So fun so tasty. Anything came from Revolving will be $3!! How that even possible? Order from menu (screen) less than $10!! Pretty good sushi too. Tasty rice and perfectly cooked. Fresh fish but some frozen but no problem for this price. They even serve fresh frozen Wasabi not the cheap powder like most high price sushi place. High quality pickle ginger as well. Huge menu that covers everything from hot to cold and noodle soup. Pretty good too. Excellent services.

What a magical experience this is! Every little plate that comes past your table looks so nice and fun that it makes you want to snatch up every other thing that drifts past you. The quality was surprisingly good even considering we went in with high expectations; it met and exceeded every one of them. The food was great, the staff was lovely, and, if you do a little planning and get on their wait list early, the wait is not bad at all. Considering the location right next to Woodfield mall, going on a mall walk while you wait for your notification seems like the play. 11/10, can't recommend enough!

The food there is spectacular! And the robot that delivers the water is a well programed bot. Also the whole dinner with 4 people was about a little over 60 dollars. They mostly sell sushi 🍣 and they have soup, and dessert there too.

Interesting and fun sushi place. My friend who travels to Japan has sent pictures of this in Japan and I’ve always wanted to try it. Had a really good time eating here. The sushi and other foods are good and the ordering experience definitely unique

The best rotary sushi around. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The server gave us a demo of how to get the sushi from the belt because it was our first time there. This was very helpful. The sushi was so good! All plates on the belt were $3.40 but there is a menu with many more options with varying prices. There’s also a robot that delivers some things to you table. I sat at the bar and there is a plate system where you deposit your sushi plate when done and it adds it your bill. Checkout was easy too and could do it from the display at my seat. Overall we had a fantastic experience and can’t wait to come back again

Fun experience, kids love it. However we keep getting the same "glasses cleaner" for every 15 plates it's really disappointing and seems kind of "cheap" 🙄 the worse thing is they sent our dish to the wrong table and then the same dish got send back to the kitchen and we watch them send the same dish back to us..... We had to tell the server about this because it's really unsanitary 😠

My kids really enjoyed going to Kura. It was a joy to see all the plates of food on the conveyer belt and easily pick up whatever you want to eat. The place is always packed with people waiting to be seated. I would say the sushi prices here are really inexpensive compares to other regular sushi restaurants-- although it is not the best cut, it's still okay if you just want to satisfy your craving for sushi and other Japanese cuisine. Here are some tips to make your experience even more enjoyable and easy when eating here: First: download the app so you can put your party on their waiting list. That way, when you come in, you don’t have to wait too long to be seated. They will let you know when your table is ready and give you 15 minutes to check in. Second: Be prepared to order your drink the second you get seated, because they will ask you right away. Otherwise, I don’t know how long they will get back to you again, as service isn't the speediest. Third: to take the plate from the belt, simply hold down firmly and lift it up slowly, it should open the cover for you. Fourth: For every 15 green plates you get a prize, but don’t force yourself to get another prize. Most of the time its the same prize. In any case, its an enjoyable experience nonetheless. There are 2 conveyer belts, one that carries all the pre-made foods around all the tables and one on top that stops at your table when you order something from the screen. The top conveyer belt is used to order hot foods freshly made, such as udon or dessert. The nice thing is that you once you are seated, you can pretty much order anything through the computer screen. You can also pay online. The bad part is that service is non existence. There is a button to call for servers, but sometimes nobody even comes, and there's nobody going around refilling water or checking on the table. I know with the worker shortage that's been going around, everyone is a bit short on staff. I hope thats the only case with their service. Overall, it is a very fun experience for casual dining.

The fish is fresh and tasty. I can feel they are in the good quality. But they really need to improve the rice base. It is very loose and doesn't taste like good sushi. Don't have the high expectation for this price and I can give a 4 stars.

We loved Kura! It was a very modern, socially distant, unusual restaurant. The sushi was good. The conveyor belt was neat. The udon soup with shrimp tempura was delicious. The restaurant was clean so I don't understand some of the other reviews. We had a great time.

First time here at this place. The concept is ok, however you find more empty plates revolving past you than actual food. Our server never came to the table until we pushed the call button, had to ask for refills on our drinks, never added any ice to the iced tea so the last glass was no ice and fairly warm. What we did manage to grab off the revolving bar was at least fresh...most plates you grab are about 3.75. 2 of us, 15 plates, a few sides and 2 drinks about 75.00. Again, great concept poor execution.

