The hotel itself was very nice with a great bar and breakfast. However my check in was a nightmare. When I arrived at my hotel I was told that I was not able to check in as there weren't any rooms ready even though it was pass the check in in time. After which, the front desk staff proceeded to check in a large group while still stating that there wasn't any rooms available. I wasn't able to get a room until after 9pm. All this time attempts were continually being made to charge my card even when i was not given a room which failed as i had my carded locked. The manager stated that due to the inconvenience, they would be comping my first night as well as adding a free breakfast to my room. Instead, my card was charged twice and, even though I was assured it would be fixed, nothing was done and the breakfast was still charged to my card. Very disappointed

Arrive at this beautiful Hilton in old downtown Jackson drive 5 1/2 hours from Georgia for a funeral service @ 1:50 am with our 10 year old and 4 month baby Front desk lady was okay for a Hilton experience didn’t receive a friendly greeting as we are used to, gave us our room key and the valet guy helped us up to our room. Our room was not made, pillow cases not on pillows and pillows sitting in chair bed not completely made so we immediately headed back to the front desk. Told her the issue she placed us in a bigger room with beds made perfectly. Called up from front desk right away to ask us how room was, at the time I hadn’t really looked around it’s late. I told her it was fine. Got all our things together and valet guy I starter checking bathroom found hair on floor call down immediately to inform the front desk. I would have left but it’s in the middle of the night. We were extremely tired , so after finding hair I started to really take a look around found all kinds of things on the floor under the beds in the towels and I completely mortified! I would not recommend this place. Strong odor of urine should have been a sign but of course it’s late. I have a background in hospitality and this is completely unacceptable and for the price. I’ve taken pics and videos and will be in contact with the company about this manner. Couldn’t get much sleep at all because of the filth!

Where to begin. Diamond member with Hilton. Got to hotel late, no water/gift for being a Diamond member. I did get upgraded to 2 room suite. Got to room, curtains do not work; electric type. Both windows were covered so bedroom was dark, but light coming through in the morning and no way to adjust. Found plastic trash on the floor. The AC in the bedroom barely kept the room cool enough at night. The AC in the main room did not cool. I had to power cycle a few times and then on the second day it started working. Everything feels dated, dirty and old. I requested room service on the second day and was told no problem, got back later in the day and nothing. I went downstairs to at least get some more coffee and cups, they could not even find any cups! Handed me a coffee cup and that was it. The ladies at the front desk have all been nice for the most part, I believe they are trying but all the issues with the hotel are just unacceptable. Rather than the owner / manager spending time responding to my post, just spend some time and money and get this place in shape.

Stay Lasted 3 Hours. This is the first time in an extensive amount of travel I’ve ever checked out of a hotel without staying. The toilet did not flush. There was hair in the shower, on towels and pillows. There were stains on the pillows and bedding. The floor needed to be vacuumed. It was just gross. I will say the staff was accommodating and friendly though with my issue and I drove to a nearby out Marriott property without further issue. I wouldn’t stay here.

Do not stay here. The building is beautiful, but there’s better hotels around the area for cheaper. I’m sure they’re experiencing a staffing shortage, but for $170+ a night I expected more. Check in was very slow. We had to wait to be buzzed in. There was someone sitting at the desk and did not answer. Another hotel guest came by and let us in. For others, the valet had to move one of the glass doors to let them in. The room was not cleaned. It hadn’t been vacuumed and there were still items in the trash. The beds didn’t have a fitted sheet. So it was either sleep on the mattress protector or use the comforter as a blanket and sleep on the top sheet. The mattress protector was stained. We were given two towels for a 4 person room. We asked for more and did not receive them. The indoor pool is the reason we booked here. It was dirty and disgusting. The door to exit the pool was broken. The $14 breakfast was powdered eggs, undercooked potatoes, and cornbread pancakes. Changing the thermostat did nothing to the temperature of the room. The surrounding area does not feel safe. I could have saved $100 a night if I wanted these types of accommodations.

