We sometimes forget about how excellent Taverna is. Locally owned in trendy San Marco, with outdoor seating perfect for people watching. Service is always on point, exciting food offerings. One should not miss out on this restaurant. Two thumbs up

Located in the heart of San Marco. Parking is a hunt. Restaurant is nice. Service was great. Menu selections were good. I’ve just had better Italian and was not excited about a $55 lunch for one. I split a beet salad and had a bowl of soup, two regular coffees in which I added a shot of Baileys to each. I also bought bread and olive oil for table. The beet salad I was sad about because I love them. The greens were bitter and the oranges were sour. My Italian wedding soup… I think I got half a meatball and there was not much flavor. Some in my group thought the food was good and othered thought mediocre.

First time to Taverna, and I absolutely loved it!! The Halibut special with saffron risotto and a piquillo sauce was amazing. I lovely mix of flavors and colors. Presentation was beautiful! We also had the Chicken Fettuccine with tomato. The olive appetizer was tasty too, the olives mild in flavor.

I’m not sure if I have ever had a more perfect night - Between the company and the atmosphere my night was amazing! What a flawless evening! We did not put a cap on our night, we had appetizers, main meal, bottle of wine, and dessert cocktail… so the price of our meal wasn’t small - but TOTALLY worth it! Our server Ryan was spectacular! Food servings HUGE so we definitely could have shared our food to make the cost more manageable, of course the left overs will be consumed soon so not to worry ;) - Next time we will make our reservations for outside - and start at the bar!

Amazing service!! Staff got us in quick, seated us, and served us in the perfect timeframe. The food was absolutely delicious and high quality so we didn’t mind the higher prices. Great spot in the heart of San Marco. Really classy vibe inside. They have a nice bar as well and specialty drinks. Highly recommend to folks who are looking to jump in for a nice lunch or dinner.

Outstanding! Taverna is truly incredible! The food, the atmosphere, the drinks, and the service are always impressive! Everything is always cooked to perfection! Truly amazing and I highly recommend! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu in my opinion. Chefs kiss! 🤍

I ordered the house chicken and on bed of veggies, which was delicious. My only complaint is that one of the pieces of chicken was too pink for my liking. I had the chocolate creme brulee, which I would recommend. I didn't make reservations but I would recommend it, as it was busy, even on a weekday.

The brussel sprout appetizer was very tasty. The salmon, scallops, and truffle fries were also good. My salmon was slightly over cooked and the restaurant was very loud, but otherwise a good experience:

Everything's handmade. Should I say more ? Five star restaurant in the nicest atmosphere you can picture for the word "relaxation." Your waiters and waitress are very friendly. Great conversations. This is a place where you can go ; where you can just get away . You know ? Take it from me. I don't know better hospitality than Taverna/Oceana.

Cute location and space. I enjoyed eating outside. I enjoyed the truffle oil on my ravioli, but the chicken was a little overcooked. I chose three stars because though the food was good it wasn’t “$30 + tip” good. Our waitress, Connie, was very helpful and kind, however the hostess wasn’t super inviting (maybe she was having a rough day🤷🏼‍♀️).

One of my favorite restaurants with a great upscale casual vibe. Service was good. We had a large party in front of us, so food was surprisingly slower than I remember from prior visits. Menu is great and they offer half size portions on some dishes. The best charcuterie board we’ve ever had. Full bar and great wines.

I have been wanting to visit Taverna as I have read good reviews about their food. Reservation is encouraged as they can get busy. As for the parking, it has always been our issue when we go to this area, and true enough, we could not find one immediately. The vibe of the place is casual on a Sunday brunch. They have a tv on the side of the reception area but surprisingly none at the bar. It would've been nice to watch a football game while waiting for our food. Anyways, we ordered the following: Bloody Mary- this is just like any average Bloody Mary, next time I will ask for a celery, they were pretty busy so I did not bother. Braised Short Rib Benedict- hubby and I both loved this dish! Very flavorful, but quite pricey for the portion. Turkey and Brie - this was a miss for me. I love Brie, and I could not taste it. The cranberry overpowered the sandwich. The ratio of bread to the filling is not balanced. I also requested to substitute the fries for a salad. Our server asked if I wanted tomatoes and onions with it and I said yes. I did not realize there will be an additional charge. Our server only came back once and did not even ask if we wanted a dessert. For the three items that we ordered, our total bill was $69 including the tip and I was not satisfied, to be honest. Overall, we would probably come back and try the pasta and their other entrees. I should've ordered the pasta in the first place as they specializes in Italian food.

It was a very pretty interior and the food was amazing. The service was exceptional and I would definitely be returning for another visit. The drinks were strong but not overwhelming. The food was great and I would recommend the ravioli and get the chicken with it. The only reason I am giving them 4 out of 5 stars is the price is a little high for the area. I understand it is handmade and with the price of everything going up but $32 for ravioli is crazy.

We had not been in a couple years so decided to do a date night. Thought it would be enjoyable with the beautiful weather to sit on their patio, but within 10 minutes that enjoyable evening was quickly bashed, so we'll keep this at 3 stars because it just absolutely ruined the evening. The party of 8 was so loud we literally could not hear ourselves talk across the table to each other. For the food, it was excellent. We started with their herbed ricotta with grilled bread and fig jam. For dinner my wife had the pear salad topped with grilled shrimp and she said it was amazing. I went with the antipasto which was excellent as well. The smaller portions of each were perfect size wise after the appetizer. We split the lava cake. It was very good as well but note that this lava cake is meant for single serving so it is extremely small compared to most other restaurants lava cakes.

