Nach einer 42 km Fahrradtour war es ein weiteres Highlight in diesem Hotel zu übernachten (alles sehr sauber, einfach aber toll eingerichtet). Wir hatten das Zimmer „Cottage“ gebucht mit einer tollen Aussicht auf die Bucht. Es gab keine grosse Auswahl an Abendessen oder Frühstück, die Speisen waren aber köstlich. Da wir noch über 30km vor uns hatten, haben wir uns dazu entschieden ein E-Bike zu nehmen. Die haben wir vom Hotel gemietet und wir waren sehr zufrieden. Das Personal ist zudem überaus freundlich und hilfsbereit.

We stayed here after cycling from Onomichi, and what a fantastic stay we had. Upon check in we were greeted with a complimentary iced tea and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Shower was hot with good pressure, and the supplied pyjamas were so comfy! We did the charcoal BBQ for dinner which was fabulous. After a long day of cycling I couldn’t think of anything better than to sit on our deck with a delicious BBQ and drinks. Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and spacious. Breakfast included a drink, warm croissant and a salad with a poached egg. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Ich hatte einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Hotel Wakka und kann es jedem Reisenden wärmstens empfehlen! Die Zimmer waren makellos sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet, sodass ich mich sofort wohlgefühlt habe. Die Lage des Hotels ist einfach fantastisch, auch für Nicht-Velofahrer wie mich. Die Umgebung ist malerisch und bietet eine atemberaubende Kulisse für entspannende Spaziergänge oder Wanderungen. Ich habe die Aussicht auf die umliegenden Berge und die frische Luft sehr genossen. Das Hotelpersonal war äußerst freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sie waren stets bemüht, meinen Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten und standen mir bei Fragen und Anliegen jederzeit hilfsbereit zur Seite. Das Frühstück und das Nachtessen war lecker. Es gab eine gute Auswahl an frischen Speisen (Grill oder zum Frühstück Früchte, frischer Salat, die den Tag perfekt starten ließen. Alles in allem war mein Aufenthalt im Hotel Wakka ein unvergessliches Erlebnis, und ich freue mich schon darauf, bald wiederzukommen. Wenn Sie eine entspannte Auszeit in einer wunderschönen Umgebung suchen, ist dieses Hotel die perfekte Wahl!

This place is AWESOME. The staff was super friendly and helpful, accommodating multiple requests. The front desk girl spoke very good English, and was one of the most friendly people we met on our trip. There is an Italian, who is practically fluent in English, and very helpful. The rooms were very clean and modern, with lots of amenities. The local scenery and views from the rooms are beautiful. I cannot say enough nice things about this place, and I don’t normally leave reviews. Fantastic room and accommodations.

If you're riding from Onomichi to Imabari on the Shimanami Kaido the Wakka sits about half way, great spot to stop and stay the night. We stayed in an ocean view cottage with a bathroom, great little space, with a deck and an impressive view! I emailed in advance for the bbq dinner which was top notch.

My party of eight cyclists stayed overnight at WAKKA and we had such a great time. Our ferry arrived on the island, WAKKA van was there to greet us and transport us and our luggage to the hotel. We had delicious lunches and excellent coffees, and then some of us took our Specialized e-bikes that we rented from WAKKA out for an afternoon spin while others went for an open water swim a few minutes walk away. Dinner was an outdoor grilling adventure; the sleeping accommodations were great; breakfast was great, and after riding the Shiminano trail to the southern end, WAKKA was there to pick up the bikes and helmets, and deliver us back out luggage. A perfect bike trip!

Excellent glamping site on the Shimanami Kaido. It is located about mid way between Imabari and Onomichi, so it is a great place to take a break. The Turbo ebikes rent by Wakka are one of the best ebikes, they also come with free road side assistance which was a plus when we are in a foreign country and don't speak Japanese. BBQ dinner was great too. We had a great time and would love to go back, highly recommended.

Incredible part of my Shimanami Kaido experience. I stayed in a tent and it was so comfortable and atmospheric. The food was fantastic. They also assisted me with returning my e-bike to Onomichi in a way that was incredibly easy and helpful. When I returned to Onomichi the next day the staff gave me a hand written note in English laying out my busses, transfers, and departure times! So above and beyond.