Very delicious and authentic Rotary sushi bar. So the way it works. Is you sit down and place your order on a little computer screen and the belt brings whatever you ordered. Or you can take premade sushi right off of the rotary. Lots of delicious choices to eat. There is also a fun little robot that brings drinks to your table automatically

As soon as we walked in, the place was as busy as it could get. We checked in at a touch-screen and waited ~15-20 minutes to get seated. The place was so packed that they ended up seating us at a handicapped table... All they helped with was taking our drink orders, which the robot brought to us quite promptly. The food was delicious though and definitely worth the wait. It did turn out to be pricier than expected; however, with the demand it's understandable.

Fish is always fresh compared to other sushi spots in the area. Expect to wait during busy times and especially with Covid. It’s very rude to expect service to be 100% everyday during this. You are the ones eating out right? I’ve never had a problem out of the 100s of times I’ve been here.

Really cool first time experience with a revolving sushi bar! The prices we very fair per plate. You were able to try a lot of different dishes as well as order a dish that wasn't available on the trays. Alcohol is avaliable as well. Your drinks will be provided by the robot coming by. I liked having the small plates of food so I could try multiple dishes. Every dish I had was very enjoyable

This was the coolest experience! Self-serve rotating sushi! The robot that brings you your drinks is super fun and the interactive screen. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The sushi was fresh and delicious. You get a prize after 15 plates. Prices have changed from previous photos. It is now 3.30 per plate and 3.70 for soft drinks with refills. All in all, it was a fun experience. We will definitely be back! Thank you for making such a fun and delicious experience. Great place for dates!! I'm pretty sure we tried one of everything lol

Great food at decent prices, about 2.65 per plate of sushi. I had a great time there and I was impressed by their cleaning routine as well as the staffs politeness. Definitely a place to visit if you want to have lunch or sit down for some dinner, and I can recommend the Toro and the Kura roll sushi, as they were both very good.

Good revolving sushi. Loved the builtin game. When you eat enough sushi (15) you get a small gimmick. Ordering extra plates with the touchscreen is also a nice touch. Overall not the best sushi I ever had but also not bad.

Is this place for realz? We ordered and brought it home. No soy sauce, no wasabi, no ginger...this is my first time ever in my life getting pick up sushi and not having these items. Also our eel had fish bones. What the heck is going on Kura?

Our family absolutely loves this place! Very kid friendly and fun. I suggest getting the app and securing your spot in line before heading out to the restaurant. You'll have an estimate of here wait time and they send you a text when your table is ready. Revolving sushi / food is always good and fresh. We really loved ordering from the screen menu. Beef udon is super good here along with garlic fried rice.

This place mimics that of Japanese rotary sushi places. It's very entertaining to eat here. The sushi was delicious with lots of options. There's also ramen on the menu. Interior is clean but a bit confusing for first timers on how the system works. Gave 4 stars because the staff wasn't that friendly.

What a great experience! We tried so many of the sushi available and were always pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat. The pork belly, umami seared beef, and caterpillar rolls were especially excellent. There is ALWAYS something new passing by your table and when you order specific items, they arrive in a flash! We can't wait to come back!

It is a fun place that I feel everyone should try. You are not going to get 100 a plate level sushi here. But it is a ton of the fun. It is confusing when you get there. My advise, download the app and join the wait-list.

I love Kura! Their sushi is always on point. Everything is always bursting with flavor. On my most recent visit I decided to try their eel hand-roll and was fantastic. And of course, being able to get your food off the revolving belt AND from a little robot that delivers to your table is a fun experience for anyone.

  • 5/5 Aaron J. 1 year ago on Google
Very fun experience and great tasting sushi. Don't forget to try other things; that garlic fried rice is amazing. They even have a robot that brings your drinks and a plate counter that gives you a prize if you deposit 15 plates.

I really loved Kura sushi. They even brought over more toys for our teen to enjoy. The only thing I wish was better is the rice wasn't sticky enough so it would fall apart when I tried to pick it up. But certainly a great experience and would do it again.

I’ve been here a few times and my opinion is changing. When I went over a year ago it was VERY GOOD. Quality was amazing but I feel as if quality is going down. As many others have mentioned, the rice FALLS APART. It is not bound by the seasoning very well. The fish is tasty for price point though. I will say their taiyaki is one of the best! Good food but not sure if they care about presentation. This roll was made for my order (ordered via monitor) and it looks slapped together.

The Aburi Eel w/ Miso Cream Cheese is one of the best eel nigiri I've had, and the Green Tea mochi has an incredibly strong green tea flavor which is a great thing.

  • 4/5 B S. 6 months ago on Google
The fish itself is good but it is very hard to keep it together as the rice isn't well packed. Also skip the ramen, there is much better in the area. It's not always clear rhat certain thing are only available on certajn days like sea urchin. Definitely a family friendly environment though and a good place to bring friends who worry about eating raw fish and want other options.

