Stayed one night for the in-room afternoon tea and the gourmet breakfast. The check-in with a warm cup of tea and macaron was nice. The hotel room was cute, decorated with Fauchon pink and the gourmet bar. The in-room afternoon tea was definitely lovely. All tea foods were both scrumptious and artfully plated, and complemented tea nicely! We definitely recommend Une nuit à Kyoto, their special edition green tea especially blended for the hotel! But the breakfast was bit of disappointment. Both my mother and I liked our egg dishes (we ordered porches eggs and an omelet), but the service was dry and all business. There was no explanation of each dish to us while another server was meticulously explaining each dish to a couple on the table next to us. They also forgot to serve us a plate of bacon and cured salmon. Since this was a stay to treat my mother after a long seclusion due to the pandemic, it was sad that the stay ended such a way.

Stayed 3 nights at Fauchon Kyoto earlier this year, from the welcome tea and macarons while checking in we knew we were in for a treat. Service was exceptional throughout and we were met with smiles all the time. Beautiful room (quite feminine, the lady loves it) with a free flow in-room dessert bar filled with Fauchon's desserts (they refill it daily!). The daily breakfast included was a highlight on its own, using fine ingredients sourced from local farms nearby and served with beautiful plating, which is rare to see for hotel breakfasts. Did I mention excellent service again? As we checked out, a nice tote bag was provided also to takeaway all the remaining desserts and an additional voucher for MORE macarons from the boutique shop. So we enjoyed Fauchon desserts for 3 more days in Tokyo😆. Overall exceptional value considering we booked at a special rate too. A lovely experience that will always be remembered and talked about.

A destination hotel like a jewel box; If your next destination would be Kyoto, Fauchon l’Hôtel Kyoto should be your favorite place to stay or visit. Paris and Kyoto are sister cities, and this hotel harmonizes aesthetic senses of Paris with Kyoto; chic, elegant and modern Art Deco style beautifully blend with Japanese classic art such as Nishijin-Ori silk fabrics, Kumiko craftwork, Japanese lacquer work and so on. Our room had magnificent views of Kamo river and Higashiyama as well as the top floor restaurant. The room has been finished with attention to detail, beautifully colored in gold, black, white and pink; not only stylish and elegant, but also very comfortable and practical. There are a big TV with multiple overseas satellite broadcasting channels, free wifi, bedside speaker with Bluetooth and especially, we were fascinated by the “Gourmet Bar” that makes your childhood’s dreams come true, lots of sweets and teas were offered in your own room! Fauchon is very famous for its Pâtisserie and desserts where produces many star chefs in France, and also celebrated in a gourmet hotel. So we were looking forward to dining here. At the top floor, the restaurant with amazing river and mountain views where we enjoyed dinner and breakfast offers authentic French cuisine with a touch of Japanese fresh vegetables “Kyoyasai”; Everything was delicious more than expected! The Fauchon l’Hôtel Kyoto is definitely one of a destination hotel for us!

The hotel concept is very cute and fashionable. The room decorations were beautiful. There are Fauchon's original sweets inside each room for guests to try. The staffs are really nice and they speak good English as well. Perfect for a short trip with your friends or partner.

I loved everything about this hotel. First I thought if it wasn’t a bit odd to stay in a French Fauchon -brand hotel in the heart of Japan, Kyoto. But this time I was traveling alone and just wanted to enjoy some guaranteed luxury. I really chose well! Fauchon hotel exceeded my expectations. Interior design in the hotel is exquisite. The staff is so very attentive and friendly. Location is just perfect, bus stops just in front and there is an easy way to one of the Kyoto train stations on the other side of the river. I took the train to Fushimi-Inari from there. It may sound funny but my three times jogging along the Kamogawa riverside were among the highlights of the holiday. The hotel gym was very functional, too. There were so many nice details in the room, the famous sweets bar of course and the coffee and tea machines, but also the huge TV with French and English channels, beautiful bathroom, soft bathrobe and slippers, even a face mask provided each day, extra-efficient Dyson hairdryer, Simplehuman magnifying mirror, and last but not least, the really comfortable, huge bed with lovely bedsheets. The soundproofing was perhaps the best of all hotels I have been to. For me it is not easy to sleep well, in this hotel I managed to do so. The breakfast was delicious! I was so excited about the salad with fresh herbs and flowers and commented to the staff. As a result I was given prettier and prettier salads every morning. Amazing hospitality!

All in all, FAUCHON L’Hotel Kyoto is a super great value hotel. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is delicious and the tableware is exquisite. Treats in gourmet bar are rich and tasty. Would stay again definitely.

A bit over priced, decors are fancy and modern but not very practical or comfy. Service generally nice but sometimes it feels like they are a bit overwhelmed. No view from bedroom

Just went in blind and did not regret the decision. We had whiskey at the bar paired with one of the best macarons I've had in a while. We even ordered to-go. Also, I recommend the butter cookies!

I just used the restaurant and the bar. The food and drinks were really wonderful, and the chef prepared special food for my digesting problems. I can't thank you enough. But just one thing, when we were about to leave the restaurant after payment, one of the staff members asked us, "Did you finish the payment?" I think this question is a bit rude to those who have already finished checking. That was a disappointing point, but other things were perfect. Thank you so much.

Our first time in Kyoto was memorable with a stay at Fauchon. Located slightly away from the busy shopping area, it is within 10-15 minutes walking to many attractions, restaurants, and even the subway. Staffs were professional, very friendly full of hospitality. They had an amazing bar on the 10th floor great for seeing the sunset. Room has modern and very chic decor. All appliances were of top quality.

The constantly went over and above to help us throughout our stay. The rooms were a step above the standard stay and were reasonably priced. We will stay again. Thank you.
