Must visit the north fork trail of big pine lake. The 7 lakes hikes are the most wonderful hikes I have ever done. Not for beginners. Beginners can hike and camp at lake 3.

Such a beautiful Natl. Forest!! Such a crazy variety of plants and scenery, from an abundant field of Joshua Trees to the Ancient Bristlecones! You can almost always see the backside of the Eastern Sierras then when checking out the bristlecone pine forest, you can see a sliver of Death Valley! 1000% recommend for those who are eager to explore 🌐🀘

I love the Eastside like a second home. With so many outdoor activities to choose from its almost too much, but in a good way. Don't miss The Great Basin Bakery in Bishop or Pupfish Cafe. Both are hidden gems and you can avoid the tourists. However Shatts Bakery does have so superb bread and pastries. Make a stop in the Buttermilks if you are a climber, or enjoy fishing along the Owen's River or one of the many lakes. Lake Crowley and Convit Lake are not to be missed if you are making your way to Mammoth. Give yourself plenty of time to enjoy all the things, and see what a little time out in mother nature can do for you.

I was able to hit up Devils Post Pile and do a quick trip in Mammoth. Adorable town, great restaurants, but my motivation was to get a glimpse of the Minarets, which I will be backpacking to next summer. I have always passed by Mammoth on the way to or from a different camping/backpacking location, and this time, made sure I stopped. We arrives after labor day so we had our choice of the first come first serve campgrounds between Reds Meadow and Agnew Meadow. We drove through them all and selected Minaret Falls. We had a campsite on the river with our own private beach. The views really do take your breath away. Funny thing sheer beauty has always made me cry, so I came up with a "cry factor" rating to explain. How beautiful something is. Mammoth is cry factor 10, no controlling the waterworks. The few photos I have do it NO justice.

Gorgeous area. Has it all: beautiful mountains, raging snow melt "rivers," abandoned mines, birds, animals, canyons, sunsets.. Perfect to explore with lots of space. Some roads were still closed when I was there end of May/first bit of June due to snow. Lots of camp and RV sites, & pulloffs for taking photos.

Such a beautiful place where you don’t have to worry about reservations and all this non sense when you are a true camper. There are many sites to see, and things to do. Camping with family might not be ideal since its not your typical camping grounds and wildlife is prominent. However, where we visited there was a restroom facility that is closed during the winter. Our images were taken in June, so it was interesting to see the snow and feel the chilly weather.

Enjoyed it tremendously. So much snow. Nice fresh air. Very relaxing. Couldn't go to any lakes at higher elevation, everything was closed. So beautiful, had a good time showing a co-worker around.

It's the perfect place to camp on the ground, it's like a beach forest and the sand is soft enough to sleep on

Beautiful! Camped at Red's Meadow which sits perfectly between rainbow falls and devils post pile. You can split it into 2 Days of hiking or do what we did and hike to both attractions in one shot! It's a nice hike so be prepared! πŸ’ͺ😎✌️

Inyo is a hidden gem. Go... make the drive, hike to the craters. We LOVED Inyo and will definitely be back. Wallace Stegner said many years ago that "National Parks are the best idea we ever had. Absolutely American, absolutely democratic, they reflect us at our best rather than our worst".

Hiked Mt Whitney on October 10, 2022. It was a Monday but that's when we could get a permit for. Started at 2am from the Portal and summited at 10am. Please acclimate beforehand. My two partners had to both stop during the switchbacks. Snow was forecast for 2pm but it hit right when I was on the summit. Downhill got tricky, especially the portion between summit and switchbacks where trail is rocky and narrow. And then around Trail Camp, trail was tough to find as it was all covered in snow. Slowly and steadily got back safely. There's a lot of high rocks, so be prepared for your quads and glutes to take a beating on the downhill.

A unique and exquisite national park. The first part from the trail head to the first campsite is almost flat and can be done by almost everyone. From the first camp to the summit camp for Mount Whitney is a bit harder and the summit push is both a mental and physical challenge mainly due to altitude and length of the climb.

Beautiful location. Fishing isn't great this year due to bacterial infection at the hatchery and no stocking.

Devils Pool, Rainbow Falls, fish creek, a few lakes all in 1 place. So much to discover! All for a $10 entrance fee.

Beautiful area with plenty of space and amazing views all around. Lots of free and reserved camping, multiple lakes, and necessary civilization never too too far away. Only downside is the amount of curved roads needed to get anywhere. Not a big deal to me, but those with vulnerable stomachs may have some trouble.
