when i first started this gym, i has the three day free pass with my best friend. we really liked the gym & the aura it had. but everything soon revealed itself. i have experienced multiple racial encounters by the people there & the staff members there. some of the machines were broken & there were no signs on it. the locker room bathrooms are disgusting (especially the females), creepy guys everywhere. i honestly felt racially judged there by some staff member when i interacted with some of them for the first time ever. for the price it was, i thought it was a really good, worth it gym. i also was frustrated how, i had no choice but to freeze my account, because cancelling my account would be 300 dollars. after all of that, i had to pay $140 to freeze my account until the 12 month contract is up. after reading some of the reviews with their accounts being frozen & still getting charged, if that happens to me i will be reporting unique to the BBB. i really hoped i could've stood here until the contract was done. but, i rather feel safe than uncomfortable in a gym.

Had a small running event a while ago, walked into the bathrooms and it looks like no one either knows how to use a bathroom, or nobody ever bothers to clean it. On top of that getting ahold of a manager is harder than finding gold and the crowd that goes here is on par with a middle school playground. Would not recommend this gym to anyone serious about working out.

The place is fairly massive. Haven’t had an issue finding a piece of equipment or machine I wanted to use yet. Staff are friendly, and employees are around cleaning up all the time, so it stays pretty clean. Some of the weights are in disarray sometimes, but that’s because some people at the gym, lifting weights, apparently can’t be bothered to lift the ones they use and put them back where they got them. Maybe there was a flunk-out period for kindergarten that I’ve never been notified of- who knows. Beyond that, great place. Showers and locker rooms are nice. I can only speak for the men’s, they frown upon visiting the other one (I’m assuming, I haven’t tried). Would be nice if they would upgrade the water fountain to something that worked, say, to get water into a bottle and not just all over the floor, but that may be a marketing ploy to sell more bottled water. Just an observation, not saying it is. Also, would be a good idea to sell towels. You could make up for the money you’d lose in bottled water if you did, and then spring for that functional water fountain (see above). Also, added bonus, I wouldn’t have to use my dirty sock to dry off with at least twice a week, when I’m too tired to remember to pack my gym bag the night before, and show up with no towel/clean socks/underwear. Again, just some ideas to make some extra money to, ya know, go ahead and spring for that fully-functional, non-leaking water filling station…….. great place though, headed there now to get started filling up my water bottle, so I still have time to train too. 😎

Awesome facility. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great gym but doesn't mind paying a little more. For the value of what you receive, you really do get such a wonderful experience when you are working out. There is a plethora of workout equipment and an abundance of workout machines for everyone. They even have a field!

Been a member for over 2 years. Great atmosphere here at Unique. Super hygienic gym and awesome sauna. Would highly recommend to family and friends.

I have been attending Unique in Holbrook from the opening week and still love it like it was day one. The gym is always clean, the staff is always friendly, willing to talk to you about any of your questions or concerns, and quickly address anything you bring up to them. Machines are always up and running and they do a great job keeping them serviced. Shelby the manager has been there from the beginning and is always there to greet you with a smile which rubs off on the rest of the friendly staff. Haven’t seen a cleaner or nicer gym on Long Island.

Gym is very big, pretty much everything you can need is there, clean amazing staff John and I believe Alexa from the front are always super nice and friendly to me and my family, and the one girl Giszel instead of charging my son and his friends for the guest passes when they go she always lets them in for giving her a few dollars instead of having to pay the gym itself the $10 or $15 they ask. happy to be paying her instead of the gym especially since she’s told us and even our friends how they don’t pay her enough. 😡

This place is like no other gym. The 4am to 6:30 am staff is nothing short of outstanding. Billy, Gisselle, Courtney and when Dom and Tara are there are friendly, kind, helpful, and always have a smile on their face. The gym is always clean and no machine is down for maintenance for long. Highly recommend for all the above.

Been going here for a long time. Great energy and vibe in the gym. They’ve changed employees throughout the years but they are always chill, younger people like me who are into fitness. They have a wide ranger of services, smoothie bar, fresh meals to by, and much more. Very expensive so definitely only join if it’s a long term thing which it is for me. But love every workout I have here.

