Located by the river and was a 3 minute walk from my hotel. Lorimer Kyoto provided a great start to our vacation in Japan. My partner and I wanted our first meal in Japan to be the classic Japanese Breakfast, so we made a reservation with them via Instagram and all was well. We had the entry level Japanese breakfast, which was fish of the day, 3 side dishes, rice and soup. The breakfast was light but also so good, there was this pickled radish dish that was so delicious. The fish was also done quite well. I had the salted version and it had hints of ginger. Definitely a place worth stopping by.

Restaurant open at 8am should be automatic 5 stars in Japan. Went at open, so seated quickly but we didn't see anyone until 30m after so if you're heading back from the temples you have time to get a seat. Very nice waitress, easy menu in English and Japanese to understand. Had Ichiju Sansai and Sansai Gojo which is just additional side dishes. Taste is good, nice presentation, ready to start the day. Coffee is OK, but then again I'm not really a coffee guy.
