Seemed more like an old hospital room than a hotel. Bulletin board on the wall. Ubiquitous recliner that you find in hospital rooms. Sketchy characters in the parking lot everywhere. Glad to see security walking around though. Definitely don't think you'll be on "Sonesta" level. Told, "no public morning coffee, cuz the machine is broken." Coffeemaker in room, yeah...no thanks. No public ice machines. Told, "turn on the freezer machine in your room." After an hour we had 5 cubes. Seriously? Went to buy a bag of ice. Don't recommend.

Stopped here because I was so drunk and wanted to do the right thing and not drive. Unfortunately, this location was closed for repairs. It was not safe for me to drive and I didn’t want to stay at any of the other places in the area so I decided to sleep it off in my car. Five minutes later two security guards approached me and I explained the situation, one advised me to be safe and sleep it off, the other was quiet. Not sure how much later it was but I was awakened by JSO with a new security guard standing by the one who kept quiet earlier. I explained the situation to the officer and he told me to drive off. Upon trying to do so my car would not start. I had to walk in a high crime area (the officer admitted) at 2-3am because the property manager believed I posed a threat sleeping in my car. I was promised I would be able to get a tow and handle my car in the morning but I had to leave immediately. Having no other choice I left on foot. Visibly upset I made it to the La Quinta and decided I would tough it out there until morning and handle my car then. Unfortunately, they were sold out. Literally sitting on the curb calling a tow truck and Uber at around 3am I see a tow truck come by. The property owner called to have my car impounded after promising me it would be okay to leave it there until morning. Kris at Adkison Towing was amazing!! He allowed me to pay the tow not have my car impounded and gave me a ride home because he saw I was in a vulnerable position. However, the security guard or property manager was not happy about the arrangement. The security guard on site not only begins to yell at me and invade my personal space while the quiet one wrote my VIN number. He also approaches me in a aggressive manner and threatens to cuff me. Kris literally had to push the security guard away from me to get him out of my space. The security officer’s behavior was so aggressive towards me Kris was having a difficult time doing his job. Kris’ supervisor heard the commotion and tells him immediately to let me sit in the tow truck so the security guard could not attack me any further. I was not only put in danger for trying to be responsible but then I was attacked by Sonesta staff on their property (in front of a witness thank God). The security guard was over zealously following orders but the property manager/owner is to blame here too. You will not be safe here upon reopening book somewhere else!! The officer admitted it was a high crime area but pull reports for yourself. However, if the staff is this crazy imagine that security guard busts in your room with his all access keys because you look suspicious. Please see pics of the security guards attached.

Stayed there for 2.5 months and had a very pleasant stay. The staff was very nice and accommodating and the rooms were clean and constantly cleaned. The area in general is nice and cozy with a pool, a basketball court, and a barbecue for all to use. The gym was a but small and underequipped however.

If your room faces the freeway, bring ear plugs because you can hear it clearly. Our room had no sheets for the pull out couch and there was only one towel in the room; our room keys expired the next day even though our reservation was for multiple days. Also Parking is very limited. I gave it 2 stars simply because the front desk attendant and security person were extremely nice and helpful.

Okay let me start off with the fact that the staff here are so nice. I think they are trying to keep this place out of the toilet despite corporate. The location kind of sucks since there an almost abandoned place 1/2 a block away that I'm pretty sure is a crack house/ homeless camp. The police are always around so I at least felt mostly safe for that. The rooms are a good size and have kitchens with a full size fridge and stove with oven and microwave. The staff tried to keep it working and mostly clean. This hotel needs a major overhaul and the staff needs a raise. I can't say about the breakfast because I either had to get to work to early or got up on my day off to late. The pool area looked decent and Theres a laundry room but it's small and says cards only but avaliable takes coins. I've stayed at other sonesta locations all over and this is not what they usually are.

The manager “Joy” was rude from day one, when we went to the office to address an issue with a housekeeper entering the room after knocking once (which wasn’t heard) and entering while I was getting undressed in the bathroom. Fortunately my spouse was walking up to the room at this time. They were delivering a mop after saying on the phone they didn’t have one and putting me on hold, while without communicating they would or may come by. I had to mop the floors multiple times to remove layers of dirt. This was an issue in multiple rooms. Water leaked out of the ceiling in the bathroom in one room and we had to leave. Another room was not fully cleaned (aside from the floor as that was an issue in every room), and there was old pizza in the oven and someone’s belongings under the bed. The woman/manager, “Joy”, was continually rude and doesn’t seem to believe in customer service. After staying there almost two weeks, we went to the office to pay an hour or so later than you are supposed to due to the battery dying in our vehicle, and after this she wanted us to leave. She was condescending at every interaction. I believe she is also prejudice.

