I brought my daughter's here for a last minute hair trim. The beauticians were very nice to talk to and knew how to deal with a toddler in for her first hair cut. Definitely will be going again.

I was very happy with hair color and cuts by Josh, until I called yesterday to cancel my appointment due to circumstances beyond my control. He charged me $80 for not giving 24 hours notice. This is a small salon set up in a small house. That was an extravagant charge. Needless to say, I won’t be going back, and they lost a good client who always gave 20% tip. I would not recommend this “salon”. SMH

Josh is the best. My toddler is usually a big fan of his time with Josh, but at our last visit he had a massive tangle that Josh had to get out. Josh endured the screams, got kicked, and still gave my son a toy after it was over. He didn’t even charge us for the detangling. We’re lucky to have Josh. We’ll continue to go see him as our kiddo grows up and hopefully doesn’t act like an animal during haircuts. Highly recommend 10/10. Thanks Josh!

I am new to the area and was nervous about finding a good salon. I am SO hlad i found hair It Is. I love their personality, cute little shop, and Josh did exactly what I wanted with my hair.

They took me in right away; it was a lovely sweet experience; close-quarters so non vaccinated I feel isn’t “cool” to go but that is just my opinion ! The staff are super friendly and accommodating. Lovely cut too!!

Paid to be butchered. Giving 4 stars because I am nice & Josh was nice (enough). But he did not give me the cut that I specified. I used my hands to show him the angle that I wanted my Wedge haircut to be. The first cut he gave me was just a bob, essentially. He cut the front shorter than I specified, and there was barely an angle. To give me more of the angle I wanted, he had to take the back up shorter, but it is still not the dramatic angel that I wanted. I also don't love HOW he cut it-- more of a Supercuts style than the low-key, chic thing I wanted.

I had an excellent experience with Josh in terms of quality and cost. I've tried several places around Ithaca, and they could have been more impressive. However, Josh took his time cutting my hair rather than clipping everything and moving me along. I will be back.

Hannah is the best stylist I’ve ever had. She’s an artist and a great listener, and she will help you get exactly the look you’re going for.

I highly recommend Josh at Hair it is for his color knowledge, friendliness, and confidence to tell you what will work with your hair and current style trends, and what won’t. We’ve made color changes seasonally, and he’s taken the time to look at photos of my previous hairstyles. My 12 year old daughter enjoys his company and her cuts. I enjoy the setting and location. It’s easy to get to and park. The shop is in a small house w a total of 4 stylist chairs. It feels comfortable, not competitive. My experiences with Josh feel like visiting a family member who is great with cuts and color, so you don’t go anywhere else.
