Background: I was here three months ago and left a 5-star review, the Google wouldn't let me leave two reviews so I had to remove the stars from my last visit. Visit: I called ahead and requested an anniversary reservation. The waitress was nice and so was the chef. He asked was there a special occasion and we replied yes it is our anniversary! 🥳And we are here for the show! Except, there was no hibachi show! There is no ting ting with the spatulas, no onion train, no jokes and banter, no failed attempts at catching veggies in my mouth... just saki shots. So I said to the waitress so they must not do shows anymore... She did not respond. Then when people started to show up at the tables next to us it was a whole bunch of fire, commotion laughter and conversation and we sat there perplexed. At this point we are sad and disappointed and wondering why we did not get the show that every other table was getting. We didn't get the rice we ordered until the boxes came. So the waitress asked if we were ready for boxes. We really weren't but now it was just awkward. So I decided to speak to someone before I left, thinking something could be done to salvage the evening. So the hostess said she would grab the manager and we waited five minutes. He came up and introduced himself. I extended my hand to shake it and introduce myself. I proceeded to explain to him the events, or non events rather, of the evening and all he said was are you able to tell me who he was, tell me that he normally doesn't work at this location and that he was sorry for my bad experience. That was it. WE WERE SO SHOCKED. In a friendly manner, I further explained that no one comes here for a $40 steak because the steak is fantastic. People come here for a show and an experience to remember, you know? And we got none of it. So he repeated that he was sorry and that was it. He didn't take my information and didn't attempt to rectify it. Everyone we've told this story to cannot believe it! Our families won't be back for a while 🥺

My second visit here. What was good: Our chef and waiter were very good. The food was prepared as ordered and was absolutely delicious. The dinner "show" was entertaining and we enjoyed it thoroughly. What was not-so-good: We were a party of two and were added to a table that already had nine ... it was MORE than cramped and made the entire experience less than wonderful. Meanwhile, across the dining room, a chef cooked for a table of five. Hmmmmm. For some unknown reason, the chef served everyone at the table double yum-yum sauce and no ginger sauce although it was clearly on his cart. A few of us requested it and finally received it... just kinda weird to start off without it.

Wonderful food and great service. All their chefs are entertaining, and highly skilled, and they give you enough food to feed a small army

This place has phenomenal service. The hibachi is a wonderful experience, but the food is mediocre if you don't like teriyaki sauce. The hibachi can also be ruined depending on who you get sat with. We got unlucky with extremely rude people, so it wasn't entirely enjoyable. I feel bad for the chef, too. The appetizers, soup, and salad are one of the best I've had in a Japanese restaurant. I would be willing to revisit and sit in their regular dining room and order something other than hibachi.

The entryway is completely impossible for a person with a wheelchair to navigate, they have a long, steep ramp with a threshold that will not allow the front tires to clear. Luckily one of the patrons leaving helped back us up the ramp. Mass confusion at the desk, the hostess seemed new and overwhelmed. lots of folks with no reservation, nobody at the desk willing to deal with anyone. One of the hostesses was outside as we approached the door and on seeing us with the wheelchair snuck in and avoided holding the door open, nice. I won’t be too hard on the server; it appears as though she has at least nine tables. LOUD, there seems to be lots of birthday parties, which is fine but very very loud Oyster appetizer with miso infused mayonnaise is excellent and the sautéed squid was wonderful as well. Very cold and crispy salad, wonderful dressing. Edamame was okay but needed more salt. The atmosphere was spoiled by a very loud Russian person who eventually had to be asked to leave. The manager should have intervened much earlier than she did. We both had the Chirashi, it was not authentic in the least. No boiled shrimp, no fish roe, no pickles, no seaweed, no squid or octopus, it was 12 pieces of mediocre fish on a bed of rice with a small piece of tomago. It could have used less rice and way more variety of seafood. Adding insult to injury, one of the bowls had a large chip, chips like this are a breeding ground for bacteria and likely a health code violation. All in all, an interesting night but scratched off of our list of return destinations.

An amazing place to spend an evening. Our server Brent was wonderful and we never had an empty glass. The food was delicious, worth every penny, and our chef Justin was so friendly and funny and seemed like he was having fun cooking for us. I’m very grateful to both of them for making my daughter’s birthday special!!!!!

Our family went to celebrate my son and my birthday! The food and service were excellent! I hadn’t been there in a few years and I am glad my son chose this one for his birthday! He kept us laughing as he prepared our hibachi choices!

If you like cold food twice in a row you got the right restaurant! We got 30% discount from the manager after we sent our food back once because it was cold and guess what round 2 was just as cold if not colder. All the meats were cold and very disappointed manager wasn't the friendliest ended up giving my brother his meal free but I paid for both mine didn't ask for anything. The steak and chicken were so dried out you couldn't even think to eat it! 65 dollars down the drain! What a waste! We won't be back ever!

