This beach must be one of Ireland's best kept secrets. It is a huge stretch of golden sand washed by the Atlantic Ocean. We walked along it for miles not seeing anyone else. The backdrop is sand dunes and beyond forest. The emptiness and peace were quite overwhelming in an amazingly beautiful setting. The imagination was allowed to run riot with uninhibited openness. The absence of any human impact was so noticeable save a concrete pill box like structure which seem almost alien in such an original environment. It is an experience not be missed.

Fantastic sandy beach. There's a car park nearby, connected to the beach via a timber boardwalk. There are toilets located in the car park also, should they be required.

Beautiful beach and a nice stone bench which allows you to view the sea without having to go down onto the sand. The carpark is situated on the edge of a wood land area which has great walk. Very popular for dog walkers and children. Seems to be good for paddle boarding. The car park is near the beach but you can't see it until you take the path to the beach.

Excellent sandy beach with a lovely constrast of the Dunes and forest at the back. At low tide you can walk out quite far. Beautiful stretch of coastline with great views of the Mountains and Donegal Bay. It is quiter than Rossnowlagh which isnt that far away and has toilet facilities. You won't be disappointed.

Make it your own wee corner of heaven and you'll not want to leave. Everything a sun lover could ask for and more. The winding road is worth the adventure getting to this beach.

Very nice place. Perfect for walking your dog or without 😀. The beach is long, great for long walks. There are several alternative routes through grass or forest, so one place and many possibilities.

One of my all time favourite beaches. Great spot for children to have fun, either on the beach or playing in the forest. Highly recommend this beach to rosnowlagh any day.

Fabulous beach with stunning views of slieve league on the right hand side and Ben bulbin on the left. Love the beautiful stones towards the rosnowlagh side of beach. And then the fabulous woods with 200 year old trees there

Murvagh is a clean, sandy beach, about four and a half kilometres long, on the west coast of County Donegal. The beach, which has been awarded Blue Flag status, is backed by sand dunes, which are designated as a Special Area of Conservation and then by Murvagh Forest. Murvagh Beach is located on the south west coast of County Donegal. It’s a 15-minute drive from Ballyshannon and Donegal Town and a 20-minute drive from Bundoran. There’s only one road up to Murvagh Beach and – thankfully! – there’s a big old car park right at the end (here on Google Maps). A sandy path on the western side of the car park will then take you straight to the beach.

Wonderful - a great place to take dogs. I’m not sure what it’s like in the summer but it was a great place to visit. We found it really relaxing and peaceful.

Fantastic wee place. Parking limited but has never been packed. Great board walk out to beach for all age groups and not too far to walk either. In peak season there is usually a portable toilet available too. Seems very popular for dog owners too. Beside a nice little forest area too.

Beautiful beach, we almost had it to ourselves. We walked the whole length taking an hour and a half at a brisk pace. There and back of course. The photos speak for themselves.

Never trust the weather forecast. Go the Murvagh even if the weather is less than perfect, you won't regret it.

Beautiful and peaceful beach. Now with better parking. Only downfall is no public toilets nearby. But still definitely worth a trip