Love the concept and think it's a fun place to go. Food was good except the miso soup. I've had miso soup many times and from different makers of it. I know how it should just but this miso tasted off. I told one of the women with blonde hair when she came to ask that it wasn't good but everything else is. She said it wasn't a problem and removed it. I was in earshot of her telling the crew in the back what I had said and I heard a few of them giggling. This is the reason I gave a low rating. Service was pleasant especially with the young woman with dark brown hair who checked in with us. She was very upbeat and positive. Wished I remembered her name.

Wow! Very very cool! I’ve seen these type of restaurants on YouTube, but never been in one before. I felt like I was in Japan. First I’ll talk about service… James was my server. He was very helpful and friendly. He checked in on us and always smiled. The food… delicious, fresh, and well presented. You clean pick from what is rolling past you and also pick from the screen. A robot brings your drinks. The restaurant is very clean and bright. It feels welcoming and like you’re in Japan. Bathroom was clean. Parking was super easy. Highly recommended

Really enjoy the food here! It's a revolving belt restaurant. Everything is built into the app and the built in tablet at your table so you can order and pay straight through there! Food is fresh and prices are decent. Very great setup for this Covid World. Plexiglass in between booths and they are doing a great job of spacing people out. I feel very safe eating here. Can't wait to go back

Ordered online for pick up and I think this is the best value sushi I have been to in the suburbs. I highly recommend the nigiri, I did try the rolls which were ok. What really surprised me is the Hokkaido scallops was really delicious and melts in your mouth. Been to Japan lots of time and the nigiri comes really close to the taste. The wasabi was amazingly good. This type of sushi in the city would easily cost $50. I will be coming back!

We sat outside in the tent. Great food. It was one of the best around for the money. Ate a lot of sushi both my wife and I and we only spent $45.00 plus tip. Can't wait for covid to be over so we can eat inside and watch the sushi go around the conveyor belt.

  • 4/5 Eduardo J. 3 years ago on Google
I normally give it five starts but having to eat outside in those tents can be made more enjoyable if the heating system was better. Other than that, GREAT food as always.

We wanted to try a new place and the months specials advertised incentivized us to try here. 2 pieces of nigiri per order but the portions are smaller than most places so it basically was same amount of food split to two pieces. Ordered the blue fin tuna and “Waygu” specials, blue fin didnt taste fresh and the steak was chewy and definitely not waygu. Honestly between the many different types of salmon, tuna, hamachi and etc we ordered, most tasted slightly off and not fresh. My wife immediately said she did not like anything she tried. The only item that tasted fresher were the scallops. You win some you lose some but we will stick to the consistent quality we get down the street at our regular place.

As an avid sushi-eater, I can confidently say Kura is my favorite sushi restaurant in the Chicagoland area! My girlfriend and I have tried 30+ sushi places. We have a rank list of our top 15 in Chicagoland, and Kura is our #1! I would say their strongest suit is their fish marinade and sauces. Highly recommend their Umami oil nigiri, and their seared scallops. Their sushi rice is solid, and they're one of the few places that serves real wasabi rather than horseradish. I would say they have some of the best fish in the area, you can tell it's fresh and has full flavor. The staff is always very friendly and serves with a smile. For further recommendations, here's our top 3 in the Chicagoland area - - [x] Kura (Schaumburg) (1) - [x] Sushi-san (2) - [x] Umami sushi (3)

Went today and waited almost 2 hours and didn't get all our food. Sat outside in the cold and no one came to help us. No apology and no compensation. Most awful experience I've ever had there. If you guys can't figure out dine in as an option during this pandemic, then don't do it. It's clearly shows how badly managed this place currently is.

If you are a sushi lover and know what the real professional sushi is, I would not recommend this place. No professional decorations, and the quality as well. Ordered 12 plates, more than half of them were not rolled well at all, and the rest sushis stick to each other, doesn’t taste as real sushi.

  • 1/5 Gagan S. 3 years ago on Google
Poor service . I have never seen such unprofessional staff. I ordered something and the girl got me something else. Even after repeating multiple times she didn’t correct her mistake. I am still waiting for the food. Worst restaurant service I have seen till date.

  • 4/5 Orange X. 3 years ago on Google
Great visit. Outside with the tents wasn't so bad. This place is great to bring friends. Quality is alright but not great. The food came out fresh but no professional sushi rolls here. The rolls fall apart. My server was very kind and helped out as much as she could. Server really made the experience way more fun.