I was happy to stay here and appreciated the location. It’s right by the Amtrak station and close to the capitol. All the staff I encountered were pleasant and helpful. The room was fully modernized with enough outlets, updated bathroom, and powerful a/c. My one suggestion is to make sure those shades completely cover the windows so I can sleep late. There was something going on with the (basement) pool. Water was leaking out into the hall from under both glass doors. The night I arrived, there was some sort of private party (wedding reception?) It was entertaining to watch the folks dressed up and posing in the beautiful lobby. Unfortunately, the front of the building was very congested, with many cars parked all around the block. Only later did I realize that there were valets. This would be good information to communicate to guests before they arrive. The valets, when they weren’t parking cars, served as attentive and courteous doormen. I would be glad to stay here again next time I come to Jackson.

I went just to get away for the weekend.. the hotel was nice but the ac would not go lower than 74 degrees. The room was clean. Valet was ok. They took too long to get your vehicle.

From the front desk and walk way you are expecting phenomenal service. Well it's not gonna happen. Worst Hilton I stayed at. Different offer the usual expectation of a Hilton hotel. The air conditioning was awful. Our room did NOT cool down from 72 all night. There weren't enough towels in the room and they didn't have enough until we checked out. We were a party of four and had two towels in our room. The bedding had all kinds of small cuts in it. The front desk staff members were nice however not very helpful. The sheets didn't smell fresh at all. This is a two star hotel at best.

Wish I didn’t have to give any more stars. Please be aware THIS IS VALET PARKING ONLY, that mixed with how sketchy downtown is doesn’t make one feel safe. Called to try to change my reservation to a different Hilton hotel but was told that since I checked in on my phone from Little Rock it was as if I was already there in my room and they “could do nothing to help me.” So I gave them some free money they didn’t have to work for but Hilton can rest assured that after the reservations I have already made I will likely be swapping to Marriott.

If you have to travel to Jackson Mississippi do not stay at this hotel. It is considered a 4 star hotel but it does not live up to its stars. 1. My room was dusty everywhere, which means it is not cleaned well 2. No rags in my room and when I asked for some they brought me rags you clean the bathroom with 3. The phone in the room doesn't work 4. The blanket is really then so I asked for another blanket and was given a duvet cover with no duvet I am really disappointed in this hotel. I am a travel agent and I will be posting this in all of my agent groups. With pictures

Horrible, don't waste your money. They over booked the hotel and don't have enough staff to clean the rooms so that they are available at check in. As a Hilton Honor member this is the worst experience I've ever had. I arrived at 2:30 and was told I had to wait until 4pm. The front desk staff was not friendly nor did they offer water after I asked about the AC being on. I was told the reason for the lobby temperature was due to the front doors opening, it was 100° outside. Once 4pm arrived floods of people showed up to check in only to be told their rooms were still not ready after waiting for hours. After asking what was going on I was told they have been under staffed the past two days. They were over staffed at the front desk as the staff was staniding around talking for the 2 hours I waited for my room. For the price they are charging per night the service does is not measure up. Ultimately I canceled the reservation and booked the Hampton Inn which had professional staff and rooms cleaned and ready which I arrived. This was a huge inconvenience to change hotels due to being town for a wedding and that was the preferred hotel selected by the bride and groom.

When you pay more than $100 a night there are certain expectations that are expected. When you pay over $150 a night even more so. Like being able to check in on time to a clean room, having working elevators and running water for showers. I will say that most of the front desk help was for the most part was very nice even though not exactly helpful. That being said the lobby is beautiful with historic charm and modern amenities.

My stay was last weekend. The valet guys were nice and being guest of the hotel I don’t think we should have to pay for velvet parking. The room hadn’t been cleaned from the previous quest. There were dirty socks underneath one of the beds and price tags from clothes in the covers of the other. Very disgusting to know that we were laying on dirty sheets. This is the very reason I usually take my own but I forgot to grab them before I left home. There were ants in the bathroom and the room didn’t have a fresh clean smell. We had to call the front desk 3 times for towels just to be told that we would have to come down to the desk to get them. Very disappointed. Never again will I chose this hotel.

