We went on a Wednesday evening at about 6:00. They were busy but there were enough climbing walls that there wasn’t much of a wait for any one climbing route. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We rented shoes, harnesses, and chalk bags for $8 and admission was $26.50 per person for a one-day pass. You can buy punch card passes (that do not include rentals) or they have several options for memberships ranging from $94 per month to $59 per month. In order to use the manual belay walls you must take their class ($39 for non-members or $25 for members) but anyone can use the auto belay or boulder walls. The other patrons were friendly and everyone was very supportive. The staff in the climbing gym however was not very helpful and even seemed a little annoyed when I approached them to ask questions. There is also a traditional gym that is available for members that includes weights and cardio equipment. They offer classes including yoga, climbing for various abilities, fitness and HIIT, and youth programs. Birthday parties are available for a reasonable price ($250 for 10 participants including rentals). Overall it was a good experience and I plan to return. It’s a great option for fitness if you don’t want to go to a traditional gym.

Ooh boy, I had such a good time here. I didn’t do any climbing myself, but my daughter had a blast and when she has a good time, I have a good time. It really is nice that you can have the option to move from one wall to another without needing another person. And that there were so many available skill levels on each section. Doing things like this really boosts my daughters self confidence and fosters an interest in physical activities and the outdoors. I can’t wait to come back again and again.

The little one really enjoys the climbing and challenges herself to run it faster on the different climbs. Service is great even when its busy on the weekend.

This gym is okay, the staff are usually very nice, but its overpriced for what it is, and they take advantage of you knowing that they’re the only show in town. For example: They frequently shut down for a week to set up for climbing competitions (that you still have to pay $50 on top of your membership to enter) and dont refund you for that lost week that you paid for. Not to mention that anytime one of these happens, they’ll wait two months to start setting new routes again, so if you’re going more than once a week you’ll be stuck climbing the same things over and over again. The price is also incredibly inflated. Google Stone Summit in Atlanta, its one of the biggest climbing gyms in the world, dwarfing the edge, AND is located in a much bigger city, yet the yearly membership is $80 CHEAPER than the Edge’s. Wild. If you simply must go climbing, its pretty much your only option in town (and they know that), unless you live by the beaches. But there’s enough other things to do in Jax that I won’t be renewing my membership.

Not a big fan! Small, down-to-earth place. My friends in Jax love the community, which is great if that’s what you’re looking for. For visiting climbers? Not so much. It has good options for its size but no grades and they’re all comp-style without much variation. Staff nice enough, but wanted me to rent a harness because mine didn’t have a tag…proving it was under 5 years old… If you aren’t a regular, you’ll have 5 sets of eyes on you at all times. Which can make you feel safe! <3 Or if you’re an experienced climber, after a few condescending and unnecessary notes it might make you feel frustrated and want to leave! I love local gyms and try to have a lot of grace but I’ll take the drive to Stone Climbing in St. Aug every time.

I have recently had a rock climbing kick, it’s amazing. This place is great and so is the staff. It’s a great way to work out and it makes it fun too. Every time I get home from the edge rock climbing gym and take a nap because I’m so exact exhausted. I love these people and I will be coming back as I bought the monthly membership. I’ve been here at least five times. It is a great and I can’t wait to come back.

If you visit Jacksonville this is a must to do, the attention in increĂble. They teach you all the necessary to climb indoors and the merch is really cute. Plus is an activity for people of all ages.

Just moved to Jax and joined the edge because I wanted to do some working out and climbing. The bouldering area is pretty small but there are some good auto belays… don’t expect to spend more than 30 minutes projecting around. I wish they had a college/young adult/womens night every week/month where you could meet some people to top rope with. I enjoy the gym area and while there are plenty of plates & dumbbells there is not much variety with the machines. I really wish there was a lat pull down/sitting row pulley to do a few more moves. Lastly, as I was wondering before joining & didn’t see anything on here, there are locker rooms with shower areas but there is no good place to change. Also I have a big problem with the frequent occurrence of boys coming in with their parents/counselors etc… I often shower/change here after work and it can be quite uncomfortable. This is my one issue that I have had coming and would love if better restrictions were in place about this! Or at least put a better door/divider between the two areas.

I had a blast at this place. This was my first time ever climbing, so the heights kind of threw me off a bit. However, after spending a few minutes watching people climb I decided it to give it a go and I was able to climb to the top of the wall. After a few climbs I tried bouldering, which is quite challenging. I will say that this type of activity is a workout. You should expect to sore afterwards.

