There
are
many
temples
dedicated
to
(Tin
Hau)
the
Goddess
of
the
Sea
scattered
throughout
Hong
Kong
including
the
small
temple
sandwiched
between
two
other
modern
buildings
on
Wing
On
Street
in
the
middle
of
Peng
Chau
Island.
This
temple
is
believed
to
have
been
originally
constructed
around
400
years
ago
but
what
you
see
today
was
a
rebuild
that
took
place
in
1792,
according
to
information
provided
at
the
temple.
What
you
find
is
a
small
single
chamber
temple
built
in
Qing
Dynasty
architectural
form.
It
includes
grey
brick
exterior
and
attractive
murals
and
roof
decorations
above
the
temple
entrance.
Within
you
will
quickly
find
an
ancient
bell,
nice
wood
carvings
in
front
of
the
entrance
as
well
as
shrine
with
deity
figures
of
Tin
Hau.
There
is
also
a
neat
wooden
junk
boat
on
display
that
is
perhaps
the
most
interesting
thing
to
see
inside
this
Tin
Hau
Temple.
Give
the
Tin
Hau
Temple
a
quick
look-see
while
exploring
Peng
Chau.
Other
nearby
temples
that
are
also
worth
a
brief
look
around
include
the
small
Kam
Fa
Temple
just
1
minute
walk
away,
The
Lung
Mo
Temple
on
the
beach
on
the
eastern
side
of
the
Island
and
the
colourful
Seven
Sisters
Temple
which
is
a
5
minute
walk
north
of
this
location.
