We had such a lovely stay at Carisbrooke Guest House! The hosts were so welcoming and hospitable, and offered great local recommendations. Plus, breakfast was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.

Positives: Great location for easy walking access to the restaurants and shops in downtown Inverness. The owner was very kind and attentive. Negatives: Our room was quite small, as was the bathroom. The bed is a full size by American sizing standards, so it was a tough fit for us (husband is 6’3”). I also found the sheets incredibly itchy, so it was hard to get fully comfortable.

Overall a great experience. An old school Bed & Breakfast. The owners were fantastic, always ready and willing to help with whatever is needed. Great location, an easy walk to stores, restaurants etc. Breakfast in the morning was just perfect!

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon road-trip around Scotland and had the most wonderful time. The rooms were clean and cozy, the breakfast was tasty, and Joy was helpful and welcoming. The location is perfect within Inverness and we were able to walk easily around the city. Thank you!

Wonderful one night stay, super comfortable room, amazing owner/host. Great breakfast and perhaps the best shower of the trip. Also a pretty good location. Really added a pleasant extra layer to our stop in Inverness. Highly recommended.

Lovely guest house within 5 minutes walk of Inverness town centre. Rooms large enough for a short stay, all en suite. Rooms quiet, despite being on a busy roadOwner Joy is welcoming, and great customer service, very helpful. Two rooms at the back have a private entrance, outside main house. Good cooked breakfast. Lounge in main house. Spot on. Stayed two nights for Etape Loch Ness cycle event.

Absolutely first class. A comfortable well furnished guest house. Immaculately clean. Ample sized rooms. A short walk into town. Carpark for the hire car. A bit of road noise from outside but that doesn't prevent a good night's sleep in the comfy bed. I understand the breakfast is hearty, I did not partake. Tea/ coffee in the room, a decent shower. Very happy with my stay here!

*EDIT* Since this review, the hotel decided to refund their charge and finally uphold their cancellation policy. Incredibly poor service. We booked a stay with a clear cancellation policy, but our trip there had to be sadly cancelled and so we tried ringing the hotel almost two months before the required cancellation deadline. There was no reply so we emailed instead. On the day of our original check-in, we received a call from them, and after explaining that we cancelled the room, the advisor was suddenly incredibly rude, telling us that we were wrong, that we hadn't cancelled it, and that their systems don't have those details. He requested we send the email to prove that we notified them. After immediately forwarding the email we had sent them, months ago, we were contacted by someone named Joy. They bluntly rejected the evidence that they requested, and we had provided, regardless of it being exactly what they asked for. We emailed again with further evidence of the email being sent to them. Joy then replied, rejecting again any evidence we had provided, refusing to honour their cancellation policy, stating that a confirmation was required (a policy which was stated nowhere). They then told us the decision was final and that they would not communicate with us any further, and charged our card the full room fee. Overall the customer service has been appalling, with the hotel refusing to honour their own policies, for their financial gain. We suggest any new guests be cautious.

Excellent stay, spotless clean, breakfast was first class. I had the Scrambled eggs and fresh salmon was superb. We will be coming back again in the future. Joy is very friendly too, nothing is too much trouble. Well done keep up the good work 👍🏻

Oh, my! What a wonderful place to stay! We felt like we were visiting friends. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was very tasty and good options. The location was very good, on the north side of the river, in a more residential area of the city. Easy to get across the river, but we found everything we needed on this side. Plenty of good restaurants, grocery market, laundry, and even a barber for my husband. Parking was interesting, but we did manage to find a place to park each time. From this location, it was quick and easy to get on the highway to go around the area. We would highly recommend Carisbrooke Guest House to anyone wanting to visit Inverness or the Scottish Highlands!

Hosts Joy and Elise were the first people we met in Inverness and they were the epitome of kindness. The room was spotless, comfortable, conveniently located, and had everything we needed for our stay all for a very reasonable price. A great basecamp to explore Inverness from!

Power shower with AMAZING pressure! Clean and beautiful Scottish ensuit guest house room. A warm and friendly welcome. Near enough town and not too busy outside during the night facing the road had the window open. Modern upgrades with Scotish decor made it an excellent stay. Several private off road parking spaces available.

I've been here 3 times now. The first time I was doing the nc500 by bicycle on my own so it was a pretty nerve-wracking experience prior to setting off. Joy and Elci were amazing and welcoming hosts. Nothing changes a year later. Lovely clean rooms, very welcoming and lovely breakfast. Joy to the world!

Stayed overnight 18/19th May. Excellent stay - plenty of off-road parking for our motorcycles and able to wash them off. We stayed in annex rooms which were spotless and comfortable. Excellent breakfast and only a few minutes walk to the river bridge and the centre of Inverness. Thoroughly recommended.

Really a delightful place to stay! The room I stayed in was brand-new, pristine, and purpose built and I had so much space, particularly for a solo room! Joy was a fantastic host, really quick to follow up on requests, super friendly and fun. He even came out the morning I checked out to say bye which I appreciated.

This is a great place to stay, and We can't recommend it highly enough. Spotlessly clean, in a very nice and peaceful location. We would like to mention that every detail and every corner of the interiors are made with love and perfect taste. Our hosts, Joy and Elci are a lovely couple and the welcome we received on arrival was warm and generous and nothing was too much triuble during our stay The breakfast was impeccable. This may have been the first time we stayed here, it certainly won't be the last!