Absolutely my favorite playground for my taste buds. Creative drinks and amazingly curated dishes.

Food and cocktails were excellent. Great service. The place gets a bit loud with the high ceilings. It could use some sound dampening. Will definitely be going back.

We popped in here on a whim before going to the Nutcracker and we were able to snag two seats at the bar. This place is AMAZING. The bartenders were so engaging and efficient, I told the bartender I was pregnant and he created a unique cranberry mocktail just for me! The food came out in 10 mins, which was perfect because we were in a hurry. The Burrata was everything we hoped it would be, combined with the tomatoes and fig jam on the bread it was heavenly. The kitchen split our Caesar salad for us which was thoughtful and the lettuce was crisp. The meatballs were beautifully savory and filling, exactly what I had hoped for. We were in and out in 45 mins (exactly how much time we had before the show), and we had a great meal, fun conversation, and drinks. We throught the pricing was fair as well. We would definitely return for another meal.

For the price, you should expect more, and better. My wife and I each had 2 drinks, and split a salad and a dinner. I’ll start with the drinks, I had 2 old fashions. They were $28 each. This is an unreasonable amount and it’s unrealistic to imagine anyone would return knowing this. This is a $12-$16 drink nationally on average. I politely asked if I am reading the bill correctly and it was explained that they “do a double pour for old fashions”. So I asked again “you’re telling me there was 4oz of whiskey in each of those drinks?” The bartender responded; they use 1-1/4oz as a normal pour, but with old fashions they use 2.5oz. Bearing in mind that a standard recipe for an old fashioned calls for 2oz., this is not a reasonable explanation for the $28ea pricing as 2.5oz is only a 1/2 ounce more than the recipe calls for. This was an expensive experience for both myself and the restaurant. I highly doubt I’ll recommend anyone visit the bar here for drinks. Otherwise, the beet salad was good, the Brussel sprouts were good, like most other places make them, and the mussels were mussels and came with one small piece of garlic toast. Since we were sharing, we asked for another piece of toast. Of course you’ll see the up-charge on the bill. The positive side was that the service was fantastic and friendly.

Taverna doesn't need another glowing review, but they're going to get one anyway. Aside from the terrific food and atmosphere, Taverna did not disappoint for our special occasion. We had a perfect table with attentive and courteous staff who tastefully acknowledged our celebration with a round of bubbly. We don't "go big" that often, so when we do, we have high expectations. Ours were met. Thank you!

Looking at the menu beforehand I didn’t have high expectations. The menu isn’t very vegan/vegetarian friendly so my options were already limited and I figured I wouldn’t really be able to experience all the restaurant had to offer. Well my expectations were exceeded. Everything was fresh. Even though I just had pizza I could tell it was made with fresh ingredients and no just warmed in an oven. One of the best pizzas I’ve had and I really like pizza. Even the gelato tasted homemade. We also got complimentary champagne which was very good. Our waitress was awesome, very personable, and attentive. The ambiance was great, the lights were dim just enough. We will return for brunch next time!

First time here. Food was delicious. I ordered ravioli with scallops added. The meal was tasty and cooked well. Also had the fig and ricotta starter. Our server Misty was knowledgeable and attentive.

I love our historic San Marco area. This area is close to downtown and has a unique charm you won’t find in other areas of Jax! Today I went to Taverna and had the most fav authentic pizza. They used a homemade fire roasted tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella. It really reminded me of the fresh pizza we had in Italy. They have a cute little outdoor area to sit and a modern vibe inside. We look forward to going back again to Try something new next time!

A reunion of friends in a party of 6. Never felt rushed and could enjoy our conversations. All dishes prepared were delicious. We all basically cleaned our plates. Not inexpensive, but a good time was had.

Saturday evening, beautiful weather, outside table with outstanding service. I loved that the staff worked together serving customers. We asked for a large salad with extra plates so we could split however much to our surprise it was already split when served. The meal was delicious and this is a must visit restaurant in Jacksonville.

My husband and I stopped in for an impromptu dinner and were able to get a table without a reservation. The service was prompt and friendly, I always enjoy it when the server offers recommendations for their favorite dishes. We started with cocktails, Happy Hour is 4-7pm with quite a few options for drinks and small bites, although not a wide selection of beer for my husband. We tried the duck breast which was on special and the house made ravioli with shrimp, lemon panna cotta for dessert. The entrees were certainly delicious, but my husband and I both agreed they didn’t blow us away on flavor. This was our first time sitting inside, we had been before but sat on the patio, and thought the noise level in the dining room was a bit loud. If you’re looking for a spot to have a quiet, intimate dinner, this probably isn’t it, but overall, great experience and we will go back.

Hands down the food was delicious and full of flavor. A little pricey but you pay for quality and great customer service. Overall a great experience.

What a lovely restaurant! Decided on Taverna for my birthday dinner. Ended up being a great choice! My dinner was fantastic, as was my husband’s. But the highlight for me was the espresso martini! It was hands-down the best one I’ve ever had and I’ve had a few! From start to finish it was a great dinner experience. Our server was lovely. Taverna is in a great spot, right in San Marco.