Why was it poor…….Roaches………..! We have stayed here before and we had never seen this problem. Why would a company allow for this to even happen. I don’t know anyone that wants to dish out money to stay in this quality a room!!!!!!!!! Come on Sonesta, nobody wants a roach motel. Get your stuff right.

Very nice, clean, pet FRIENDLY!!! After spending almost $10,000, I was given no notice, accidentally noticed moving boxes in the front room at the first of the year is Christmas decorations were being taken down THAT is how I was given notice that they were CLOSING up the doors NEVER given notice, and have been made aware that employees had no well before Christmas time and were told NOT to tell the guests (us) until the doors were closed! Not only did that put my handicapped father and I OUT, but my (recently) handicapped Mother out with nowhere to go and THREE days notice!!! The list could go on and on, however, you take the good with the bed, as there are not many hotels that are handicapped accessible with your own entrance and exit door in the Jacksonville area that allows pets hence why we were there for so long and to be essentially put out with no notice, and then to be forced to leave personal items behind Because I was not given ample time to pack our things is disgusting and sad and the fact that the new regional manager of the GM and the local O had plenty of prior notice is disgusting to me!!!! There’s many more some units do you have roaches they only have to washer into dryer’s for 15 buildings company up to 20 people etc. I haven’t had contacted corporate don’t have not heard anything back. I’ll update WHEN I do IF I do. !!!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 1/2 months on a job really big and spacious rooms, has a full kitchen stove and oven. The only con is its in a kinda sketchy area however there is a JAX sheriff's precinct across the street. Great hotel other than that.

The place was kind of hoodish looking on the outside, but that is most places in Jacksonville. The interior was fine and clean. The shower was clean and hot water worked well. It was safe there, not much around though.

Stayed for the entirety of the summer. Diamond, the young lady at the front office was always very helpful and attentive. Always asking how my stay was, and providing me with everything I needed for my accommodations. Towels, garbage bags, room being cleaned, etc.

Best in years... probably ever Haven't had one issue, they were very prompt with coming to remove a wasp nest over my door. Even I called for towels and tissue they arrived so fast I got scared thinking I'm not expecting company or did or order food? Nope it was just excellent service at the door. I had totally forgotten to go get them. I highly recommend this location. And I don't leave reviews at all never🤗

Wonderful location....end of the road Diamond in the rough. I would never stay anywhere where I did not feel unsafe. The police station was directly across the street literally. I would definitely stay again and I stayed for over 5 months Never felt unsafe. AWESOME STAFF thanks for the stay. You guys are awesome

I’m upset that I have to give a 1 STAR. Let me tell you this, I had to be moved from one room to another due to BED BUGS in our first room. Our second room had GERMAN ROACHES. Staff was wonderful besides the “manager” that was upset with us for dealing with these issues. Her attitude and customer service is VERY poor. Makes me wonder why this company allows someone such as her to be the face of what could be a good hotel. I’m posting some pictures of the two rooms I stayed in. Due to all this and If you do your research of how bed bugs work I had to throw away some clothing and due to the German roaches $200 worth of food that was for our family was left behind because of all this. Over all it is just sad we had to deal with this and to be treated is such a way. Highly recommend taking your family someplace that cares. It’s just not here.

Horrible experience. No housekeeping, roaches and no hot breakfast. It's cold school style breakfast in a container. When trying to extend, they give you a hard time and claim there's no rooms available even though it says differently online. I would never stay again or recommend anyone here. For the price you're paying, you'll do better to go to one of the Hilton or Marriott chains.

I’m just giving 3 stars and that is because of the desk service employees and cleaning employees but that hotel need special attention into repairs, cleaning standards, common areas cleaning, like the elevator the #1 button being cracked (broken). I didn’t have an overall bad experience but they need to do better in cleaning up. My first room was having food crumbs on the floor and you can tell was not even mopped. The 2nd room was cleaner but the wall in the bathroom was having yellow dripping stains infront on the toilet not sure what it was and didn’t want to find out. Great location.

Ester part of the staff was excellent here. She was helpful and kind. Don’t shy away from staying here because of other hotels in the area. This hotel and grounds is very clean and safe. Staying here for the money is well worth it with the amenities they have.

This may be my new favorite place to stay. The room was very clean and spacious. The complex was quiet. The people were friendly. The only gripes are minor: breaks ended too early and the bed kept me too warm. I will certainly book again if staying in the area.

Room was spacious. Cleanish. Found a half smoked cigarette in the cabinet so it couldn’t have been checked that well. The bathroom was pretty low quality. No hot water in the shower but the sink had hot water. Booked due to the reviews on breakfast. I was handed a box with cereal, milk, and juice. Not really enough for an adult. Desk staff was rude, honestly.
