I missed the peak by about a week but nonetheless the waterfall is impressive and beautiful. I would highly recommend going to view the falls early morning to avoid the crowds. You will have access to the upper deck but will not have access to the elevator the goes down until 8:00am.

Spectacular waterfalls! Do pay for the elevator ride which brings you to the viewing deck. I went during the late morning and there were many tourists. There were two souvenir shops at the upper and lower viewing deck. Recommended to order a cup of hot milk for 300Yen. At the entrance, do look out for the sweetest grilled corn I’ve ever had. There was even a disclaimer that they don’t put sugar in their corn. Would go back for corn and also the soup oden.

Best to see around 1st to 2nd week of November. We went there last nov. 20 and most trees doesn’t have leaves already. But the view, food and ambience were still amazing. Make sure to wear thick clothes coz it’s cold.

Kegon Fall, one of the most famous and spectacular waterfalls in Japan. The waterfall is located in the Nikko National Park, surrounded by lush forests and breathtaking views. The Kegon Fall is approximately 97 meters (318 feet) tall and is fed by the beautiful Lake Chuzenji, which is located on the top of Mount Nantai.

Beautiful place and worth the visit. Remember to take the lift down (cost $5 per ticket only) to get a superb view of the waterfall.

Kegon Falls is the most famous of Nikko’s 48 waterfalls. Water from Lake Chuzenji falls 97 metres straight down to the rocks below creating a dynamic and artistic work of nature. A special lift takes visitors to the basin where the force and roar of the water can be witnessed close up! Impressive in any season, the waterfall looks particularly spectacular when surrounded by the fresh green leaves in May, house martins in June, or the “12 falls” – small streams of the frozen waterfall clad in blue ice – during January and February. Parking also available near the falls

The drive upto the falls is pretty. The nearby lake is beautiful But the waterfall itself and the viewing experience was underwhelming.

A MUST visit if you are in Nikko. This waterfall is by far the most spectacular waterfall I visited and the best in the area. Parking is available. To enter the falls, you’ll need to take a lift. It is really a breathtaking view. Really worth the visit. There are also some food stores and gift shops at the ground level too.

We went here during spring break. It will only cost you 300 yen to see and enjoy the beauty of Kegon Falls I was mesmerize by the view. Planning to come back on winter. ✨
