I visited Shoto Cafe several times while I lived in Shibuya. The roast beef sandwiches are unbelievable, the coffee is very good, and the staff are out of this world. I was living and working remotely in Shibuya at the time and they helped make it feel like home. They always gave me a warm greeting and remembered my order (one staff member speaks great English). The chiffon cake was absolutely 10/10. So soft and juicy and fresh. Have a variety of cakes and coffee to choose from. Definitely my favorite cafe in Shibuya. The street was not busy so it’s nice getting there too.

Must try ! We had the chiffon cake and the roasted beef sandwich. It was really delicious. Cake was light & spongy. The toasted one had a delightful slight crispy texture. Just minutes away from the station.

Local cafe/restaurant where the portions of everything are so big and full and filling. Cuban sandwich was the best in my opinion, and even the desserts are also big and super filling. Such a gem! The music is wonderful too, it felt like you went back the past and stepped into a 80s-90s cafe somewhere that’s not Japan. Really cool local place with tasty food and drinks.

I stopped at Shoto Cafe before heading to The Shoto Museum of Art nearby. I got the toasted chiffon cake with cinnamon sugar for 790 yen. The cake’s texture was light and fluffy but not too sweet. The taste pairs perfectly with cinnamon and a hot coffee. The cafe was full so it was a bit loud, but I got the last table when I walked in around 4pm on a Thursday. I didn’t have any phone reception inside the cafe but I would visit again! The neighborhood is surprisingly quiet and peaceful being a 13 min walk from Shibuya station.