I stayed here with a group twice this week. For our first check-in, we arrived at 3:30pm and were unable to check in, as check-in is at 4pm. Fair. 4pm came and went and our rooms were not ready. We were finally shown to the room at 5pm, after compromising for one bed bedrooms that would require us to share beds. No further issues asides from the pool being under maintenance (which they did forewarn on their website). For our second check-in, we arrived at 6pm. Despite our later arrival, the rooms were once again not ready. We had a sick person in our group and to their credit, they expedited clean up for her and she was given a room soon after. I was finally assigned a room at 7:30pm. Unfortunately, the key to the room did not work, so they had to send in someone from maintenance to fix it. He showed up 15 min later and opened the door to a dirty room. He spoke to the front desk on our behalf and we were officially shown to a room at 7:55pm. We almost had to cancel our evening plans as the driver was scheduled to pick us up at 7pm. We were lucky not to have any issues with cleanliness and the water pressure in the bathroom was decent. Breakfast seems pretty overpriced at +$16 (after tax), especially for the food options they provide. The hotel is fine once you get in. That said, I would try any other hotel before staying here again. The check-in process is too stressful to make any of it worth it.

The location is perfect if you're looking to explore downtown and the capital. The staff was friendly and although the hotel seemed old, it was fairly well kept up. The rooms, however, we're far from clean. I would still recommend it to something traveling through for a day.

So I’ve had to stay at this Hilton location for work due to its proximity to a client twice now, despite repeat poor conditions of the property, the surrounding areas, the rooms, and the customer service provided. I was booked with them in error for a last minute trip, where I had to get to Jackson immediately, and upon entering the hotel there was a horrible scent in the lobby, there was criminal activity and domestic disputes happening right in front of the location. Given the lack of safety surrounding the area and the poor conditions of the hotel, I decided the safest and wisest thing to do would be to cancel the reservation, and book at a different Hilton hotel, as a Hilton Honors member. The hotel refused to to waive or approve a cancellation fee, and charged me a full night stay despite me having never checked in or staying that night, and booking at another Hilton location. I booked at the Homewood Suites instead, and the hotel and the customer service was night and day. The staff was wonderful and the rooms were well kept and clean. Most importantly the area was substantially safer, there wasn’t drug dealings and addicts in front of the building, and people panhandling along the street. They went above and beyond from start to finish and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience there. I’ll be leaving a five star review there. When I reached out to Hilton regarding the issue they were completely unresponsive and accommodating, stating there was nothing they could do regarding the charge and the overall experience, despite me having stayed at another Hilton location instead. To be honest, the brand simply cannot compete with the level of customer care and service provided by Marriott, Hyatt, Wyndham, or IHG to their rewards members, and I will be keeping that in mind as I continue my business travel. I’m letting you know so you can do the same, but if for some reason you just stay at Hilton location in Jackson, MS. Save yourself the hassle and book at the Homewood Suites.

This property did everything we needed plus some. The room was very clean, quiet and the security was tight. The service was top notch, valet greeted us and helped with luggage to the door, the front manager pointed us to the front desk and we had no issue with the check in or access to the room. Great breakfast area and lounge. The pool is small with little to no lounging area (as with most downtown properties). Lot of children running around made for a loud area so we skipped the pool time.

Our stay was absolutely great at Hilton Garden. When we pulled up we were greeted by an extremely friendly valet who helped us with our luggage. Matt from valet even took our luggage to our room. The check in was great and the room was clean and comfortable. We also had delicious food and drinks at the bar even though the wait time was a little longer than to my liking. Excellent service by the hotel manager Salmun who met us at both check in and check out. We travel regularly from Florida to Louisiana and this is now our regular stop

Just stopped for a night at this hotel passing through on my way to Memphis. Could not fault any aspect of the hotel. The staff of reception and at the bar went above and beyond with their level of service, advice and making sure I was helped beyond expectation. It’s a normal hotel, you get what you pay for at the price level but the you would not get better service with a smile anywhere else for this money. They are a credit to Jackson.

Beds uncomfortable, didn't seem clean as it should have been, and was locked out of room for over an hour in the middle of the night, due to key not working, and no maintenance on site. Was told GM would be notified to give compensation, but was not and no compensation provided. Air also didn't work well the first night, second night it was fine. Luckily was is Fall, so it wasn't so hot. Good location with it being downtown, decent rate. But Wouldn't recommend.

You can't trust this hotel, you will be left out in the cold. This hotel made me reservations for the night we arrived at the airport on the 9th of May. @ 11:30 pm. On our way to the hotel in an Uber, they called us to let us know they had overbooked and didn't have a room for us. We were left stranded on the side of the road, trying to find other accommodations. we were stranded for hours and finally found a place to lay our head at about 2am. I have tried to reach out to them to express my frustration, but I just keep getting the run around and computer generated emails. No one will even call me to apologize.

