I visited on a hot late day in August. The solemnity of standing in the middle of the history of unity struck me. I hope you can sleep peacefully there. The following is the full text written in the explanation next to the cenotaph. It has been modified to match today's orthography. "At the end of World War II, approximately 100,000 Koreans were living in Hiroshima as soldiers, civilians, draftees, mobilization students, and Japanese citizens. Due to the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945, 2 More than 10,000 Koreans lost their precious lives in an instant. The victims of the bombing did not receive proper memorial services and their souls were wandering around for a long time. On April 10, 1970, the Hiroshima Prefecture Headquarters of the Korean Residents' Association in Japan laid them to rest in peace, hoping that the tragedy of the atomic bomb would never be repeated. This monument was erected in a corner of Hiroshima, the land of peace. Not to mention comforting the spirits of those who died in an explosion in a foreign land while depicting the mountains and rivers of my hometown, I hope to bring attention to the reality of the Korean hibakusha victims who are still unrecognized and provide conscientious support as soon as possible. โ€œThe memorial service for Korean victims is held at this location every year on August 5th.โ€ Korean Youth Merchants Association in Japan and its members

The Korean Atomic Bomb Victims Cenotaph, located in Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park, is a touching tribute to the many Korean victims of the atomic bombings. During World War II, a significant number of Koreans were forcibly brought to Japan for labor, and thousands were in Hiroshima when the atomic bomb was dropped. This cenotaph, erected in 1970, commemorates those Korean victims who suffered the same tragic fate as the Japanese residents of the city. The monument's design features a traditional Korean burial mound shape, and it holds the names of the Korean victims. The presence of this cenotaph is a somber reminder of the wide-reaching impacts of war and the interconnectedness of human tragedies. Visiting this memorial deepens one's understanding of the broader context of suffering and the universal yearning for peace.

I stopped by at dusk and came back at night to drop off the water I brought from Korea. It hurts my heart to be in a place where there is no light and I have to rely on the bathroom light... Still, there are many people who come to visit.

Visited on October 10, 2023. This is a memorial to Korean atomic bomb victims located in a corner of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. For some reason, it was a space that gave me a solemn feeling and made me feel confused. Also, I felt grateful because the monument was well maintained and there seemed to be many people coming and going to visit me. War is a truly scary thing, and it is always the helpless common people like us who become the victims.

Compared to the cenotaph in Nagasaki, it feels like it is being managed. There are folded origami cranes in the park. If you are a Korean who has come to Hiroshima, I recommend you go there at least once.

I went there after seeing information on Google about the cenotaph. I found it on the right side next to the restroom on the park road from the Atomic Bomb Memorial to the Atomic Bomb Dome. I saw that many people had left water behind, so I left one too. I highly recommend you visit if you come to Hiroshima.

There is no need to say anything. If you are Korean, just go and meditate. It seems like there are a lot of people thinking together with me. They buy bottled water in Korea and leave a lot of it behind.

This is a memorial tower for Korean victims of the Hiroshima atomic bomb. It's next to the bathroom. patience I think the Korean spelling is because of North Korea. It is said that he was very thirsty during the atomic bombing. This seems to mean that the caps of many water bottles are all open.

I went to Google Map to find it. My heart became solemn. There are no separate signposts in Peace Park. I left a water bottle because I heard that many of the survivors of the atomic bomb died without being able to take a sip of water, which they so desperately wanted, due to the intense heat.
