We booked this hotel as a last resort because our accommodations fell through. Staff were friendly and helpful overall, and the hotel did its purpose of housing us for one night. Now while it did itโ€™s purpose, we were not expecting the cold and frankly depressing vibe of the hotel. We were assigned the back building close to the train tracks. As soon as you walk into the building you see concrete walls leading down a dimly lit hallway. Our room was at the very back of the building. As we walked into the room, we automatically felt like we were staying in a prison cell: one window, a dimly lit room, nasty carpets, and more concrete walls. The bathroom was nice, and probably the only homey part of the room. Needless to say, we did sleep well in the dark room at night, but would not plan to stay at this hotel again.

Made it to our hotel and quickly decided there was no way we would stay. It did not feel safe at all. We arrived and it was total sketch-ville. Thankful we arrived during daylight hours. I knew we had to find a new hotel and get out before dark. I didn't even ask if my money would be refunded...just wanted out of there. If we could give zero stars, we would. I didn't even want to touch the bed. The room felt so dirty. The tub was cracked and discolored. Toilet seat falling off. It didn't even have towels in the room! I should have taken pictures but truly couldn't get out fast enough. Even forgot some of my stuff but luckily realized it before leaving so I just told them I accidentally locked myself out. I am not sure how this hotel has 3.5 stars. There is no way the other rooms in this hotel could be that wonderful when this one was filthy and falling apart. It is very hard to believe. Don't be fooled by the reviews. This is not worth any price.

I suppose this could be entitled, you get what you paid for, but maybe a little less worth it than that? First, it feels like you're staying a jail. I suppose that's more architectural than the hotel's fault, but it still is relevant to your experience. You're in a concrete dungeon. The carpets are stained and smelly. Cheap bedding and gross bathrooms. When I was there, all elevators in the entire place were broken. I am a person who can carry her bags up 3 flights, but I had to help a fellow guest with hers who could not do the same. She had asked an employee to help her and they reportedly declined. The staff I interacted with were adequate, no complaints, but it's pretty awful to hear they wouldn't help someone with bags. Would I stay here again? Absolutely not. Would I come to Irvine again? Also no. So you decide. Is this hotel bad? Or is it the hotel Irvine deserves?

Wow, has this place gone down hill. We stayed here a few years ago and figured it would be a safe bet. We should have looked at the reviews. The more recent ones complain about the same things we found. Our room had a dank smell. The toilet constantly leaked. There is also a train that comes right by about 4 or 5 times during the night. It actually shakes the room. If the room had been $100 a night instead of $150 a, I might have given the place 3 stars.

We stayed in the same brand hotel in Vegas and loved our stay. The hotel in Irvine was definitely not the same quality. It was the worst stay I have ever had in a hotel. Every customer ahead of me checking in had a complaint. The elevators were not working. The building we stayed in literally looks like a prison. It had a concrete exterior with rusted over air vents. Our door did not lock. The air conditioning blew hot air all night. It was cooler in the hallway than our room. There was a train that ran behind the property that ran all night.

Musty, poor smelling room. AC was not great at keeping room cool. Elevator is slow. Toilet water pressure is extremely weak. Bathtub non slip cover was bubbling up and it feels like you are standing on a plank on the ocean as you bob and weave trying to get your balance. The whole hotel was once a warehouse back in the olden days, and you can definitely tell it is old. The hotel staff, specifically the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. So there's one saving grace. Not recommended for anyone to stay here unless you are just desperately needing a place to crash and nothing else is available.

The place feels more like a prison than a nice place to rest and recharge. There were exposed wires, the bathroom door was falling apart, hair left in the shower, broken TV, trash littering the hallways, tape holding curtains closed, the list could go on. The location is convenient as it's right off the freeway but honestly - just pick another hotel.

This is a unique hotel, especially for a La Quinta. The rooms in the "silo" building are cement. It's very industrial feeling. The rooms are all hexagon shaped. Super interesting. The temperature in the room was actually easy to maintain, despite the cement. The beds were comfy and the kids had no issue with the pullout couch. The couch was a bit worn and the underside of the couch mattress was in rough shape. The room had a charging station which was a nice convenience. There was breakfast, but we missed it because it was only until 9 am on Friday.

