to beat.

The people at the Jordan Y are friendly and accommodating. I work out in the gym daily and the availability of exercise equipment is never a problem. My grandson attends preschool and 2 granddaughters go to daycare at the Y and the the staff are amazing at both classrooms.

Great selection of equipment, cardio machines and free weights. A lot of classes and team sports. The cost is moderate. Staff is friendly. You can use all the Ys in the area at no extra charge. FtBen has great pools and water aerobic classes. It is a bit packed right now at "busy"times due to the influx of new years resolution people.. That will go down about mid February. Enjoy! Get your sweat on!

Had the WORST experience this evening with communication with front desk associate Jane. She does not know how to use the system, not knowledgeable of events at the branch and tends to provide inaccurate information. Additionally, she was careless in mispronouncing my husbands name and in apologetic about the inconvenience she caused my family and I. If you use this branch, ensure that you seek assistance from someone else.

Facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff is great. Started going there before I was married and liked it, but didn't really understand how great the Y is until I had kids. The childcare is awesome. Well worth the fee for a family with young kids.

I visited this branch of the Indy Y for the first time this past week and was impressed. I got a great tour, and the staff members I spoke with were very helpful. It's not one of the newest YMCA facilities in the Indy Y association, but they have great people and programs, and I'm looking forward to more experiences there!
