Fast service and great food, everything was served fresh and hot, highly recommend! I was with a group of 7 and it was about 930 on a Saturday night, the original place we went to had just closed the kitchen so we were scrambling for where to get some decent food (that wasn't fast food). I Googled the nearest diner and found Oconee. They were warm and welcoming and had us seated immediately. Within the first 2 minutes we all had glasses of iced water and warm baskets with bread and butter served. Despite all of our orders being different breakfast and dinner items, they all came out at the same time and perfect temperatures. The Greek salad dressing was amazing, the pancakes were fluffy and everyone said their food was delicious. We are definitely coming back to try the rest of their menu and their desserts looked amazing as well!

What a wonderful feeling of "Celebrating Life" decorations w/n this restaurant! I went for the 1st time to have breakfast with my sister & it was awesome. From Customer service, to ordering my food & receiving exactly what I wanted. Good a/c - cool! Delicious food & served quickly! Decor of 4th of July with pictures & streamers. How wonderful! All decked out for the holidays!!! ….was taken here by family on Long Island during my holidays last week and I was delighted with the place. We arrived early on a Sunday morning and the car park was nearly completely packed! We were seated immediately and the turnaround was fast. Got a lovely traditional American breakfast (so I was told! I was a European on holidays!) and I just loved the decorations they had up! They very kindly let me go around and take a few snaps (attached here are a few!) The waitress was super friendly. I highly recommend this place for everyone! I’ll be back on my next holiday!

The Oconee diner experience has been a tradition in Islip for many years. This afternoon I stopped in to peruse its patriotic decor and sample its food offerings. The place was filled to the brim with hungry patrons but the large staff remained friendly and accommodating. I was feeling like something different so I had a “Bloody Mary” and a “Chicken Caeser” wrap with French fries. A very nice place to dine on a hot summery afternoon or anytime.

My fist experience of an American Diner and we loved the decor. Staff were Brilliant, very attentive and efficient. I had a Spanish Omelette, my wife had Strawberry Pancakes.... OMG... Yep.... Welcome to America... There's no holding back on the portions... I only hope we can return.... If'n you are in the area.... Do yourself a favour.... Visit and remember to say "Cheers" when they bring out the food 😁

Since we were in town, we decided to check out this local diner due to some recommendations. By the time we got there, 11 am, 90% of the parking lot was filled and the restaurant was packed! It was a 20 minute wait despite this, and they turned over tables super fast. Once we got seated, the waiter attended to us immediately and we got our food within the first 10 minutes, which was surprisingly fast. Everything we ordered was great, and I highly recommend the chicken parm sandwich. If we ever go back to this area, I'm going to lunch here first!

Great diner, great service, just a lil bit more pricey than your average diner (which for what you get is okay). Portions are generous, the waiters are very attentive and the food always tastes good. We didn't wait long for the food to be prepared and despite it being late, the place wasn't slowing down. Looking forward to coming back soon. (Very good brisket for a state that usually doesn't do brisket well)

2 Drinks Whiskey & Coke Tea 2 Salads Penne Ala Vodka Hawaiian Salmon. Pineapple topping 50/50 of opinion here Salmon was not the best. Had a fishy taste. Pasta was good. Tasted better the day after Big portion

The food is delicious and the portions are huge so come hungry. This place also decorates for every holiday so the ambiance fits the season, and there are pictures of local people, especially police officers, firefighters, and military personnel in the lobby. Despite a couple of mistakes with my order, my server Emily, was outstanding. I would highly recommended this place, and I look forward to going back.

just about all of the staff are friendly and make sure you have everything that you need. The music is wonderful, and the decorations are always appropriate to the holiday or season! It's fun to go in just to see what new decorations have been put up. Great food although it's getting expensive. To me going to a diner should be something you can do with your whole family without breaking the bank.

The most awesome diner! Service is unbeatable. Staff is warm and inviting from running to get the door if you need a hand entering to the moment you leave. The food, from breakfast to dinner, is terrific. The cheesesteak sandwich is awesome. Any time of year, this diner is decked out from floor to ceiling (and outdoors), with decor of the season. At this time of year, the Halloweem theme is in full swing. Great place for families (free cookies for kids), couples and groups of friends.

This diner is a true gem. You need to add this to your list of favorite dining locations. They offer great food at reasonable prices. Their service is professional and friendly. The seasonal decorations are amazingly detailed and unique. In summary, The Oconne Diner offers really good food and served with a fun atmosphere.

Definitely my favorite diner. Haven't been here in years, but it has always been good in the past. The holiday decorations are always over the top, and it's another reason to go.

We had breakfast there today, our waiter Kevin was outstanding and very friendly! I had a request that was not on the menu and he helped Create what I was looking for, which was delicious. Waiters and waitresses have a demanding job of making guests feel comfortable and he went above and beyond. Lucky to have such great workers there

You can't help but catch the atmosphere of good service, good food, and, depending on the holiday or occasion, the absolutely over the top decorations they do. The music played is subtle background but listen worthy. The food is good too. You owe it to yourself to stop there during any holiday. ENJOY

No matter what holiday it is, or in between them, this is an excellent diner on Long Island! They are always decked out in decorations (roof to lawn...ceiling to tables) that will put you in the holiday spirit. Service is always great...fast, friendly, efficient servers, chefs that know how to cook, etc. The food is large portions, so expect to bring home leftovers. We have tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner...all are great, never a disappointment. Btw, they know how to cook eggs, I know that can be a deal breaker.

If you want to start your day full of joy & happiness, go to the Oconee Diner. The staff is awesome, it's immaculate, the food was great, the decorations are over the top, just beautiful. I actually met the owners son today what a pleasure, I had to tell him about our experience there today, he reached around and gave me chocolate chip cookies, I didn't expect that- but it was such a kind gesture. Go there you won't be disappointed

We went in tonight as we heard they did a nice holiday meal and I must say that everything was perfect. The decorations, the service, and the food were all perfect. Our waitress took great care of of us and there was minimal delay on anything which was surprising considering the place was PACKED. We will definitely go here for another holiday dinner in the future.

Have been here a few times especially on Mother’s Day now for the past 2 years. Very decorative with the theme of the time of year. Owners always come over & greet us like family. Music is traditional in the classic sense. Service is always excellent! Would recommend Oconee diner to anyone.

First time coming here and won’t be the last. This was recommended by a friend and I’m happy it was. The staff was friendly, the service was fast even though it was busy. The omelette was huge and the home fries were perfectly cooked and tasty. Could definitely split one. Highly recommend.

The place was decorated to the tee for the season. Made me happy even before I sat down. The waitress was prompt and professional. Our orders were beyond expectation. The plate was like stepping back in time. Such a large portion it fed me for days. I had never been here and regret that I hadn't after my plate arrived. Order Greek food in a Greek diner I guess. Vibrant staff, good food, reasonable prices and always entertaining. I would travel a little out of the way to go to this diner rather then the one down the road. Every holiday it is decked out and it's an amazing site.very entertaining.

Place is decorated very nice, a very fun place to bring kids too I bet. The burger I got was so hilariously small, overcooked and completely tasteless though, maybe just a bad day. Fries came out amazing! Really enjoyed the comedy show on the television, never heard of the channel oan before, real funny stuff

We have been going to this diner for years because we live in East Islip, Ever since the COVID situation the food has not only been adequate but the prices have been raised beyond what should be acceptable. The chicken pot pie that my husband loved went up $6.00 and wasn't the same. Very disappointed probably won't go back after all these years.

Great traditional Long Island diner, today it was all dolled up for Halloween and was really fun and spooky at the same time! The food is great especially if you feel like diner food (like I do)!