The front desk staff and valet employees are amazing and welcoming! My problem is with the hotel rooms themselves, it’s pitiful. There is barely any parking to SAFELY check in and remove your bags from the car. The first hotel room the A/C didn’t work but thankfully it was chilly outside that I didn’t bother having my room changed. The 2nd room, there was a shade blind but there wasn’t a second shade for privacy. If there was, the chain was removed and I couldn’t bring it down. Also, the mini fridge had several cans of Canada Dry I’m assuming from the last guest and one of them exploded in the fridge. Thankfully, I didn’t have a use for the fridge and it wasn’t worth switch rooms for. I cleaned the room with Lysol and thankfully I brought my own blanket so not worry about sleeping in a half-cleaned hotel.

The location of the hotel is very convenient to the downtown area. There is only a small unloading space out front that was full each time we arrived so we had to carry our luggage in from the parking garage. We had requested a room change to 2 queen beds but they weren’t able to accommodate it. They said for $25 we could get a roll away bed. We agreed because we needed the bed. They brought it very promptly but only brought a fitted and flat sheet. I asked the front desk for a blanket and we were told they don’t do blankets any more after Covid…..so despite us bumping the AC up to 68 for the night, my son barely slept because he was cold. I asked the new staff member the following morning and that gentleman actually got us a blanket. Overall the room is adequate but the door to the ac filter was open when we came in the room and it doesn’t appear to have ever been changed. If you like hot showers, this is not the place for you. Then lastly, we got breakfast downstairs. $50 for 3 people. Ok fine. But go to the buffet and everything but the grits were empty. I had to go search for staff to request it to be refilled. Then we had to search for staff again when we were ready to check out and leave. Overall it seems this location is poorly managed.

Horrible. The hotel smelled like a pest spray. Our room was not cleaned during our time out. We asked for a blanket and they didn’t give us one. If you know you have a certain amount of rooms with a certain amount of beds then you should have extra blankets or pillows. Very frustrating to be in a top brand hotel and get low rate service or a hotel that has bad staff/service. Our garbage can wasn’t emptied and our towels were not changed. Even the garage can in the lobby was overflowing with garbage and this was 8/9 in the morning. The company needs to really update the hotel. Update the elevator and bring in staff that want to work. Just a very bad experience for a HILTON ESTABLISHMENT

This hotel looks nice however my room wasn’t ready until an hour and 20 minutes after the check in time. When I finally got to my room, there wasn’t a shower curtain in the shower. I called the front desk twice to request a shower curtain. I did not receive it until I physically went to the front desk the next day to request it. I booked an additional room for the 2nd night. I went to the front desk at 7 pm and was told that they didn't have the 1 bedroom king suite that I booked available but they could give me a regular king room instead. I requested a discount for the inconvenience and was told that I would get the room at a discounted rate (after researching, they charged me the normal price). The A/C went out in my room and they sent the engineer to fix it. Apparently it was a temporary fix because the thermostat was set at 67 degrees but the room temp read 74 four hours after it was "fixed". Overall this was one of the worse experiences that I have had at a Hilton brand hotel. I would never stay there again. Adding to my review since I can’t comment on the hotel’s response: There wasn’t a discount on a hR king room. I wouldn’t have said that without double checking. And the discount on the 2 queen bed room came from my Hilton Honors points so please stop lying! Thanks

Linens were filthy; I ended up separating the duvet cover and turning it inside out to sleep on top. Had it not been late when I finally got to the room, I'd have requested a new room or clean linens. It was truly bad. The bed was at least comfortable. The bartender was very friendly, talkative, and skilled; the valet was prompt and friendly; the other staff seemed bothered to be there during breakfast. Definitely needs improvement in the cleanliness department.

The hotel has gone way down in the last few years. The rooms were very nasty as the walls were stained and dingy. The entire hotel reeked of marijuana. We were in town to bring our newborn daughter to the doctor and we asked for an extra pair of sheets for her bed at the front desk on two separate occasions. We also called the front desk twice and still never received the sheets. The receptionist at the desk basically lied to us and said she would bring them to us and never did. Instead she was fraternizing with an individual whose pants were sagging and he looked like he walked in off the street. Our room did not have a window curtain so it stayed lit most of the night making it difficult for us to sleep and keep our baby asleep. A day later, we realized we left an item on the room possibly and tried to contact housekeeping on multiple occasions to check the lost and found and no one has returned our call. We will not be staying at this Hilton location again. As a Hilton Honors member, I expected way better and am very disappointed.