Uncensored rap music with the N-word periodically blasts over the loudspeakers. It jars me when staff, especially the Black ones, will not change the music despite my objections. Occasionally, they do. Freedom fighters flock here. They drive into the parking lot in their lifted pickup trucks, with American flags flying in the cargo bed and with oversized tires sporting elaborately decorated wheels. BEWARE OF THE HATE TATTOOS AND EXTREMIST CLOTHING. Vote Red! Proud to be an American! Back the Blue! This is a Patriot hangout. It is apparent that the owners and staff are playing uncensored rap music as an excuse to hear the N-word. They seem to enjoy the minstrel show that rap music is, and they would likely never play music with anti-Semitic words if they wanted to stay in business. . Unique Fitness, you must engage in better business practices. Shame on your microaggressiveness! Nevertheless, I am giving this business four stars because it opens at 4 am weekdays and at 6 am on weekends, and it participates in a fitness club network, for which members pay low monthly fees.

Great gym! big sauna, awesome treadmill (never thought I would enjoy running on a treadmill VS outside) Ton of equipment. Puts LA fit to shame. They copied unique with a small turf. Hope to see more uniques pop up and a 24hr one. 👍

I’m a member for over 2 years, I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. I like how the staff is cleaning regularly. It is a large facility so even when it’s busy there is enough equipment for everyone.

I am so happy to have Nicole B. back at spin in Holbrook! She is a fantastic instructor and meets the needs of everyone. She allows people to go at a comfortable pace or to challenge themselves if they chose. She has been my instructor for about 10 years and almost our entire class has followed her to Unique!!!

Unique in Holbrook is truly a special place. It's always incredibly clean, got fun music playing, and offers DELICIOUS shakes. But I have to say that the greatest part of Unique is the staff at the front desk - they are so kind and warm any time I enter or leave the gym. Shelby in particular is a true superstar! Always running around ensuring each and every member is taken care of and enjoying their time at Unique. Couldn't ask for a better gym!!

Great atmosphere with the amount people that go here I feel like they do such great job keeping it clean and organized. The whole maintenance crew are amazing was able to take picture with 2 of them they are great and are such hard workers always making sure guess are happy and offering help with anything and everything. I appreciate all their hard work and if wasn’t for their work ethics and positiveness this gym wouldn’t be the same for me. Having good workers for your business is such a blessing and those are the ones that deserve the most. A smile and a thank you goes long way. Always remember take care of your people and they will show up 10X more for you and the business. You guys are doing great!!!

Great gym, clean machines, friendly workers. Sometimes their music can be a bit odd, such as playing a hyper remix version of cotton eye joe. The only downside is that this gym can get so busy during peak hours, that I would need to wait for a machine for around 30 minutes. I would suggest going during the day and avoiding the night to have shorter wait times for the machines.

I have unlimited good things to say about the gym but wanted to express my gratitude towards the girls who work in the daycare! Always a pleasure and on top of each child no matter the ratio. Want to specifically shout out Sam who works there. My son who is on the spectrum sometimes gets overwhelmed with the amount of kids and the noise level. I went to get my boy and Sam went above and beyond to ensure my boy was felt safe. I actually never seen my boy gravitate towards a stranger the way he did towards Sam. World needs more people like Sam.

John and Matt made me feel so welcome here, that before my 3 day pass even expired, I signed up for a membership. They are great people and I really appreciate how clean the gym always is!

This business is awful with their covid policies. They allow unmasked children who are clearly under 12 years of age run around the facility. I’ve been going since may 2021 and they just put up covid policy signs and they don’t even follow them. I don’t not feel safe in the business and will be canceling my membership with them. (Which is far too expensive)

Finally everything you need in one place right off vets! The new unique on Vets has all of the proper equipment for you to incorporate into any routine and tackle your goals. I know myself I drive to Deer Park for my personal trainer , but we have days that we can’t link up so having a gym with the proper equipment to still work towards my goals is a great relief! And they have a huge sauna, super clean facility. Huge Shout out to the GM , Shelby, who was extremely helpful in making changes to my account and discussing the best options for me to get started right away. Also Erica at the front desk was super pleasant. Don’t forget to checkout the awesome meal prep, supplement walk and merchandise for Unique!

Love the gym but had to cancel because the music is way too loud I couldn’t even hear my own with my headphones blasting. I’ve asked them multiple times to lower it and the next day it’s just as loud or louder.

