The best old vegan / vegetarian hotel in Jamshedpur where you can get South Indian food at an affordable price. Here you can get varieties dosa such as plain dosa, masala dosa, butter masala dosa, cheese dosa, etc.. idli sambar, upma, button idli, rava idli, vada, aloo bonda etc. Apart from this you can also get beverages such as coke, amul butter milk, amul lassi and water..... quality of food served here is too good.

This more than 70 year old restaurant having a wonderful and satisfying menu at an economic price ,never disappoints you when it comes to preparation and service. Situated right in the heart of the city in Bishtupur, it has ample parking space also. Apart from south Indian food it offers North Indian food and snacks also. Visit it for breakfast on Sundays with family, you would definitely love and cherish this experience.

Simply awesome!!! Located in Bistupur area, you can easily access The Madrasi Hotel. I think this hotel was started even before India's Independence and has been serving lip-smacking dishes from the southern part of India ever since. Points to Note: 1 - They have a large seating area and I think they can accomodate 40+ people at a time. 2 - There's parking area outside the restaurant; however that's chargeable. 3 - There's both dine-in and takeaway option available. 4 - Food is simply scrumptious 😋 5 - Don't forget to try the filter coffee. The best you can get in Jamshedpur.

There is no other better place than this for authentic south indian cuisine. I can vouch for that. One of the oldest restaurants of Jamshedpur with a menu so big that you'll run out of options to choose but they still would have some left. I had vada, mini idli and cheese onion dosa. And every dish was top notch! Great service. Great flavours. Amazing ambience. Plenty of space to sit. A must visit!

Loved the taste of dosas.. But you may find rush and have to wait a lil bit. Madrasi hotel is famous for their dosas. The dosas are so fulfilling and super crunchy. Chutney and piping hot sambar is also good and with good consistency.

This place is, I believe, the oldest South Indian restaurant in our city. They serve authentic dishes, awesome taste, quick service. They even have takeaway service. The sambhar tastes very nice. However they put extra soda in preparing the idli, leading to stressed stomach, so it's better avoided. When you go there, don't expect an upscale fancy restaurant, just the plain vanilla quick eating joint, AC is non existent. Very noisy from all the people collectively talking around you, which I love for such a place.

Tasty dosa, but cheese was at one place only in dosa due to which you can't get taste in each bite, so instruct them to spread cheese in entire dosa at the time of order, samabhar was tasteful and served several times, overall very satisfactory.

In the by-lanes of busy streets of Bistupur where a wholesome & healthy varieties of south-Indian breakfast is available. Cozy & hygenic, great ambience, comfortable as interiors are air-conditioned. Some of the unique & uncommon dishes are a must try like ghee-fried idly, mini idli etc. Good to hang out with family.

This place is probably the closest you can get to the Anand in terms of food taste. We visited the place with a large group and ordered different variations of the dosa. The food quality is good but I personally felt that their service could be better. When compared to other restaurants offering the same service, the time taken to get order was longer which otherwise hampers a decent experience. Also, while we were a large group the hotel staff were not willing to allot us an additional table, even after multiple request. Food wise, worth a shot. Service wise, it needs improvement.

Used to be one of the best places to have authentic south Indian dishes. Have lost some of its uniqueness over the years due to many options around now. Still the food is a great value for money .. and is delicious !!

Decent place. Great for the nostalgic folks coming back to Jamshedpur after many years. Had the masala dosa and coffee. The Dosa was nice and the coffee was excellent. Very happy and thankful to the management to keep this place going good.

  • 5/5 Akhileshwar v. 6 months ago on Google
The hotel was too good and fresh.. All the services are quick and fast. The staffs are supportive. We tried here for dosa...and found outstanding taste. The taste was outstanding and also one dosa is enough for our night meal. The service provider have put mask on there face and also wear hair cover. There were chargeable parking lot available just outside the hotel... Rather than this the thali was good and enough for a single person.

The taste has changed. The sambhar doesn't taste the same as previous year. I am disheartened.

  • 1/5 Rajeev R. 5 months ago on Google
Last time i rated it 2 , this time i am ratings it 1, even wanted to rate -2, because of it's worst service. It was a great place. I came back to Jamshedpur after 2 years, and planned a dinner along with family at Madrasi, and I was shocked with their staff rude behavior. My wife was fond of madrasi dosa but this time she was very disappointed.

The Madrasi Hotel is located on main road besid lane Bistupur main road Jamshedpur Ambience ⭐️⭐️ Nothing exceptional can be found; only tables are arranged to suit a larger number of people. Staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ Very busy staff; you give an order and they listen half-heartedly and run impatiently. Food ⭐️⭐️⭐️ It's a vegetarian restaurant with a broad variety of dosa options. Most people prefer to eat dosa, but when compared to true dosa from south India, the taste is different, as are the sambar and chutney. The Butter Dosa was dipped in butter and quite crispy and burned.Masala dosa masala tasted like regular potato stew that wasn't intended for dosa.Overall, you can have dosa merely for the sake of name. Onion dosa was recommended but do not try it only filled with onion which smells bad.

  • 3/5 piyali m. 1 year ago on Google
Once known for the best dosa in town.. it continues to serve the worst famous South Indian food but the service is pathetic. I mean they take the order as if it's the most annoying job in the world.. cleanliness is an issue too

Whenever we are in town. This restaurant was a must visit. But today, experienced that the restaurant is only for able bodied patrons. Today I visit with my father who is currently using a walker. He could not climb the 2 steps. So sat in the garden bench inside the compound. . The staff refused to serve my father. The 3 managers behaviour was very bad. I requested that it’s a bench which is just 1 step from the first table. How is it so much difficult to serve. As I am aware, all eateries should have provisions for differently abled people also. this is not acceptable behaviour. I could not recommend to people who have family members who have some physical condition

Authentic Madrasi (as the name is) food. Service is to the point, can be a bit more friendly. Ambience is old world charm but may not appeal youngsters. If delicious Madras cuisine is what you need then this is good.

One of the most happening restaurant for South Indian test in this city. situated at main street, bigger sitting space with parking available. Traditional test with service, selected menu but very very authentic, must try for Butter Masala Dosa. Service is also good. Only thing is cost, I personally feel it is very high, may be because I'm belongs to south India (the real Idly-Dosa zone), otherwise local people doesn't mind, priority hopping place for them.

The dosa was delicious! the sambar and chutney refills were very welcome. The service was great given and the waiter was very patient with us while we ordered and edited our orders. We went on a weekend evening and the place was bustling. Considering the rush, we didn't have to wait much. I would highly recommend the butter onion masala dosa.

The best place to have Dosas in Jamshedpur. For those wanting North Indian, fret not, for there is an array of options ranging from Thalis to Vegetarian preparations. The best thing being there is hardly any delay in service even at peak hours. The quality is never compromised. All this at dirt-cheap prices.

Established in the year 1935 it boasts of a great legacy in the South Indian delicacies served in the most authentic flavours being one of the oldest institutions and may be the oldest restaurant in Jamshedpur renovated and modernized with time keeping the dishes and their flavours intact. Foods served are affordable and pocket friendly with a chirpy atmosphere as the place invites footfall round the clock.Reviewed and acclaimed by various personalities including the local boy Imtiaz Ali(famous Director) the place assures of the world's best dosa served. Filter coffee is a must have and try.Be assured of good time and food with friends and family.