What a beautiful place to stay during your Shimanami Kaido experience. The staff here is very kind. The dinner experience was well worth it and in fact, one of our favorite meals so far on our trip. Shout out to Rika san and Colin san! The staff here also bailed us out when we needed a taxi to pick us up with our bikes in tow. They saved us from disaster and we cannot thank the staff at Wakka enough for helping us out. There’s also laundry facilities that were a huge help. Rent the Hyperice massager if you have time.

This is the best place for relaxation, it's exotic, the showers and lounge are perfect for staying and all the staff are very friendly and speak English. Barbecue diner, breakfast was perfectly delicious

A perfect half-way point to stop if you're cycling the Shimanami Kaido. There seems to be limited rooms available so we reserved 5-6 months in advance. My partner and I were greeted warmly and the rooms and amenities were perfect. We stayed in the Japanese-style cottage and the bedding felt like being tucked inside clouds. The BBQ dinner on the patio was delicious and the views were spectacular. Truly felt like a luxury experience after bicycling all day. We felt completely rested and ready to take on the rest of the route in the morning!

I visited the Setonaikai National Park (Japan) with my son by bicycles on 22-25 Nov 2023. The scenery of the park is amazing that has been complemented by the warm hospitality of "Wakka" greatly. The location of Wakka is about 2+km away from the Tatara Bridge 多々羅大橋 at Ōmishima Island 大三島 after passing Tatara Shimanami Park (道の駅 多々羅しまなみ公園) and FamilyMart (Tatara Ohashi Bridge ファミリーマート 多々羅大橋前店). Wakka provides well supports to bikers even they are just passing-by. E-bikes and other types of bikes are available to guests (with a fee I presumed). Bike taxi and bike boat services are available. I stayed at their western style room which has a beautiful sun-rise view with the Tatara Bridge at the background. BBQ dinner has been served at the semi-outdoor balcony of my western style room (for summer menu) during my 1st day of stay. I am also fortunately enough to have their seafood steam-boat dinner (for winter menu) during my 2nd day of stay at their cafe. The facilities of Wakka are comprehensive and their staff are one the the best team who I have encountered so far in the hospitality industry. I have no doubt to recommend Wakka to anyone in no time.

We did the Shimanami Kaido over two days and WAKKA was a great partner in our planning. Daisuke was super responsive in email interactions when planning, and he just made everything so much easier. They pick up our luggage and delivered our ebikes at one end of the trip, then dropped off our luggage and picked up the bike at the other end. The location is great, in the middle of the route and close to a few restaurants with some wonderful views. The rooms are modern and clean, and once we were there, Erkin took great care of us. He made us feel welcome, coordinated the shuttle for us to the nearby (tattoo-friendly!) onsen, and organized a dinner reservation. I really can't speak highly enough of this place that just made everything so much easier. It's perfect for people looking to bike the route and have a layover.

This is my second time staying in Wakka and I highly recommend it to all cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts! The facilities and accommodation are totally camping vibes whilst relaxing in style and comfort. The rooms are really clean with all the amenities you’ll need while being environmentally-friendly. I want to give special mention to Colin who was my boat captain on the fishing expedition. Colin patiently taught me Japanese fishing techniques which are very different from what I usually use in my country. I had an enjoyable time fishing in scenic Setouchi where the waters are calm. I look forward to going back to Wakka!

Wakka is an excellent accommodation choice if you are biking the Shimanami trail. Rooms are stylish and modern. We stayed in a bunkroom/dorm of 4 beds, but booked the entire room for ourselves. This meant shared bathroom facility, which was fine because the showers are flash! The deck area is perfect for relaxing in. A few extra food (dinner) options would be nice. But there is a supermarket and a few eating options within walking distance. Staff were lovely. I'd fallen off my bike enroute to Wakka, staff noticed this when we arrived and they kindly patched me up.

Wakka is the place you should stay over night or stop by for a lunch or light snack in-between your riding. This is a definitely wonderful place that offers you a magnificent view of Tatara Bridge. Food is delicious, and staff are friendly and hospitable. It was a delicious short break for me.
