Beautiful scenery overlooking the water. The park could use a good cleaning from the squirrels getting into the trash. It would have been a 5 star but it doesn't necessarily everything is a 5 star. Other than that it is a nice place to visit and for kids to play. It is an ideal for kayaking and for boaters.

I love the park. Mandarin Park is one of my favorite places to go to reflect on my childhood memories of my life and my late brother's life. Updated: 07/28/2023 Still, the same feelings, of love for the park's solitude that is bestowed upon the individual who is looking for it or not. The landscape, water, smell, fresh air, and wildlife are all very soothing to an overactive mind.

This is such an great park. Iโ€™ve been going here for so many years. Thereโ€™s a little trail; where you can see some cats on the board deck near the playground is. Thereโ€™s also an walk way to see the water with an pretty view.

SKETCHY. The cats are adorable and the pier is beautiful! However, I don't feel comfortable taking the forest paths anymore like I used to... My friend and I were stalked by a middle-aged man through the park and had to ask an older gentleman to walk us to our car in broad daylight. The cats use the sand in the playground as a litter box. Absolutely disgusting.

Love this multipurpose park! There is so much to do here, from a great kids park, hiking trails safe and short enough to take even the kiddos on. Thereโ€™s a dock that leads to a beautiful view of the St. Johnโ€™s River, as well as a boat access to it. The bathroom area has educational information on the St. Johnโ€™s River, and plenty of table enclosures for all kinds of parties. This is a great treasure hidden in the beautiful Mandarin area.

My friend organized a picnic here here in Mandarin Park. The location she chose to set up our get together was like a private area that could probably accommodate at least twenty people! Nice! We had our own table and and an area to do kayak and sailing! I truly enjoyed my experience here!

Well kept park. Easy ramp for off loading and reloading a boat. Busy on the weekend (see photo). Different spots to sit and enjoy the view or read. Seating is typical hard bench; better if you bring your own portable seat/chair. Please use the trash cans throughout the park. The raccoons (see photo) and felines are active during the day. Probably best not to feed the raccoon (s) as it will ultimately lead to their being caught & caged only to be relocated. Police/Sheriff patrol vehicles cruise through the park often- from sunrise to the closing at 10PM (should you need assistance they should arrive quickly). Some of the pathways are a bit muddy after heavy rains and others have roots that are slick-be wary of running or walking fast in those spots off the main trails.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Mandarin Park playground, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Nestled in the woods, the playground benefits from a beautiful canopy of trees that provide ample shade, making it an ideal spot to escape the sun on hot summer days. The park is well-equipped with several park benches and shelters, complete with picnic tables and grills. This setup is perfect for families and friends looking to enjoy a picnic or have a barbecue while immersing themselves in the natural surroundings. The availability of these facilities adds a great level of convenience and comfort to the overall experience. In terms of amenities, Mandarin Park has thoughtfully provided a small parking lot near the 2-stall restrooms. Speaking of the restrooms, they were surprisingly clean and well-maintained, which is always a plus when visiting a public park. The presence of a drinking fountain and a wheelchair accessible ramp in the restroom area is a testament to the park's inclusivity and commitment to providing accessibility for all visitors. One of the highlights of Mandarin Park playground is its proximity to the water's edge. The picturesque scenery of boats and a small fishing pier adds a touch of serenity to the overall ambiance. Additionally, for those interested in water activities, the park offers a boardsafe kayak launch, which is a fantastic feature for water enthusiasts looking to explore the area. Overall, Mandarin Park playground is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational amenities. Whether you're looking to relax under the shade of trees, enjoy a picnic with loved ones, or engage in water activities, this park has something for everyone. I highly recommend visiting Mandarin Park playground if you're in search of a serene and enjoyable outdoor experience.

โค๏ธ I LOVE Mandarin Park, and I've been visiting frequently for the past 20 years or so. Am I the only one in Mandarin that thinks it's time for a facelift? I notice the subtle decline a little more each visit and we can't let that happen!! Let's fix the place up! Including the bathrooms AND that awesome exhibit about the surrounding area, its history, and its residents (feathered, furry, and otherwise).

This is well kept park. People are friendly, and it's never over crowded. Bathrooms are clean, and there's benches in the shade. You can even stroll out on the dock to view the water.

We really like Mandarin Park. It's peaceful and they offer a playground, a boat ramp and a dock for water watching/fishing. My kids love coming here.

Me and my daughter love this place. Close to the house and swings are in the shade. There's lots of shade throughout. Lately I've been noticing a homeless man out there using the trees as a punching bag, so that's kind of discerning but overall it has been a good experience.

Great playground and park. It's nice to walk the pier and there are several picnic tables. The tennis courts always seem busy in the mornings and the boat dock is well used.

Nice park and boat ramp. However, the walking trails are becoming overgrown and a number of trees have fallen which all but block your path. Overall, still a nice place to visit

Nice park on the water. There's some nice trails to walk, a nice playground, and a nice boat ramp with access to the St Johns River or the streams to the east.

We've enjoyed playing here several times now. The equipment is good and the people are friendly. My son feels comfortable with the other children and adults here. It is a lovely location of the forest on Julington Creek. I recommend this park to families with small children, people with non-motorized watercraft, and anyone that likes picnicking

Great park. Plenty of parking, functional bathrooms, playground, big field, picnic tables, big dock to walk out and see the water. We rented a space here for a birthday party and it was a great spot.

Lovely place for relaxing with the family. If you have a kayak, it has a very nice ramp specifically made for kayaks that also is tailored for people with disabilities. Overall a great little park. I would highly recommend it.

Mandarin Park is great for kids: there's a playground for small children and older kids, swingsets, picnic pavilions, and bathrooms. The playgrounds have plenty of slides and climbing implements that kids love. There is plenty of room for kids to run around, and a cool pier to walk along and enjoy the water, along with plenty of parking. This park is worth driving for- your kids will have a blast!

It's a nice shaded park with Alot of stuff for the kiddos. Last time we went they had some playground stuff that was dilapidated and in need of repairs, but was boarded off for safety! Still a nice playground.

This is a my kids favorite park. We also love the Walter jones park but this is a playground park that i can grab a coffee on my way and sit down and relax while they play. Very small but itโ€™s nicely shaded and the bathroom is clean and nice. Thereโ€™s also handicap bathroom and a ramp to get up to the restroom. My favorite park in mandarin.

Nice park in the woods with a little of everything. Plenty of shade, a nice playground, some good walking trails, and some areas near the water. Pavilions were nice for birthday parties and built in grills available.

Shaded playground! Oh, how I love trees in the summer. It has a little pier that overlooks a boat launch and marina. Also a manatee watching area, you can see them if lucky.

Nice park, great view of water..saw others fishing. Playground for kids. Family friendly. It'd be nice if the bench area/pavillion had fans attached. Restrooms could use AC. way too hot in there.

Is a great place to bring the family and enjoy the outdoors. Was able to let the children play on the playground and have lunch. Has some pickle ball courts/ tennis courts and near a boat launch. Lots of shade and was able yo catch a breeze coming off the river through the park.

Not the best place to fish but the pier/dock is a nice place to spot turtles even find the occasional friendly little crab and the playground is excellent! Not really ever crowded.

This park is beautiful. The scenery and views of the water are breathtaking. While at this park, the agriculture was very welcoming. We got to see a few birds, squirrel and turtles.

If you're going to walk (as I did), I'd pick another park. The playground is nice for the kids to play & there's a good amount of space for parents to sit & supervise. The dock is pretty long too to watch the boats too. The parking lot for trailers is pretty big too.