I’ve never stayed in a hotel that doesn’t have curtains…until now. There was a thin mostly-translucent shade over the large window in my room, but nothing else. Got terrible sleep as a result. Pretty much everything else was fine. Clean room and virtual check in was easy

Hotel room was absolutely filthy! We had to move to a different room due to there being roaches in our room. There was makeup stains all over the pillows & bed sheets in the "new" room that we were placed in. Therefore, I knew the sheets hadn't been changed. There was hair all over the room & the towels had a coffee or pee stain on them. I was completely disgusted by it. NEVER AGAIN will I stay there!!! Update!!!! I was contacted by the manager Sal & he went above and beyond to rectify the issue! He restored my faith in Hilton Garden Inn again! Thanks Sal for all your help!

The hotel is beautiful and the staff was friendly and helpful overall. Several were exceptional. The room was nice and clean but they do seem to be short staffed and this led to a few minors concerns. Staff worked hard to help and take care of all concerns.

This hotel needs serious work. Air conditioning in the rooms was shot. Moved from the first room because the unit stopped working. The night before check-out the unit in the second room began to fail. Water in the shower and sink ran brown, had to let it run an extended amount of time before it ran clear. The hotel lobby and restaurant were infested with flies. The hotel staff discussed internal grievances while I waiting to be served. The hotel was also short-staffed. Cleaning services were not offered, which I understand, but clean towels should have been offered.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY AT THE HILTON GARDEN INN in DOWNTOWN JACKSON!!! I was there 6/3/2022 to 6/5/2022. The line was long at check-in and the lobby was HOT although the rest of the hotel seemed cool!!! Near midnight, there was a bug on my bed the first night (I have pics). The front desk associate said they were booked so I couldn’t change rooms. At breakfast early the next morning, there was ONLY ONE WAITRESS AND ONE CHEF!!!! Also, it was STILL HOT! The very limited cold breakfast options are not worth the ~$11.00. Also, they ran out of clean towels that Saturday morning. My room didn’t have a tub, only a shower, which was not clean. I’ve called them multiple times, and I’m STILL waiting for the manager to respond to the extra charges on my bill, and the adjustments for the first night’s stay because of the bug on my bed. I keep getting the run around. Overall, they are short staffed, and I DO NOT RECOMMEND staying there.

I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn for Jackson State University 's homecoming. The biggest event that is held in Jackson, MS. I arrived before my original checking time and was met with a sign stating that a $75 charge would be imposed to check in early. This has never been a policy at this hotel and I've been staying at this hotel during Jackson State University 's homecoming every year for the last 8 years. I refused to pay the charge since the receptionist couldn't show me in writing where this policy existed. When I got to my room, the bathroom shower walls had black mold on them and their was no housekeeping service during entire stay. The bar & restaurant closed early because they ran out of food and their was only one manager on duty the entire weekend. The GM and all of the other managers were on vacation during one of the busiest weekends. The entire hotel was sold out! The GM should be fired! How do you go on vacation during the biggest revenue weekend for Hilton Garden Inn! The highlight of the entire weekend was the valet service. Those guys were awesome! They was really working hard make sure that people didn't wait a long time for their vehicles. I've been a Honors member for a very long time and I've never stayed at a Hilton Hotel as bad as this one. I WILL NOT BE PATRONIZING THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN!

Stayed for a family reunion recently. A few small negatives about the rooms, however most, if not all were remedied quickly by an AMAZING staff. From the front desk, to the valet and housekeeping, everyone was top notch. Especially Mr. Williams who went above and beyond while making sure all of our events went off without a hitch. Fantastic job!

The rooms were pretty nice but I did notice a smashed cockroach by the headboard. It was made aware to us that housekeeping only comes to guest rooms Who stayed at the hotel for longer than four days. That wouldn’t have been a problem if we were made aware of that at check-in or if it post on the website. When we came down to the front desk, they refused to give us additional towels.
