ひとり旅で一泊利用しました。 宿は手入れが行き届いていて清潔で快適でした。ドミトリールームに泊まるのは初めてでしたが、騒がしいこともなくぐっすり眠れました。シャワールームが2つ？と男女トイレが複数あります。部屋へは暗証番号で入るシステムになっていました。 夜は一階のバーを利用しましたが、多国籍老若男女様々な人がいました。子連れも多くて、子ども達はゲームをしたり、外のテラスで遊んだり。大人達も各々に過ごしていて、リラックスできる空間でした。 何よりスタッフが皆さん本当に暖かくてフランクです。外国出身のスタッフも皆さん流暢な日本語で対応してくださり、安心しました。 カラオケボックスがあるゲストハウスって見たことないんですが、最高に楽しかったです(笑) 女ひとり旅でしたが、行ってみて良かったです！良い時間をありがとうございました！また来ます。

I had a great time in Matoi Hostel & Bar. The staff is super friendly, the room very clean and the main lounge very cozy. And I experienced my first karaoke there! I highly recommend this place!

Walked in at night without a reservation during my bicycle trip. One of the best hostel I've visited so far. Friendly staffs made my stay perfect. Strongly recommended.

The best place to stay if you are a foreigner! International staff and guests. All bartenders are professional mixologist. Free drink tickets were available for anything, Jeff was really sweet to me with my limited taste for alcohol, made me a special drink with very little liquor taste! All staff are so kind and hospitable. Rooms are small compared to hotel rooms, private bathroom option was great for us. Very nice clean communal kitchen area. 4 minute walk to a grocery store Highly recommended!

Staff was extremely accomodating & very welcoming, and overall the vibes were great! They provide free drink tickets for the cafe/bar on the ground floor. Rooms & beds were great! And the communal room is spacious and has both a gas and induction range along with two sinks! And the laundry service is excellent.

This place is an awesome gem in Gunma. The delicious food and friendly, bilingual staff have kept me coming back, and I would highly recommend the hostel rooms to any travelers looking for a cheap and clean place to sleep.

I spent two nights at Matoi, and it was a lovely stay! The security system made me feel very safe—especially as a solo female traveler. The entire building is also very clean and organized with lots of communal space. But what really made the experience great was the owner and all the staff. The owner puts a lot of effort into getting to know her visitors, and everyone was super friendly and accommodating. I had a great time chatting at the bar, and the drinks were amazing (shoutout to Jeff). I normally don’t write reviews, but they truly deserve it. 100% recommend! (Just make sure to ask for their shuttle service if you don’t have a car; the hostel is a bit of a trek from the nearby station.)

Um lugar incrível pra se ficar em Takasaki! A localização é um pouco afastada mas a receptividade dos funcionários mais que compensa por isso! E eles oferecem carona pra estação de trem! O hostel é novo, e é também um bar e restaurante com várias bebidas e comidas (e um drink grátis por dia!). Mais do que recomendado!

Owned by Yoshid-San and her family; it truly defined what a home away from home should be. Even if you are not a hostel goer, I recommend you visit them when in gunma; and I can guarantee you that the beauty of the premises, the charm of its staff and the kindness of its proprietor will win you over. I recommend this place to any traveler; and To anyone staying in Gunma.

What a great hostel! The place is super clean and has everything a traveller could want. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Pierre runs a great kitchen and the food and drinks are well priced. The washing machines are industrial and do a great job of cleaning and drying. I think they have a 25kg limit ... The best washing machines I've seen in a hostel! If you're in the area and need good food, good accommodation and good company... This is the place to go.

Het hostel is super schoon en heel netjes, het bed is ook erg comfortabel! De stijl van het hostel is erg modern en strak. Bij aankomst krijg je een kaartje voor een gratis drankje aan de bar. Het personeel is ontzettend welkomend en vriendelijk! Qua locatie is het geen enkel punt als je met de auto bent, maar als je afhankelijk bent van het openbaar vervoer (zoals ik) plan dan zeker goed en maak gebruik van de shuttlebus van het hostel! (Dit is op afspraak)

ランチタイムに両親と子供を連れて行きました！新しい店内はオシャレで、ブランコ席などありワクワクする空間でしたー。メニューに迷ってたらスタッフが丁寧に説明してくれてたので安心できました。 サラダは3人でシェアしてちょうどいいサイズかな？子供の椅子もあるし、Nintendoのゲーム出来るコーナーもあるので子供も飽きることなく思ったよりゆったり出来ました。今度はバータイムに行ってみたいです！

The hostel is very stylish and clean. The dinner time at the bar was my highlight as they have the friendliest staffs I have ever met in a hostel. They have a family vibe to their staffs which makes me feel like I’m visiting a friend’s house. Jeff and Yoshida-san have told me many interesting things about Japan and Mana-san cooks really delicious food. The regulars there were really friendly too and I got to have fun chatting with them.

J'ai passé un super bon moment au Matoi Hostel Bar. Le lieu est très propre, très accueillant extrêmement bien organisé. Les lits et les chambres sont très confortables et les espaces communs sont très spacieux. Tout est sécurisé (mot de passe pour les différentes chambres et dortoir uniquement féminin). On a même pu bénéficier d'un accompagnement à la gare à l'aller et au retour gratuitement. ( sinon c'est environ 25 mn à pieds ce qui est aussi très correct). Et la nuit ne coûte vraiment pas cher, surtout en tant qu'étudiante (1700 yens la nuit). Les cocktails sont aussi délicieux 💕. Le seul point négatif est que je ne suis restée qu'une nuit. Cet hôtel met la barre très haute en terme de qualité/prix, et de qualité tout court. Difficile de retourner dans un hôtel moins bien après un tel luxe.

I started here for two nights and was very grateful with how nice all the staff at Matoi are. Special shout-out to Pierre who was great on the bar! Had some great stories and chat.