I stayed here for about 4 days and it was pretty good. I stayed at their second building that looked like a warehouse but it was actually pretty nice. I felt safe in the location , the room was average but certainly better than any other lower priced hotels I've been to! I didn't have any problems with my room or bathroom or any sort of thing like that. A Denny's is just a walk away from the hotel and another restaurant as well! What more can I say but it was a great/average hotel. I definitely recommend checking it out! I was here when they had the pool closed and shut down free breakfast because of COVID but it didn't bother me. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the vending machines. It ate my money and I got nothing!

I guess people are used to thin dry wall structures, so the cement thick walls might looks like a prison to them. I really like it, not just how is looks but the privacy. Very clean, nice free breakfast and staff was super efficient. No complaints.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. The staff was extremely friendly but the rooms are just not up to par. Even my 3 year old son was hesitant to use the bathroom before sanitizing it with his Clorox wipes.

The team member at check in was friendly , upbeat and informative. We stayed in the old silo building which was awesome . So many things were kept from the original and the lobby with all the old photos and information was awesome. Totally unexpected. The room and bathroom was clean and a good size with good amenities. It is a plus to have a Dennies right there when you arrive late. The breakfast offering was good and plenty . A team member kept everything neat and clean , even the waffle station which normally a mess everywhere was spotless. A very good stay , will stay there again!

Do not stay here. There are safer and more comfortable looking options for comparable prices. Checked in and the first room I was given, both locks were busted so there was no way to unlock the door. Had to haul my luggage around their property multiple times to the next room where the door was ALSO broken. Really run down property, desk girl could not even take the time to show me where my room is, just told me the number and sent me on my way. Besides the fact that they also double charged me and were frustrated when I tried to get my money back. Spent more than half my vacation on the phone with these people trying to figure out a resolution and they are just not attentive!

If you're looking for comfort, cleanliness and quality then look no further. La Quinta inn at Irvine spectrum is by far one of my favorite places to stay. The service is excellent. Franklin at the front desk is always helpful and pleasant to speak to. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a room in the orange county (California) area. Trust me... you won't be disappointed.

Staff was friendly. We had a late check in and they were accommodating. Our room was clean and quiet. Hotel is in a convenient location. The room had a microwave & mini-fridge & a decent complimentary breakfast, nothing too fancy but just what we needed for our stay & was nearby lots of restaurant options

I got stuck in a prison cell they call The Silo, the walls were discolored concrete and the toilet didn't flush properly. I met the kindest maid who opened the door and even called the elevator when she saw my arms doing a breakfast balancing act. They now charge $25/night/dog but eventually they reversed the charge for my dog who didn't stay over with me. They have also started charging a $75 damage deposit, fortunately that is refundable. Breakfast options were "meh" for diabetics, cold hard boiled eggs being the only safe option.

I stayed one night with my family. Beds were clean and comfy. Walking distance to a burger spot and a Dennys for when you get hungry. The staff was friendly and helpful. I called to ask when breakfast service was, they informed me it was from 7-10 am. Breakfast had a good selection and adequate seating. I would definitely come back in the future.

Lupita and Elisabeth were absolutely amazing. My kid got lost in the hotel for 2 minutes. They found him and brought him to us right away. The rooms are clean. The service is amazing. Please be kind to these people, they work hard and have really good heart. The waffles are amazing, good breakfast service. They are also mitary friendly. Good gym, nice pool and hot tub. Very affordable and a great place to relax.

The family and I wanted to spend some time in Irvine and be close to the Spectrum. Great location! Near the freeway, only a few minutes away from the Spectrum, and next to a family owned hamburger restaurant that we enjoyed. We didnโ€™t expect to see the historical farmhouse in the back so that was a pleasant surprise to have an educational experience as well! I saw some reviews complaining about the noise from the trains but we could hardly notice the noise. In fact, the kids actually thought the train was cool. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Overall, pleasant stay, friendly staff, great location. Would stay again!

