I
was
invited
to
attend
a
yoga
retreat
being
hosted
by
Black
Cat
Yoga
in
the
Blue
Ridge
Mountains.
It
seemed
like
the
perfect
place
to
unplug
and
get
away
from
the
world,
and
it
was!!
Once
I
arrived
to
the
cabin,
there
was
a
thoughtful
swag
bag
curated
with
a
black
cat
studio
blanket,
sticker,
journal,
itinerary,
and
flashlight
for
evening
walks.
Lisa
and
Kevin
worked
together
and
created
a
perfect
environment
for
us
to
enjoy.
The
yoga
practices
were
full
of
permissions
to
modify
postures,
information
that
I
can
only
explain
as
yummy
nuggets
to
deepen
your
practice
or
help
you
drop
in
for
the
ride,
and
they
provide
their
own
soundtrack
using
their
own
instruments.
I
trained
to
be
an
instructor
at
a
big
school
in
Jax,
but
have
never
experienced
a
studio
that
offers
asana
(physical
practice),
kirtan
(singing
in
Sanskrit),
yoga
nidra
(deep
meditation),
and
sound
baths
(just
magical).
These
are
all
of
the
things
Lisa
and
Kevin
planned
out
painstakingly
for
us.
Additionally,
we
took
a
field
trip
to
an
orchard
and
tried
different
ciders
and
had
a
planned
trip
to
hike
to
a
waterfall
(weather
did
not
permit
the
latter).
Aside
from
the
planned
itinerary,
there
was
some
down
time
should
you
be
interested
in
a
Thai
massage
or
emotional
release
session.
I
highly
recommend
an
emotional
release
session
with
Christina,
that
is
also
the
cook
at
The
Heartwood
Retreat.
I
look
forward
to
visiting
Black
Cat
Yoga
when
I
visit
home
again,
as
well
as
booking
a
future
retreat.
What
an
experience!!
