Spectacular, apparently 10 minutes from Glencolmcille and well worth a visit. This is the nicest beach I have ever seen in Ireland. It's a long drive to get here but it's worth it. There is a car park and a hike down the cliff on purpose made stairs.

Absolutely fabulous sheltered soft sand beach. The climb up and down the steps is definitely worth the visit. There's also a lovely Waterfall in the nearby cliffs that can be heard when you truly sit back and listen to the sounds around you!

Great beach with some spectacular views. Some dead sheep on the rocks would put you off with the smell, but other than that it's a relatively clean and tidy. Would definitely go back here again. FYI - if you forget anything in the car.....it's a long walk back up the 170 steps or so !!!!

It's a beautiful beach but I wouldn't recommend to everyone because of the walk up and down the stairs very hard indeed

One of the best place in Co Donegal and on Wild Atlantic Way. Beach is very big, whole place is just spectacular. Defiantly worth to visit if you are in Ireland.

Hidden gem. Stop at the Silver Strand café for grub before or after your visit. LOTS of steps down to the small beach. Well worth it. So picturesque. So tranquil. So secluded. So perfect.

Beautiful beach but you need to climb up and down atleast 100 steps to get to the actual beach. Be sure to carry food and water as we couldn't find a decent restaurant around. Also another important point to remember there are no washrooms!

One of Ireland's most beautiful beaches! A great place for lovers of hidden, calm and not very crowded beaches, fans of stairs and swimmers. The roads to get there are narrow and you'll encounter more sheeps than cars in traffic. Cell phone coverage is lousy, so bring a book and some time to relax here. It's definitely worth a visit...and please take your trash with you! Loved it here and we're lucky to have found Silver Beach.

The most stunning and amazing beach I have ever been into. The drive is bit difficult but the place is worth the ride.

Absolutely hidden beautiful beach. And surprisingly warm in winter. Be ready to go down a mountain of stairs. But totally worth it. When we looked down from the parking, we were like its heaven. But are we going down from these stairs? Didn't see any other way, so we did. It's clean and calm.

A great beach the west strand may be smaller than the other Portrush beach the east strand but is in no way inferior. The west strand has a well lit prom a large well maintained area of grass good clean public toilets . Large free car park. A good place to bring the dog allowed on the beach at certain times of the year. The town end is right beside harbour. Lovely views and sunsets. My favorite part of the town. ☹️ Sadly since I wrote this review the access to the beech from the Dhu Varren end has been blocked The reason sand erosion ?. I have been using this point of access to the West strand beech for many many years and the sand has always risen and dropped. The concrete that enables access to the beech has been destroyed and probably the lack of it's maintenance and repair has led to one of best parts of Portrush being a less pleasurable experience. Hopefully the problem with the concrete ramp will soon be sorted as quickly as the problem was with the east strand a few years ago.

Amazing views from clifftop, access is by stairway, well built with handrails and resting places, the beach is fabulous fine sand with plenty of space, my wife and I have visited many times and never seen more than 30 people even on the sunniest of days, fabulous, one to put on your places to visit.

Disgrace the public toilets weren't open

This beach has a large car park with toilets. It's very busy on a sunny day when there's usually an ice cream van. It's a nice walk from here to Portstewart and back (tarmac path along the coast). Plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby.

Great beach, lovely views and clean and well kept. The public toilets are not kept as well. Smell of urine would knock you over unless I was just unlucky.

This place is AMAZING at sunrise, not many people about and the view is just spectacular. A great place to come if you just want to go for a quiet stroll in the morning, however it does get rather busy (packed) during the day. It does however loose a star due to the condition of the loos, they could be better... although that might be more a reflection of the people using them rather than the staff maintaining them.

Great beach and has Alive Surf school located here for all your surfing needs. Only thing stopping it being 5stars is its height restriction limits it to only 4 parking spaces for taller vehicle's or camper Van's. Toilets are good and short accessible path to town also.

Well google wants a review... what can I tell you? You will find all the expected amenities like sand and seagulls...a fairly large linear car park with a choke point entry under a train bridge - which is good fun when its busy if you enjoy games involving your clutch pedal. Watch out for flying chip wrappers and empty WKDs bottles on those warm summer evenings...
