Meiji Jingu Gaien Ice Skating Rink

Tourist attraction Beach pavillion Ice skating rink

🫤 The rental skates are extremely poorly maintained. The edges of the first pair I got were so blunt that they were unusable. The next pair was useable, but barely. The rink itself is quite pricey and there isn't really room to practice as the inner part is reserved for kids who take lessons. People often mention skates, crowded, skating,

Fairly crowded and by late afternoon when I was there the Ice was in pretty bad shape. If you want hockey skates, bring your own, because the rentals (pictured) are pretty bad.

Good place for skating, can walk in easily. Just buy ticket on the machine, get in through the gate, and get the rental goods at the counter, then put your luggage in the coin locker if needed. Then good to go.

Great place to ice skate, toilets lockers are clean... Rental skates are bit warned out if you add abit more you can rent the hockey skates which has a better condition... There is a designated area in the center for figure skating...

Just be aware that over a quarter of the rink will be closed for private lessons making it a bit crowded specially for beginers

The ice quality leaves something to be desired, but it's alright. There is a big part in the middle of the ring and on the sides that are not accessible which makes the ring even smaller. This was during the weekday so it wasn't too busy but because of the guarded off sections it felt very crowded.

Decent place for ice skating, but the rink gets very uneven and scratched until the evening. Also, the time spent there seems unlimited for the rest of the working time. Some of the areas of the rink (a part of a side and its most middle) were used by hockey players and figure skaters respectively. Though nothing particulary dynamic, it was still annoying. Entrance fee ~1800 yen per person (less for children). There are lockers for 100 yen. Toilets are present as well.

The ice is really good and it'll get refreshed every now and then. The shoes are also nice. There's a heating room where you can warm your body, eat, and drink. There's a skating class for beginner every school holiday

There is a warm room to wait in, which is really nice. Lots of warm drink options on the vending machines. Rink is a little small, but ice seems to be well taken care of. Ice skate program for kids is very nice, but there is a long wait list.

Great service and clean. I can see the rental skates don’t look the best but if you have your own skates and don’t mind that it is quite crowded at times it’s a beautiful place to enjoy figure skating. Ice frequently prepared and in good condition. A lot of lessons going on but there is still enough space and teachers take care while most people are respectful. Also if you enjoy watching some really good skaters this is where some of the best train their jumps and spins.

Very crowded, but still had fun. Many kids were there. I could renter the building multiple times. I would make sure to bring gloves, or you will hav ego pay ¥300 for one. The shoe size was 0.5 smaller than normal.

Overall, it’s not bad. The first hour they’re open is the best, by the second hour it gets really crowded. Masks are super required, but it’s not super apparent - i spoke with three different staff members as I went in and got my skates. No one mentioned masks. I slated for 10 minutes until a fourth staff member came up to me told me to get off the ice if I didn’t have a mask. I told him I had one in my bag and I’d go get it and he was incredibly rude the entire time. Think, angsty teen with a poor attitude. I ended up cutting myself on the locker trying to get my mask out from the little door’s window because they won’t refund the 200 yen to open it fully, even though there were no indications of masks needed. Some of the staff are alright, some are just awful. Take that into consideration.

My daughter was looking forward to ice-skating unfortunately the hire iceskates were not good. She changed into 3 pairs and they all did not give her enough support to skate in. Bring your own if possible.

Whenever you can skate here is nice but quite expensive and lockers are paid too. You can't carry your bag with you while u are skating and you are not allowed to leave at bench. That forces you too use expensive paid locker.

Clean facility, decent prices including for rentals. If you want to get your skate on, this is the place.