We reserved a time for Mothers Day. If you wanna come here you should reserve a time any day only the weekends. Food was fantastic! The Hibachi Chef was really good! Very funny! I’d recommend Wasabi to anyone who loves Hibachi. Of course you’ll spend lots of money, but worth it!

Our server was amazing! Our drinks, appetizers and food came out very quickly! Caramel Apple tini was perfect. Loved the tuna tartare. Was the best hibachi around. The dining area was too cold though, for my husband and I.

Such small portions for the amount of money. Charged us an extra $6 on rice that was supposed to come with our order and they didn’t refund us when we asked. Other than that, they had decent service. I was in a bad mood before coming here and since I was hungry, this made me more disappointed. This place is way too expensive, A1 Japan is way better. Their portions are basically triple the size and either the same cost or less!!

  • 2/5 Kim G. 3 years ago on Google
Ordered take out. Quite expensive for not a lot food and they didn't give us the 3-shrimp appetizer. Called and was brushed off by girl on the phone. Clearly states on menu that it is included. Food was tasty at least,.

Always friendly and happy! The atmosphere is busy, loud but not uncomfortable. The hostesses, servers, and cooks are amazingly polite, funny, and patient. The food is amazing and there are massive portions.

My meal was pretty good. Just not great. Our waiter was excellent. The chef was very good. Quite entertaining. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I’ve eaten at Wasabi before and the food was exceptional. This time it seemed a little less delicious. As usual, the portions were quite large. Which I do appreciate, since they do come and box up the leftovers for you. It’s perfect for next day lunch. My Elementary school age kids really enjoyed it as well. The food and the ambience. I will absolutely go back again soon! I highly recommend Wasabi.

It's fun for big groups or small! The hibachi chefs are fun and make most of the menu right there in front of you, and will squirt sake all over you! 😆 The food is delicious! While it's a lil expensive, I think we left with 3lbs of leftovers. Such a fun place and worth checking out with family and friends.

  • 3/5 Don J. 1 year ago on Google
our server was great. would give more stars if it not for our chef. not sure if he was one of the chefs, he didn’t have a chef hat on, while the others did. nice show though, but no flavor. seemed desperate for a tip. took out a bag of change. I usually tip but it made me not want to, just gave the server extra. hopefully next time we get a different chef.

Do not go here. I have never had a more miserable dining experience. The pipes burst and there was water all over the restaurant. The women’s bathroom was flooded as well. The heat wasn’t working. The inside of the doors to the restaurant were completely frosted over. And they kept saying that it was just the cooking vents that made the restaurant cold. We could all see our breath it was so cold in there. It felt like we were dining outdoors. And instead of informing people that their restaurant was having issues they just made excuses. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when you are shivering to try and keep warm. I will be calling the health department on this gross establishment.. I will never go here again and I would never recommend it to anyone.

We are disappointed and will not be returning! Here are the good things: Our waitress was friendly and was hustling Kids portions are big! Soup and salad are tasty in comparison to similar restaurants Here is what is bad: The hostess at arrival very unprofessional- phone plugged in and playing on it rather than helping to seat us or ask any questions to get us going. And we were only ones waiting to be seated in a 3/4 empty restaurant. Dressed as if they were headed to a picnic, not at a nice restaurant. Not friendly or welcoming. Got things off to a bad start. We wanted seated to order off menu (as opposed to Hibachi) and were told we could only order 4 Hibachi dishes for our party of 8. Which included the kids. And there were no other offerings for the kids but Hibachi. Food was mediocre- one person had cold food. One felt chicken breast was no better than cheapest at grocery store. Nothing special about the food. We were charged an automatic18% gratuity- we were there with just our immediate family of 6, plus one set of grandparents for a total party of 8. We did not see this listed anywhere. While understaffed, our waitress did the best she could and we would have tipped more if given the option on our own. We do not appreciate an automatic gratuity added. We were given an automatic extra charge on our bill for not paying cash. But we were paying in cash, and had to have this removed. Two items on our bill were overcharged by $4 each and had to also be removed. Bathrooms are dirty! We were there at a time restaurant was not busy and had not been opened long. When we were seated, the table cloth had not been changed from the party before us (maybe the night before?) and was filthy with sauce down the side, like they had covered the top and didn't realize all the sauce was still there. We won't go there again. A1 is similar, better staffed, cleaner, better food.

Seated on the table side of the restaurant, looked down at the table cloth and it was dirty , dried blood on the cloth . As I looked around at the cloths on the other tables, I noticed they all were dirty. The waitress removed the cloth from the table and I was seated at another table. Just observing as customers came and left, they don’t change out the table cloth , they just put paper over the table. Drinks were good but totally disgusted by the sanitation.