My friends and i decided to go a couple of times. This is definitely a great place to go an disconnect. Little bit pricey though. If is your first time and you want to have the whole experience just keep in mind you will need to rent all the quipment which is about ~30 dollars.

We've visited a lot of climbing gyms, and comparatively, this is a very small gym with limited options for kids. Kids can climb 8-10ish auto belay routes, or higher rated top rope walls. 12 and under are not allowed on the bouldering walls. We wouldn't spend the money again.

Employees were very helpful, rental equipment worked great, climbing holds were stable, bathrooms were very accessible. The only thing I would complain about is how clean it is… the air was very dry and dusty causing excessive thirst and I could feel the chalk in my throat because the air was full of it, also the bathrooms weren’t the cleanest I’ve ever seen but everything works fine so I don’t mind. I would recommend this place for maybe a bit more experienced or knowledgeable climbers because the ranking starts at 5.6 for the easiest climb with a harness. Also, I wouldn’t come here if you have bad allergies because it is so dusty. Otherwise it’s a great gym and I will definitely come back!

There are a lot of people, many children, and there are restrictions on single-day access in small venues

I have been to this location about 4 times, each time I did only rock climbing. Very fun, obviously wish it was bigger but they change the patterns on the walls. So each time, a new adventure. The water fountain, however, taste horrible. As a place that people tend to sweat and need to rehydrate. It would be very beneficial.

A real gem in the Jacksonville area. Any climbers dream gym. It may not compare to the mega gyms of Europe / West Coast, but we’re lucky to have it and it’s easily the best gym in Florida.

Positive review from my 3rd grader: "I had a great time and I hope to visit again soon funny thing I had so much fun that at the end my hands were aking and I was sweating so I recommend to go there because it was a good one to rock climb" I had fun, too!

What a great workout! When you arrive you get a funny instructional video to watch. The staff gives you harnesses to use while you climb. They have a bouldering area that is around 10ft high and you don’t use a harness, they have an automatic harnessing area that you hook onto that you self-repel on the way down, and they have an area that requires a partner to counter balance you on the way down. You get unlimited time but we only made it an hour before our forearms felt like they were going to fall off. The routes are color coordinated for level of difficulty. If you’ve ever wanted to try out rock climbing, this is a safe and fun environment to give it a shot!

Really disappointed with how petty this business is. Update: the response from this business has nothing to do with my experience here, I have no children. I will be canceling my membership. This place is tiny, routes are easy and overall not fun. The new walls that they painted have really made it look fake, smooth and industrial.

Definitely my favorite place in Jacksonville. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and the routes are really cool. Definitely a climbing style I'm not used to but very fun. Great for beginners and avid climbers alike !! Has top rope, lead, auto-belay, and bouldering. Auto belays are better for beginners but the holds are very used so be careful because it's slippery.

I took my Scouts BSA troop there yesterday. We had a great time. The price was reasonable. I highly recommend the extra fee for shoe rental. Using climbing shoe make a huge difference. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. There were a variety of routes for different skill levels. The equipment was well cared for. I highly recommend The Edge for a party, or just a fun afternoon.

Staff was friendly and helpful to our family, just enough options for us to climb though I’ve seen bigger climb gyms in the past. Definitely helped grow a love of climbing in my kids!

I got a membership here and I love it. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are clean. I haven’t used the traditional gym much but the rock climbing gym is a great workout. They have a yoga class and belay and lead certification courses. The least busy times to go are during the weekdays before school gets out and most Sunday nights a couple hours before closing. My only complaint would be that the auto belays aren’t changed out enough.

This place is just amazing! I wish I lived closer so I could go everyday! The staff is always so friendly and helpful! Their gym has nice equipment to warm up on for the climb and they offer yoga/acroyoga classes (Dawn!!! She’s absolutely amazing and teaches on Sundays!) Couldn’t ask for a better place to go to ^_^ Highly recommend to climbers of all levels.

My wife and I have been climbing for years and have visited and/or been members of more than a dozen climbing gyms across the country over the years. The Edge is hands down the worst managed we have experienced. The routes are poorly designed and almost never updated. Many routes have no ratings at all for weeks on end, for reasons that are not clear. And the young staff is marginally knowledgeable and borderline surly, especially it seems when dealing with those of us with a few grey hairs. One especially snotty woman there told my wife she had to stop climbing because her 3-year old, top of the line harness was “out of date”, forcing us to rent one from them. We have stopped coming altogether - not worth the inevitable frustration.
