How can you review an airport that functions as a quarantine barrier? The staff were all good and all credit to them under such trying circumstances. However all the shops, bars and restaurants are closed. I used to go through this airport almost every month and it’s terribly sad to see the beating heart of the city destroyed in this way. Making the extra terminal and runway look a little surplus to requirements. Pictures were taken on a Sunday, March 2022. Many of the ads on the trolleys advertised an event in March 2020. Hope it can bounce back soon.

Once you get off the flight, there will be staff along all the way to guide you through the immigration and testing areas. Everyone arriving to HK has to go to government’s website to fill out the health form and download the QR code. Staff will check and scan your QR code. Then you will take the connecting train to the testing areas. Everyone is given a bag of testing kit and a name badge with barcode. Testing procedure just take a few minutes and then follow the sign to the another counter. Staff will give you the mandatory quarantine order and check your passport or HKID. Everyone is given a quarantine booklet and an electric thermometer. After collect your quarantine order, you will proceed to the waiting zone for your test result. There is a kiosk provide free biscuits, sandwiches and water. Grab your stuff and be patience to wait for 3-4 hours until your result is negative.Everyone is sitting alone like sitting in the examination centre. Airport team will come over and give you the quarantine order with a stamp of ‘checked’ and ‘tick’. Then you are release to the pick up your luggage. Keep following the signs to exit. Then you will be pointed to the bus arrangement counter for your hotel. There are 9 queues, they will give you a tag put on your luggage with the name of your hotel. Wait for other passengers who will be in the same area of hotels, then they will guide you to take the bus. Airport is modern, clean and well maintained. Before the pandemic, the airport is packed with people going in and out everyday. There are different shops and restaurants.Terminal 1 has more varieties of shops while Terminal 2 has less. But you will get everything you need for travel or souvenirs before you head back to home.

Had a layover at Hong Kong Int Airport of about 20hrs would like to share some essential information for students and others. Travel Date : 05 Aug 2022 1. Guys there is no currency exchange services available at the airport so make sure you carry USD or HKD to purchase any item at the airport or u can also use Apple Pay or Credit card. 2. There are hardly any restaurants open at the airport. Probably due to covid restrictions so people have really very less options I would suggest you to carry any snacks or quick foods (breads, cakes, croissants, Packed Juices etc.). There are hardly any halal options available but there is a restaurant which serves halal food but is also closed. Getting chilled water is difficult you’ll find room temperature water and hot water at some water fountain stations. Seating options are pretty bad there are hardly any reclined chairs you can find some near gate 67-68 close to the glass window. I would suggest you to carry a blanket if you can to sleep or relax comfortably. There is nothing much to do at the airport as most of the shopping stores are closed.

The airport is spread on island & far away form the mainland, well connected by road bridge & subway, the airport comprises of arrival & departure terminals. Underground subway tunnel is very convenient for travellers. At the subway stations all the airlines have check in desk where the passengers can collect their boarding passes & drop their luggage for hassle free movement at the airport. There are lot of food counters, shopping stores, world class lounge, duty free shops where travellers can spend their waiting time.

Hong Kong Airport is one of my favourite airports as it has extremely good wifi speeds using which you can download Netflix & Amazon prime episodes before you enter mainland China. It also has multiple scenes where you can click awesome pictures of your trip. The best thing about the airport is its underground metro 🚇 which helps you reach your destination. Food is also good & options such as McDonald's, KFC etc. are easily available but the queue is long generally during the day time.

One of the busiest Airport in the world, located in the strategic place where surrounded by sea and hills. having been there just for a transit, even though i have long transit, but it doesn't feel to boring cause the airport it self it's so huge, many places to discover. Overall i would love to visit this country, but not as a transit person in the future, and I'm looking forward to that.

I was flying with Cathay Pacific, just transit in HK on early 2020. Very big airport, too bad was arriving there in early morning, didn't get any chance to window shopping, and also due to covid-19 before lockdown everywhere... most of the shops were also close.

I've been there since 2019, and I must admit that the airport is enormous and clean, thanks to the janitors. There were several businesses selling a wide variety of products such as cosmetics, souvenirs, and so on. However, I assume that because to the COVID epidemic, many of them have closed.

Possibly my personal favourite airport in the world, Chek Lap Kok is just magnificent. You can chill before your flight or if you choose you can shop or grade something to eat and drink. It's a very large airport so I recommend knowing exactly where you departure gate is and keep your eye on the time as you don't want to be running for your plane. I hope to be flying into here again once international travel is allowed again. Hong Kong International Airport is Certified with the 5-Star Airport Rating for facilities, comfort and cleanliness, shopping, food & beverages and staff service. “Hong Kong Airport is an excellent hub in the region which delivers a high standard for customers in many product and service areas. While some areas have not kept pace with passenger expansion, the airport is now beginning to improve facilities, add new seating and enhance comfort items. Food and beverage choices have also been improved and are amongst the best one will find at a large hub airport.”

Very nice international airport. Clean, well organised, plenty of things to do and places to shop. Highly recommended. The public transport to Kowloon or Hong Kong island is well organized, fast and smooth. A good place to start a trip!

Very big airport but due to covid 19 most of the shops are closed. The place is clean and you can avail unlimited free wifi connection anywhere inside the airport

Very nice airport, easy to make connections. We had a long layover, there was an area for children to play. Many restaurants to choose from, offering halal on the menu.

Very clean and well maintained airport. The hub of cathy pacific airline. Intact security system! Eateries and coffee shops are available but not functional during early hours of morning.

Is a nice airport but no facility for passengers having more than 10 hours connection to sleep as there is covid restrictions if you go out you need to quarantine for 3 days so they should have alternative arrangements at some hotel. It's very tough to sleep on a couch all night in premium lounge they are charging 245 canadian dollars for 6 hours and still so uncomfortable bed one can not even turn a side. One can get a hotel bed in that amount for one day. The staff is really very good at the airport and very helpful at both the lounges but system here is not good. Most of the shops were closed. No money exchange facility. They should provide some comfortable electric recliners in the business lounge at least four the handicapped people.

It was very clean but due to Carona viruses they only have 3 places to get food that was not very good. We arrived at 5 in the morning and didn't leave until 4pm. They sell cup noodles there but nowhere to get hot water even water to drink was hard to find. If you are going there and have a long layover I would definitely pack some food to eat especially if you have kids. It's sad to see this airport has 530 gates with almost all the planes docked and not operating.

For an airport it's pretty good, what with the views across to Hong-Kong itself, with the mountains surrounding it. But airports are about the people & I have to say, the people I encountered were so helpful, with lots of patience (they needed it with me) and good humour. And I'm not just talking about particular customer service suppliers, I'm including people working in and for the actual airport. Interested and interesting, the kind of behavior all too often missing, certainly in too many places in Europe. Maybe they were just being nice to get rid of me quicker, but even then, it beats the usual 'not my job mate', that seems so prevalent these days, by a country mile...

Awesome place. Although it's mostly closed, I really liked how the space is organised. Even better than in Singapore, because you have freedom to walk around the transit zone. Really liked the way the food ordering is set up.
