Kathiawadi food was amazingly tasty. Tried olo-rotlo, sev-dungli and butter roti. Had great expectations with dal baati, although I've had it many times before, my recent experience was poor as the dal baati was tasteless. They probably forgot to add salt and chilly powder both! The place is very old and famous for tasty dhaba food flocked by people of all kinds.

Shiv Shakti Dhabha, Khoraj Review Hello everyone, fans of late night dinner and prom of DalBati, this restaurant doesn’t need an introduction. Visited this place after 13 years and still it keeps the charm. Only two things have changed. And that is not in this place , they both are mine. It was quite Saturday night and rainy atmosphere, keeping most people out of this place, but as I noticed, it offers maharaja style seats under the hood. But we still choose our traditional Khatla style. What did we order, well that’s a silly question to ask. Of course the signature dish Dal Bati, and remember the words two things have changed, yes, that’s in me I ordered Swaminarayan Dal bati. Keeping it charm out of the dish. But I will salute the bati. And will give the dal giving a miss. Yup, if you are a Jain eater, you may not like this place. Or order something else. Along with menu we ordered, churmo and Chass. Both came in time except chas had a plastic in it which was unfortunate landed in my glass. Overall timing among dishes was close to perfect keeping staff attention to detail keeping location and place in mind to its mark. No, pan nasal around or right at the door step keeping most diners unhappy.

Nearly the best place for Dal baati, ringan olo and sev tamata / Sev Dungri sabji. However I must say that lately the taste has not been the same. The service also is little slow. However, even after all this, it still remains one of the best seek after destination for kadyavadi and Rajasthani food.

I ordered daal baati, first there was a piece of aluminium foil and next in hardly 5 minutes there was a house fly ( makkhi) in my daal baati, n all they gave me was a few rupees off, but that's not it, the place was un clean, very unhygienic, and insects in food is a big no for this place.

This dhaba has been serving for more than twenty five years and has been one of the most liked place for desi style food with little modernization as well. The best part of such places is the sitting style on a cot which makes food more enjoyable

I choose this place from searching on google and seeing photos. All Photos are fake with respect to reality. I Ordered Dal-bati here. There is no test like dalbati. if you are going here for it then don't do it. What is most important is Dal in dalbati but here dal is like too much poor then average dal.

Very old and famous place to eat dalbati with churma. Original taste of daal. They also serve on traditional seating. We eat 2 dalbati for 5 people. All become happy with their service. Mostly people visit on Sunday. High rush. Please manage your timing for calm dinner.

I heard a lot of good words about this dhaba but the experience i had was totally opposite. Few things to improve or take care before you visit- 1. Food Quality ( Rotis/Bati which they prepare are not made of good quality flour/Atta. Its mostly Maida which caused food poisen in most of my family members after having dinner here) 2. Price - The prices doesn’t look like a dhaba, its same to other average restaurant. 😊For ex Dal tadka - 145 rs, Paneer Veg - 200 rs and Roti - 25 rs. 3. Washroom Hygine - If the prices are not less then they should work on maintaining good washroom and hand wash places at least. Smelling bad like street side washrooms.

Charge like 4 star establishment , the usual food , with much usual taste, same but more specified menus are available in rest of universe with good taste. The thing is they're always in hurry to serve more n more as what Ahmedabad does. Hence . 1 star. Avoid and pass

Just WOW! What a food delight. One of the finest Daal-Bati experiences. The mere thought of it is making my mouth water. The review is purely based on the taste of the food and not on the ambiance. They have a good parking facility, a small dhaba, an open area, and easy accommodation for 100 people I guess. Buy a mineral bottle lol.

As a vegetarian, finding a restaurant that offers authentic Punjabi food made with vegetarian ingredients can sometimes be a challenge. However, my search ended when I discovered this gem of a restaurant specializing in vegetarian Punjabi cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The menu at the restaurant showcased a range of vegetarian delights, each packed with the bold and robust flavors that Punjabi cuisine is renowned for. One of the standout dishes was the Dal Makhani, a creamy and velvety lentil curry that was perfectly seasoned and slow-cooked to perfection. The rich flavors of the spices and the melt-in-your-mouth texture of the lentils created a truly satisfying experience. Another highlight was the Paneer Tikka, marinated and grilled cubes of homemade cottage cheese that were bursting with smoky flavors. The paneer was incredibly tender, and the marinade infused it with a delightful combination of spices. Served alongside fresh mint chutney, it was a flavorful and satisfying appetizer. The restaurant also offered a variety of bread options, including fluffy and buttery naans and crispy yet soft tandoori rotis. These breads were the perfect accompaniment to the flavorful curries, allowing me to savor every bite. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive, and passionate about the cuisine they served. They provided excellent service, ensuring that every dish was prepared with care and presented beautifully. For anyone seeking vegetarian Punjabi food that is authentic, flavorful, and satisfying, I highly recommend this restaurant. The attention to detail, the bold flavors, and the warm hospitality create an experience that is

It was a nice experience there. It feels like dhaba indeed because of sitting arrangement. Food is good. Service was also good. Current climate in November month is perfect to have dinner in open place like this. They do not accept card payment. Cash and UPI mode are acceptable.

Very good kathiyawadi food and rajasthani food options. Seating 💺 arrangement is really nice 👌. Food is tasty and delicious. Served hot. Ample car parking, washrooms are not cleaned and no proper hygiene maintained. There is some renovation is underway seating capacity is limited for the time being.

There is no taste according to price. Service is worst of all kathiyawadi places in the city. Low quality cuisine. Nothing to say! If you want to save money and have good quality. This is not your place. Only honest review no harsh feelings ☺️

  • 3/5 Ankur R. 4 months ago on Google
Food was good but quantity is not sufficient. The prices too much high, specially for small items like buttermilk, gol, etc. Overall not value for money. Prices should be reasonable compare to food, service and atmosphere.

  • 3/5 Viral S. 1 year ago on Google
It's not upto the mark that it was. For kathiyawadi sabji is also ok ok. Vagharelo Rotlo is nice. Over all it is good for one time only.

I can give them minus rating but option is not there. even lasan ni chatni was not spicy. dal bati worst.whole sugar was there in churma. rajvadi khichdi worst.

Amazing Food. Very tasty and homely. Best place to visit in winters and pleasant weather. It is usually very crowded on weekends you might have to wait for half an hour to 40inites for you turn.

This is from few of the most oldest Dhaba which is very famous for Dal Bati. In Ahmedabad only 3-4 good restaurants available who are serving Dal Bati like Shiv Shakti. Still after 37 years of business they maintain quality and Dhaba style. Established in 1985. Staff is in hurry always but supportive. The Punjabi food and Desi kathiyawadi and Rajasthani food is also very delicious and tasty. Though it is bit far from Ahmedabad as it is after 200 feet ring road, but heavily crowded on Saturday and Sunday evening. Waiting area is in Garden. Go only if you are comfortable in Dinning under fan without AC. Practically for good food ke liye kuchh bhi karega.

Tasteless food. We ordered Dal bati here, assuming it to be very tasty as it's Rajsthan based restaurant. But it was just tasteless.... Even patients in hospital get better food than this. I would have given minus ratings if available.
