Between 2012 & 2017 I spent 4 stays with the Lodge/ARC and had nothing but superior experiences. Each stay was 10 days and without exaggeration I discovered something I had not seen before on every single day. The guides are excellent and your days are planned to focus on your individual interests. I have visited in high water 3 times and during low water once --- both low & high water offer great opportunities for experiencing the wonders of jungle. My personal preference is high water when you can canoe through the flooded canopy while still having some higher land where waters force a denser concentration of wildlife than during low water. If you provide your areas of interest Paul & the team will guide your choice of the best time to visit.

An incredible experience. You could not get more remote than the Tahuayo lodge and the research center, the 2 together a must! An incredible amount of wildlife, so many birds, butterflies, bats and primates. Mornings were incredible to wake up to all the different noises of the Amazon. The guides were so knowledgeable and respectful of the wildlife. The food at the lodge and research center was amazing. This is an incredible education and a once-in-a-lifetime trip. A must stay in the Peruvian Amazon!

Fly into the largest city in the world that is not connected with the rest of the world by road then take a four hour boat ride deep into the Amazon jungle. There you’ll find magic at Tahuayo Lodge. Fantastic staff, fresh and delicious food, and incredible experiences every day. Our guide, Javier, was wonderful and the flexibility of having our own guide and being able to choose all our own activities meant we had a trip specifically tailored to be the best experience we could have asked for. This place is a must do when visiting Peru and I’d never even consider staying anywhere else.

We stayed at Tahuayo Lodge and at the Amazon Research Center with Amazonia Expeditions. The accommodations are simple but nice and functional. There are real beds with mattresses and enough storage space. The sanitary facilities are clean and functional. The lounges are comfortably furnished. I especially liked the hammock room for chilling. The dining and common areas are large and airy, so it's a pleasure to be there. The food was plentiful and healthy. I liked the popcorn hour at 18:00 as a nice time to share photos and experiences of the day. The staff was great - I was able to exchange ideas about local plants and recipes with the kitchen staff as well. Our guide Fernando was especially great - he showed us animals we would never have discovered on our own. He explained a lot to me about the animals but also about plants, their importance for traditional medicine and about the culture and history of the people in the region. We saw many different monkeys, birds, reptiles and sloths. Once we tried to see a pack of peccaries, which we succeeded in doing thanks to Fernando, despite the shyness of the animals. The nature is overwhelming and the silence and distance from the noisy civilization makes you find the inner peace. The owner and founder of the lodge and his representative did the planning of the trip with us. Very professional and also the handling was easy and safe. We could choose our activities freely and flexibly according to the weather or our energy level. The 15 days of our trip were filled with different activities and a lot of variety. I really enjoyed the Zip Line ride. I was a little scared at first, but the staff is professional and everything is safe. We were able to ride again at the end of the stay - as I said - planning is flexible and individual. I thank everyone there for a great stay and look forward to next time.

We had the most amazing time at the Tahuayo Lodge and at the Research Center. My husband is an avid fisherman. The fishing was fantastic. The wildlife was absolutely breath taking to watch. From monkeys in the tree tops, to birds swooping down to catch a fish, to the beautiful dart frogs nestled in the leaves of a bromeliad. Our guide, Javier, was the best! He took us to the best fishing spots and expertly pointed out the wildlife. He explained to us the mission of the lodge and what amazing things they do to support their community and the people who live there. We were able to go to El Chino village and purchase hand made gifts made by the local women. The entire staff was FANTASTIC!! Everyone was so polite and helpful. The food was delicious. The chefs at both lodges are incredibly talented. The rooms and grounds were immaculately clean. You can tell that they all genuinely care about the facility and their guests. I would 100 % recommend (and have) Amazonia Expeditions to anyone looking to travel to the Amazon.

This was an experience of a lifetime in the Peruvian Amazon. The lodge was a perfect place to stay in the jungle. We saw birds, animals, went fishing. Our guide, Ronald, went above and beyond to show us the beauty of the Amazon. Zip lining was exciting and we loved the visit to a neighboring community to see the school that the Lodge has built. Great for families, couples and singles.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience. We were the only guests at the Tahuayo Lodge for a few days as well as at the ARC. The accommodations were great, the food was awesome and the staff were some of the best people i have ever met. The jungle guides were the most knowledgeable and experts at what they do. They would meet with us every night after dinner and then again in the AM to make sure the plan they had worked out for the day was to our liking. We were in the jungle and conditions change so the updates were very good to get. If you are looking for a jungle experience filled with flora and fauna then this is the place to go!! From start to finish the company made sure we were up to date in all the changing regulations due to Covid. They were very flexible when airline schedules kept changing and made our schedule work for them. The most important thing I would like to stress is that the staff at both lodges were the most welcoming staff of any place we have travelled in the world. They absolutely could not have been better to us in any way!! No matter what we wanted to do, wanted to eat, needed help with or needed something to be more comfortable they were there in some cases before we even asked. They were very fun loving as well. Amazonia Expeditions and their non profit, Angels of the Amazon, are top notch!! The work they do to make your trip the most memorable is well above and beyond!! You cannot go wrong with these folks!! Honestly can't wait to go back some day!!!

We had the best experience with Tahuayo Lodge! The rooms were beautiful, the view over the river is gorgeous, and the food served each day was incredible. Our guide, Aladino, was local to the area and super knowledgeable about the plants and animal that habitat the area, we got to see some incredible animals thanks to his eagle eye (snakes, birds, monkeys, sloths, cayman, and more)! They had a ton of activities available, our favorites were swimming with the pink dolphins and ziplining through the rainforest. Cannot recommend this place more if you're looking to visit the Peruvian Amazon!

Our family (including an 11 and 8 year old) had an incredible and unforgettable experience staying at the Tahuayo Lodge. The accommodations are beautiful, the staff incredibly attentive, and our guide (Ronald) helped us customize every jungle outing. We saw amazing wildlife, traversed Amazon tributaries in canoes, went to sleep to a concert of bird calls, and ziplined through the canopy. We can't wait to come back and explore more of the Amazon with them.

I have nothing but great things to say about the staff and especially my guide Juan and Bryan. They did not disappoint in providing me with an adventure!! The food was top notch, the staff was always smiling and very friendly. I do hope to come for a visit soon, hopefully Juan will be my guide and we can trekk off grid, exploring new areas and maybe even spend a night or two out in the jungle. A very humbling experience and I will appreciate my time in the jungle for the rest of my life.

We had an excellent experience in the jungle! We spent Christmas in the jungle, playing football and singing and dancing with children in the villages. Everyone is nice and friendly. We had to change our itinerary because of cusco's strike action and spent about eight days in the jungle. But I think it was well worth the experience! We swam in the Amazon River, went to look for animals by boat, hiking and stargazing. I really enjoy my time in nature, although there is no signal and wifi is slow, but how many days in life can I really put down my gadgets and enjoy spending time with my friends? We met guests from all over the world at the lodge, and everyone was happy to share their stories. I enjoyed meeting people from different walks of life and hearing different life stories.
