Beautiful old tree. I traveled from CT just to visit this tree and definitely worth the trip out.

I liked that it was quiet- like a hidden gem- not too many tourists lining up for pix. You can probably take a picnic setup and enjoy a brunch there. There is shade from the tree and the branches spread out so artistically! Not sure if I was allowed to climb on it but there was limb that was just calling for me to lay and take a load off. Definitely check it out when you are there or passing through Jax.

When people think of the South and its trees, live oaks like this come to mind. Ancient, 200+ years on this earth, and the thing looks phenomenal. The name “Treaty” oak was a lie made up in order to protect it, so thanks to the chap who did that. There is a boardwalk underneath so as to not damage the roots, but the tree can only be appreciated up close and in person. The tree is older than General Lee and has branches that predate Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., which is fascinating to me. The park is free, just be respectful of the tree and the park which has several other old live oaks. Definitely worth a visit, located just off the interstate, cheers.

The Treaty Oak is an octopus-like Southern live oak in Jacksonville, Florida. The tree is estimated to be 250 years old and may be the single oldest living thing in Jacksonville, predating the founding of the city by Isaiah Hart during the 1820s. Such a beautiful tree!! So glad the city has protected it for so long. Totally worth checking it out while you’re in town.

It's a pretty little Park. Small indeed, but uniquely placed in a concrete jungle. We visited this park early Sunday morning on a cool day. It was clean, beautiful, and wonderful step away from the busy city life although it's placed in the middle the city.

What a wonderful old tree....250 years!!! This tree is a must see....so fantastic. It's too bad the park itself doesn't match the majesty of it's namesake. I would love to see the city do more to promote, preserve and expand this park.

This was a pretty cool tree, I made a pit stop coming back home from Daytona. It was not out of my way. I had a hard time locating a place to park. I would recommend stopping at this park to see this unique tree! It was not a busy place. They do have a porta-potty if you need to use the restroom. There are 2 signs about the park & tree. While I was there two other couples popped up to get their pictures with the Treaty in the background.

Incredible tree! Wow. The park area around it is nonexistent. Three benches, two explanation signs, and a wooden walkway, that's it. It would be nice to have some picnic tables at least.

If your mind's eyes conjures pictures of slides, swings and monkey bars when you hear the word park, this park will not give you that BUT it will give you something pretty spectacular. The most grand and intricate oak tree! When you get to the park there are beautiful, wide open yards and to the rear are branch after twisted branch of the most magnificent tree. It's the perfect backdrop for pictures. Kiddos will love climbing over and under and discovering what's around all of the twists and turns of the limbs. Admittedly this park doesn't boast a plethora of amenities but if you bring a picnic basket, a blanket and some time to sit and relax, you won't regret the visit.

🌳 The Oak is HUGE! Definitely a worth the trip to see it. The park itself is a bit small and lacking seating. It’s more of a walk-through park then a destination in itself.

This tree is simply majestic. The tree is located in Jessie Ball duPont Park, a 7-acre park on the south side of the St. Johns River in downtown Jacksonville. Beautifully formed craggy limbs that invite you to climb, even if you can’t. It’s supposed to be the site of Native Americans and the Spanish. Probably another broken promise.🙄 Visit this tree!
