Starvin Marvin, has stepped up the food game. His Red snapper is amazing & Fried to perfection. We had fish Grits & potatoes. Everything was really, really good. I'm a food truck owner, so I know good food. Service was on point. Place very comfortable. Limited seating, but very perfect. It's right in heart of down town.

Came here a little after lunch. It’s located in the downstairs portion of a condo. The staff was friendly. The food was very delicious. I ordered their fried chicken with French fries. It came with a bun. The chicken was perfectly fried and perfectly crispy. The fries were very good too. I haven’t tried their seafood but they have a lot of it on their menu. I would definitely come here again.

Great place to get bone in fish and seafood overall. The fish and shrimp are huge so that’s a plus. The customer service from the owner is great as well.I got the whiting with shrimp breakfast, which comes with eggs and grits. 🤤 *Grits and eggs are under paper*

You have to come here. Don’t go no where else for wings and seafood. This is the best I’ve had in years. Food and seasoning are fresh, service is very good, and they play smooth jazz music. I was going to do a pick up order but when I saw how chill it was I had to stay. I hope they stay around and are able to expand. If I could give 10 stars I would.

The customer service is phenomenal!! The seafood is fresh. I ordered the red snapper and shrimp. My StarSeed couldn't decide so I got her the fish sandwich w/o bones and buffalo wings. We ordered alot and was stuffed for the rest of the day! Oooh and and did I say it's a Black Own business whoot! Whoot! Make sure you check them out!

OMG!!! I cannot believe how fresh, well seasoned, and delicious my whiting, oysters and shrimp are. I was looking for a Black owned restaurant to patronize during my time in Jacksonville. I’m so happy I found this place. Food takes a while because they have to descale the fish; it’s fresh, so it’s welll worth the wait. Customer service is impeccable. BTW, Marvin you handled that rude customer accordingly 🤣! I’ll definitely be back!! CRAB CAKE IS ALSO DELICIOUS!!

Mannnnnn get here ASAP if you have never tried it! We went to this location for breakfast and sat inside to eat. We ordered swai breakfast plate with shrimp and a bacon breakfast bowl. Once we tried the food, we ordered more shrimp just because it was just that good!!! Me and my partner CLEANED our plates and left nothing. I usually take photos for my reviews but after trying the first bite, I forgot I had a phone! The photos do not do this place justice. The customer service was on point. Everything was fresh. The shrimp were huge and cleaned. The grits were soft and seasoned. You will be full and would like to take a nap lol. We almost went right back for dinner! Definitely go to this place and you will not be disappointed!

I ordered fish and grits. I didn't even realize it came with eggs, and they were scrambled to perfection! It was almost so pretty I didn't want to eat them, but they tasted as good as they looked! I asked for the head off my snapper, and this fish was huge and seasoned PERFECTLY! Even though toast that came with my meal was the softest bread buttered and toasted just how I like it. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it lol. Great meal!

Fresh and tasty very well seasoned . When bjtjng into the oyster and shrimp the crispness was just right. Will definitely visit again and please don't forget the cup of yummy fruit punch made it all come together in my belly lol

Tried this place for the first time today with my family. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff who took the time to go over menu and made great recommendations. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the snapper and shrimp and it was a 10/10. Definitely will be back.

Man we stopped in today 2/18 and was really impressed. We ordered to snapper and fries, oysters and fries, crab cake, Cajun wings and fries and corn nugget. EVERYTHING was on point. Huge piece of fish and shrimp. It was all seasoned to perfection. Never had corn nuggets with somemany kernels of corn you could actually see. Because everything is prepared and cooked fresh you may have a little wait, but worth with it. The service was great. Loved it Marvin and family.

I saw great reviews for this place all over Facebook, Chef John Cartel sang their praises, so I HAD to check them out and lemme say I was not disappointed one bit. I ordered shrimp and fries with a side crabcake and baybay!!! Talk about flavor. The crabcake was divine and the shrimp delish and the fries were perfect. I'll be back with people! Photo is proof I loved it!!

Visited Starvin Like Marvin and did not disappoint. I heard great things so I had to try for myself. I bought the snapper/shrimp combination. The snapper was huge (was my blessed and lucky day to get this size snapper). The seasonings were on point. Every carving on the snapper had seasonings which is a definite plus in my book. (Unseasoned fish in its entirety is no good) just my opinion. The shrimp were big and also seasoned and fried to perfection. The one flaw in my humble opinion is that the gills were still in the whole fried fish. Marvin, the entire head is good to eat except the gills. Maybe you can work on that? Besides that I enjoyed everything to the fullest and will definitely be back.

Food was fresh, plentiful and delicious. Restaurant was immaculate and tables were cleaned and sanitized immediately after use. Menu was posted and easy to decipher. Mrs. Hearman greeted every guest and regular with a warm smile,and a welcoming demeanor. After my order was taken I spent a few minutes watching football and enjoying the friendly banter that went along with it. Great food, atmosphere and customer service! I had the shrimp and oyster combo and added scallops with okra, and I highly recommend!

This place was amazing! Let’s start with the service. The staff was very friendly. They patiently explained the menu and made suggestions based on what I liked. Then the food came! It was hot and delicious!! As soon as I finished my food, my plate was cleared from my table. I’m definitely coming back.