Let’s take a quick step back, when my gym for almost two decades became a Unique Express on Sunrise Highway in Holbrook. As the transition was set in motion from Sunrise Fitness to Unique, I knew this team for Unique were the real deal. Watching the contractors they assembled tackle a new facility with such detail and mastery was inspiring. Shortly after this we heard they would soon be opening a mega facility just a few minutes away on Veterans Highway. Needless to say, in March of 2019 on opening day, I walked in and ever since that day have not stepped foot in any gym on the Island and never will!! They have all the tools (top notch equipment, classes, resources, trainers, juice bar, saunas, wearable gear and on and on) to help you achieve your fitness/health goals. I have taken my wife and I even use the kiddie room for my son and daughter. It’s clean, has so much to offer for the young ones and helps me stay focused on my workout by trusting their amazing staff. Speaking of the staff, I have never met one who made me feel uncomfortable or unapproachable. You can walk in this gym every day for a year and get a different workout, which says a lot about what it has to offer. Monkey bars…love em. Turf field for a variety of exercises…love it. Free loaded machines or adjustable…yup. Ropes…check. Check check check. If the gyms in the Northeast were to get in the ring for supremacy, Unique Holbrook would be Mike Tyson in his prime. This facility is a knockout and one that will never disappoint.

The Holbrook gym is always very friendly and clean. The classes on the turf are outstanding, and I love their protein shakes. The one manager Shelby is so personable and always goes out of her way to attend to all the members. She is exceptional! The atmosphere is wonderful; people just do their own thing and no one bothers you.

Unique is an amazing gym! Dozens and dozens of cardio machines (EIGHT, yes 8, stair masters!), multiple free weight areas, and with the amount of equipment they have, I hardly ever have to wait for a machine. I don’t take classes much, but when I do it’s Saturday 9AM spin with Jen. The music, energy and enthusiasm is spot on. Every staff member I’ve come in contact with is always smiling and friendly. Last, but not least, is the management. Ryan has been a huge help with anything I need; he’s responsive, pleasant, and very accommodating. Great gym!

Unique is great! The Holbrook location is huge. You’re never sitting around waiting for weights or machines. Always extremely clean! Front desk staff are always very nice and welcoming. Sales rep, John Mcauliff helped me book my membership. He was very helpful, gave me a full tour, and answered all my questions. Gave me a good deal, he was awesome! Another sales rep, Alex was also very friendly and helpful. This gym is great, definitely recommend!

I’d say this is the best gym on Long Island. Huge facility with everything you could ask for in a gym. The atmosphere pumps you up, brand new machines, and friendly staff. Love it!

Absolutely the best gym hands down from Shelby, Dominick, Lily and Alex at the front desk. To the trainers as well. I commute here 5 days a week from further out east but it’s definitely worth it. I needed a new hoody and the owners son actually went to another location to retrieve my size. Not many gyms around these days that can even come close.

Amazing gym. Clean, the best equipment and attentive staff. 4-stars because the music makes me feel like I’m at a high school dance (2006-2010). PLEASE change your playlist.

Great staff and very large fitness center with everything you need to reach your goals with many of the same products to avoid wait time. Parking can be difficult but the environment inside is worth it. The free 3 day pass was worth it. I will be signing up for my membership next month.

I have been at this facility for about three months . I used to work out at multiple gyms . Now this is all that I want and has more than what I need. I come from bayshore which is a little bit of a commute but it’s well worth it! I canceled my memberships from other places because the staff especially John and Brianna have both gone above and beyond to make me feel at home here and motivate me coming back to the gym from being in the hospital for a few months. They genuinely care here and I couldn’t say that this is just a place for me to come and get in shape . I can really feel like part of a genuine honest and caring facility . Thanks so much for all that you do Unique Fitness Holbrook!

People behind the desk are awesome. They listen intently and help you with any situation that they can or they will get somebody who can help. I’ve never had a issue with the shakes they always get it right which is hard to do these days. Highly recommend stopping in and just checking everything out, won’t be disappointed.

I have dealt with alot of gyms and it was not a pleasant experience. I would totally recommend unique fitness if your thinking of joining a gym. I have memberships both here and LA. Comparatively, This is the cleanest most professional gym on Long Island. The machines and sauna are always spotless and fresh, LA saunas are disgusting and smell sour. Big shoutout to the cleaning crew they’re out here saving lives and peoples days! once you come here Any other gym seems gross and disappointing

Overall, the gym itself is nice and spacious. The equipment is updated and there is a fair amount of weight machines to go around. My only real complaint is about the music that is played in the entire gym area. I generally go to gym late at night… around 10, but have been there during the day also. It seems like they play more than their share of hip hop/rap music, and play it very loudly. I can easily hear it through my headphones and that is kinda annoying. I brought it to the attention of an employee there but he said they have no control over it. That being said, I understand why most people wear headphones… to listen to their own music and not the music being played in the gym. Conclusion: headphones a must… music genre needs to be more diverse
