The
events
I've
been
to
have
been
universally
awesome,
but
the
fairgrounds
themselves
leave
something
to
be
desired.
Getting
in
to
park
is
a
nightmare,
and
they
usually
only
open
one
or
two
gates
maximum,
so
extensive
traffic
backs
up
among
38th
Street
and
Fall
Creek.
Parking
in
the
surrounding
neighborhoods
is
sometimes
an
option
but
it's
riskier.
The
buildings
are
not
well
marked,
and
they're
a
little
run
down.
The
bathrooms
are
usually
either
dirty
or
unstocked,
but
one
bright
point
is
the
drinking
fountains--
the
water
is
good
and
cold,
and
they
now
have
the
bottle-filling
stations.
I
understand
that
the
volume
of
people
passing
through
the
fairgrounds
makes
it
difficult
to
maintain,
but
some
of
these
events
are
costly,
and
it's
disappointing
to
get
all
dressed
up
and
excited
for
an
event,
only
to
be
stuck
in
line,
shuffling
across
concrete
floors,
the
walls
chipping
paint.
With
the
funds
they
pull
in
from
expos,
the
state
fair,
company
events,
etc,
I'm
surprised
they
don't
invest
more
in
the
infrastructure,
the
aesthetics,
and
a
better
method
for
getting
cars
off
38th
Street
and
onto
the
grounds.
Like
I
said,
though,
all
the
events
I've
attended
have
been
really
enjoyable.
The
Indiana
State
Fair
is
ALWAYS
worth
going
once,
maybe
a
few
times,
every
year;
the
gun
and
knife
shows
have
some
excellent
products
and
prices;
most
recently,
the
Oddities
and
Curiosieties
Expo
was
incredible,
with
so
many
unique
vendors.
The
tickets
were
for
a
designated
time
in
an
effort
to
control
the
crowd,
but
it
was
still
difficult
to
get
up
to
each
both
because
there
were
so
many
people.
They
also
had
circus
performers,
but
the
stage
was
low,
and
there
was
no
seating,
so
no
one
beyond
maybe
the
first
6
rows
of
people
could
see
anything,
and
there
was
no
mic
so
the
acoustics
made
it
hard
to
hear.
Still,
as
long
as
the
fairgrounds
continues
to
host
cool
events,
I'll
continue
to
go,
despite
the
minor
issues.
