Cappuccino’s Smoking Section Removed – Impact on Customers & Business I am disappointed with the removal of Cappuccino’s well-ventilated, enclosed smoking section, which was not just about smoking, but about choice, fairness, and business impact. This was a fully enclosed section within the restaurant, clearly marked as a smoking area. To enter, customers walked through a door into a separate space that had two large windows, an aircon, and a back door—ensuring proper ventilation and complete separation from non-smokers. It was designed to provide a comfortable space for everyone without interfering with non-smoking patrons. So why was it removed? The reality is that many restaurants continue to operate with little to no ventilation, yet they remain unaffected by such restrictions. Meanwhile, a place that invested in proper separation and air circulation has had its smoking section taken away. If the space was legally compliant, well-ventilated, and caused no inconvenience to others, why was it necessary to remove it? I am a regular at Cappuccino’s, and many others are too—coming in daily for meetings, lunch, socialising, or to get some work done. This was a bustling section where people could gather and enjoy their time without interrupting non-smokers, as it was fully enclosed. The freedom to sit in a designated, ventilated space—separate from non-smokers—was something many valued. Now, that choice has been taken away, and its removal affects both customers and the business itself. On busy days, weekends, and evenings, this section was always in demand, and shutting it down not only impacts customer experience but also reduces the restaurant’s revenue. Now, not only does the business lose income, but customers who relied on this space no longer have that option. A one-size-fits-all approach ignores the fact that Cappuccino’s had already implemented the necessary measures to accommodate everyone fairly. Removing an area that followed all necessary health and ventilation regulations feels unnecessary and unfair. At the end of the day, it’s not just about smoking—it’s about allowing customers and businesses the right to make choices that work for them....

5 stars for great service and fantastic food! First of all, kudos to our waitress, she was so patient and kind and followed instructions really well. The food and drinks were served timeously and everything was absolutely delicious. It was really great to have a great experience in this trying pandemic period we’re living in. I definitely recommend trying the chicken livers and the pasta was cooked to perfection! We will definitely be going back.

We always receive Wonderful service from Tendai and all of his colleagues! They are amazing and super friendly waiters! We love the atmosphere at Cappuccinos Southdowns. Just a suggestion. The smoking section would make a great kids play area! Southdowns and Midstream are very family orientated surrounds and Southdowns shopping centre doesn’t have a kid friendly restaurant. The smoking area is perfect as it’s closed off. If you get a child minder and make it into a play area, you will get so many new customers. We are excited for the upgrades!

Excellent cocktails! Some dishes were not available, but what we ordered was scrumptious. Good small function or friends get together venue.

We love the view over Centurion, food is great (mozzarella sticks especially!). Friendly service! All round ambiance is relaxing and welcoming.

Tried it out for the same time I would give the place a solid 3.5/5 Wasn’t impressed with the quarter chicken didn’t taste too fresh But the chips were nice The cocktails are strong and tasty The service was good and fast Would recommend but maybe try something else besides the chicken

We had the friendliest waiter I've ever experienced. Service was top notch. The atmosphere is modern with a lovely view over Centurion. Sprayers outside help a little to cool you down. The food portions are very big, with all meals coming with 2 choices of sides, and there is everything under the sun to choose from. What a treat.
