🕍🕍🕍@SHEESH MAHAL, INDORE, MADHYA PRADESH Kanch Mandir (Hindi: काँच मंदिर), literally Temple of Glass, is a famous Jain temple in Indore, built by Sir Seth Hukumchand Jain. The construction began sometime around 1903. Sir Seth Seth Hukumchand Jain was a prominent trader and one of India's industrial pioneer. He built a mansion at Itwaria Bazar called Shish Mahal and adjacent to it the Kanch Ka Mandir, both elegantly built using a white stone. Externally, the temple is built as a medieval mansion complete with a canopied balcony and a shikhara. Jain festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Kach Ka Mandir. On Sugandh Dashami, special mandalas are constructed using multi-colored rice-powder. Collective kshamavani (festival of forgiveness) in Indore is organized here as a central institution, even though it is also celebrated at other Indore Jain temples. Annual Ratha Yatra on a golden palaki is taken our from here.

This is a Digambar Jain Kaanch Temple. This temple is related with Jain religion. Temple is with amazing looks. Temple background is amazing. Multi coloured glass, truly beautiful. If you come there you feel a lot of piece. There is a facility of drinking water. Parking is very useful. The sheesh mahal is a Jain temple come museum of sorts. Each glass mural tells a story from Jain Scriptures. Many coincide with stories from the Ramayan. Worth a detailed look into.

The sheesh mahal (Temple of Glass) is a famous Jain temple cum museum in Indore, built by Sir Seth Hukumchand Jain. Its hard to describe it's art work. The interior of Kanch Ka Mandir is entirely covered by glass panels and mosaics; including the floor, columns, walls and the ceilings. All design are made of glass pieces, all art work is done by piece of coloured glasses. Its one of the famous tourist places in Indore

The interior of Kanch Ka Mandir is entirely covered by glass panels and mosaics; including the floor, columns, walls and the ceilings. Photography is banned inside the Mahal, it has religious value also and is also known as kaanch Mandir. There are statues of Jain's Tirthankaras, you have to take of your shoes out side the mandir and also keep ur bags outside. It really a small place. Hardly it will take 15 mins to visit this place.

Beautiful art inside but not well maintained. Possibly some renovation may happen. If you are in the surroundings, do visit the place, but it's ok to miss.

Just loved it.... It is so beautiful.. floor to top, everything is decorated with mirror. It is mesmerizing... They should have properly maintained it. Mirrors are broken somewhere of the floor. But a must visit place to appreciate the art work..

Mahal was actually made up of glass/mirror as its name says (sheesh). There was not much to see inside. Also, it was too small like only a one-hall size. Photo capturing was not allowed that’s why couldn't capture many photos.

It was okay. Inside the temple its really pretty. photography isnt allowed. There were a couple of old guys managing it and they were constantly yelling at everyone and were really loud. It killed the vibe. The paintings inside are amazing however. Its a really beautiful temple.

This site is nice and tranquil, although it is really busy outside the Sheesh Mahal. And the interior of the Sheesh Mahal is entirely constructed of mirrors 🪞.