I always stay here never a problem. Always hospitable and comfortable. Clean and not bothered much sometimes a little loud with carts and roller carts going by the room but understandable..

only stayed for one night while at a sports tournament. the room had a weird smell, like soap and dirt. the elevator was very sketchy and it always felt like it was gonna drop. bathroom was dirty and tv was very small and worked just ok. the staff were nice, didnโ€™t talk to them much. overall the room just felt dirty and gross

  • 5/5 Jeannette C. 6 months ago on Google
My son had a tournament near by and we needed a place to stay overnight that didnโ€™t cost an arm and a leg. This place was perfect since it was about 10 mins from the tournament and less than 2 miles to the Irvine spectrum where we were able to enjoy our night with family and friends. Very easy to check in, rooms were comfortable and clean, breakfast was perfect for a quick meal, and easy access to the freeway. Will definitely stay here again!

45min to check in as they were doing a refund that took a long time. 1st room reeked of urine, so I had to get a different one. Right off the freeway, but I would not stay here again.

They turned an historic grain processing place into a hotel and failed. Plus commuter rail runs right next to it and rattles the rooms every hour. Walls are unfinished concrete with pictures on it. I kid you not. Unbelievable.

It's a quiet hotel. Close to the freeway, it is easy to get to other cities. It's a historic building that is interesting. Do not leave anything behind, I left 2 pillows, and when I called to ask about them, I was told that they were not there. They threw them in the trash. I have stayed there multiple times, and for some reason they felt it was appropriate to throw out my personal items. There is a lot of cannabis smoking in the hallways, cat urine smell from a cat that is on premises, they toss the extremely stinky cat litter inside in the trash cans. It makes the hallway smell aweful.

Rooms were large. Proximity to our event at the Great Park was awesome. Train and Freeway noises (look at map) where not noticeable unless you were trying to pay attention. Lots of parking. Great restaurants nearby. Staff was extremely responsive and proactively helpful.

If I could give zero stars I would! Recently stayed here for business travel and not like I had a choice in hotel but wow! Pictures were definitely deceptive and rooms do not look like that. The train went by all hours of the night and my room would shake. They shut off the water on our last day there. I found hairs all over my towels and lastly they ended up charging my personal card instead of the business card that was used to reserve the room and I was just told โ€œoh sorry we were never told we needed to charge it sorry your manager didnโ€™t make that clear to youโ€ Definitely letting my company know to cut bookings with this place

The pictures made it look like it was a nice place, it was more of a Motel 6 (outside rooms). The main elevator wasnโ€™t working, the room wasnโ€™t vacuumed correctly upon arriving, the shower leak and I would suggest wearing shower shoes. The pool was dirty, granted it was late when we went down to the pool. We were there for a softball tournament and needed to use the laundry facilities but that was broken also. This is more of a one star facility.

I'm not asking too much for a place to sleep. Spent two nights here in 6/22 to check school for my kid. it was okay then so I booked it here again this time. This time it's impossible to sleep! The trains run next to the room all night! asked to change the room, no can do! Will never book here again. If you consider staying here, don't! Book some where else.

Telephone didnโ€™t work-lights on, no dual tone. Light over the desk did not work-twisting the element/bulb made it flicker, but would not stay on. Nice looking charging station did not work-was plugged into the outlet, but no power from the charging station. The key cards to enter the room did not work all the time-required several efforts. One of the cards worked once in a while when gaining access to the pool. The TV remote was possessed-several attempts to use it produced different results-sometime the scroll button selected a channel, many time not even close to the channel that was highlighted. I know you get what you pay for. Any one of the above problems alone wouldโ€™ve been inconvenient but tolerable. Carpet frayed and exposed carpet tacks that made walking around at night a hazard. However, occurring all together in the same stay, they made this a bad experience and were inexcusable. The pillows were niceโ€ฆ

Idk what happened to my review, so here goes again- Room 335- Nice and big, but the shower nozzle sprayed in multiple directions if pulse was selected. Room 332- A half sized room facing the railroad tracks. Trains whiz by fast, which is a little startling. Oddly enough, the shower nozzle had the same problem as room 335! Someone left the smoke detector covered with plastic, and room service should check for this. Beds were comfy, sheets clean.

Good stuff...enjoy!!

Part of this motel is in an old converted mill which we thought was cool. A guy at the front desk said he felt like he was staying in a prison because of the concrete walls. We didn't feel that way at all. It was just unique and interesting to my hubby and me. The room was clean and comfortable, but the mattress was a little hard and lumpy, but I slept okay. We stayed on the opposite side of the building from the train tracks. The area was a little sketchy with lots of young people hanging out and partying. Overall, we'd stay again.