I have never had so much fun at dinner! The chef was absolutely amazing the way he interacted with everyone, including my 2 young grandchildren. Great showmanship and what a show he put on! The servings were plentiful and the food cooked to perfection. If I could rate our experience a 10 star I certainly would. Thank you for a memorable evening

2023 update: Same daughter, same birthday dinner. :) What's different about Wasabi, 3 years after my initial review? Nothing. The entryway is still cold, drafty, dirty, and for the length of time you must wait, strangely bereft of seating. There is one small bench. Chefs are amusing and they cook the food as ordered...but when a soda adds $3.20 to the bill, and frying the rice is $3.00 extra...that $23 chicken entree quickly balloons to $30 each for dinner. That's a lot for essentially a chicken breast, some rice/noodles/vegetables. Also - that 'fee' for paying with anything but cash can stuff it. 2020: One daughter chooses Wasabi for her birthday dinner every year. I enjoy it, the food is good and the chefs are entertaining. Sure, you end up taking home enough food for two more meals, so I guess I shouldn't complain that the prices keep going up. :)

We loved Wasabi & used to go all the time but after last night I'm not sure when/if we will be back. Dinner went as usual and then we got the bill - suddenly there's a $3 charge for fried rice p/person. No, not extra fried rice but just the rice that's supposed to come with your meal. It's not even a matter of the additional $20 bucks because had they just raised menu prices we wouldn't have given it a second thought - it's a matter of them tacking on this additional charge without any warning, it's just bad business practices and extremely disappointing.

Went here for our daughter's 7th birthday. Entertaining and delicious! She loved it. A little on the pricey side but you get dinner and a show.

Food was decent, pretty salty for our liking..my sushi was soso. Our waiter was a little slow, but very nice. Our hibachi chief was amazing and made the dinner great! Drinks were good. Overall, it was good.

Food was delicious, as always, & our cook was amazing, talked with us, joked, laughed, entertained well! Was a great date night with my hubby & we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on a Friday night! Can't wait to go back.

It was the best salad I’ve ever had in my entire life. I don’t know what they have use in there and they’re dressing but damn that was delicious their lobster and play. My Leon was just awesome. It was the best meal I’ve had in a long long time. Thank you so much. I hope you enjoy your Can-Am Kevin with Motor Sport Xpress.

Bartender and waitress. Was awesome. The hostess not so much. Multiple people tonight was told 10-15 min wait for the non hibachi side. An hr later finally seated. Waitress was very nice. Asked about 40 minutes in askedhow long until we have a table hostess said probably a while. Bathrooms were also horrible. I have never had a bad experience here. Hostess wouldnt even lookup when people walked in or walked out. They just continued to talk to each other. I was polite and didn't say anything. I usually don't leave horrible reviews but this was kinda insane

It's your standard Japanese steakhouse.... However, to me it is really overpriced. The quality is a little better than A1 Japan but not for the price they charge. If I am in then mood for a Japanese steakhouse I will mostly likely spend my money elsewhere.

Covid Review This place is absolutely awesome. The staff were very accommodating, and super friendly. It was my birthday, and they made me feel like a king. The food is outstanding. I've been to a couple places for hibachi but this was by far and away the best for portion and taste. The sushi was so fresh and delicious, and the portion was great for each roll. I'll be coming back and can't recommend enough

I love this place! Proportion sizes are great! Every time we go here we spend about as much as you would spend at any other sit-down restaurant. But, we go home with 2 full bellies and two full meals left over for lunch the next day 😊 The food is incredible, and the dining area is beautiful on both The hibachi side and the regular side.

Service was good. Entertaining, the chef was great. Food tasted delicious. The sushi was fresh. The amount of food we got was enough to feed us 3 meals. But it taste great warmed over. I really enjoyed myself.

Amazing service, Hibachi, and sushi. Great alcohol picks as well. The bartenders always seem to know their stuff and are very accommodating. Scene/decorations are nice as well. Been here roughly 30 times over the years, always leave with a full belly and a smile on my face. Keep up the greatness!

  • 4/5 Michael G. 3 years ago on Google
Food is good and really depends on the chef you get if the show will be good. While I think our chef tried to be funny and enteraining he wasn't very at all. Not sure his name was younger. You will spend a fortune here be prepared. 4 people was $175 with tip.

We went the other night and it was crazy busy. We were told 45 minute wait. That was ok we could go to some stores and kill time. But an hour and a half later we walk in to make sure they hadn't called the phone and we missed and they said it's still gonna be awhile. An hour later we were seated. So 45 minutes turned to 2 1/2 hours. Sat down, and no menu. Just a sheet with a barcode? Neither me or my husband's phones function that way. So asked for a menu and we get one. So we have to turn it sideways and try to both look at one menu. It was also so cold I couldn't take my coat off to eat. I was sitting there shivering. Once we got the food it was good. Was it worth 2 1/2 hour wait and sitting in freezing cold? Not really.
