Awesome waterfall that's worth a quick tour. Pinaisara means "old man beard" in Japanese, apparently. It's named as such because, from a distance, the falls look like the beard of an old man. I recommend hiking to the bottom of the falls to swim first before making the 20 minute hike to the top of the falls to take in the view.

The highest falls in Okinawa are well worth a visit. You can hike to the top in 50 minutes at an easy pace. The trek is narrow and steep in places but can be achieved by even none hikers. Alternatively you can hike to the base of the falls in an easy 20 minutes and swim there.

Wonderful trekking experience to the top and bottom of the waterfall. Joined a tour on Veltra which provides buy-one-get-one-free mangrove kayaking and mountain adventure full day tour (6 hours long). Awesome experience!

Getting up here isn't a cakewalk, but it is well worth it. For Japan, its oddly and uncharacteristically not safety obsessed, so just keep your wits about you. All that said, there's a remarkable diversity of nature to be enjoyed in the surrounding forest, and the waterfall is worthy of praise. Swimming in the pool at the base of the waterfall is refreshing, pure enjoyment. All in all, a life reaffirming experience.

Went in the off-season bit it was the weekend and luckily the island kayaking association staggers the groups. We were there before others and got to enjoy the rock pool by ourselves. Then other groups gradually came. It wasn't too crowded but it was the off-season. I imagine the downside being that this is super crowded in the season epsecislly at weekends. The trail up was not super easy but it was manageble if you took your time. It wasnt that long. I saw a few 60 year olds and a 10 year old doing it. I wouldn't say it was very strenuous overall but we were tired after returning to the hotel.

We did a day tour kayaking and then hiking to the bottom and top of the falls. The experience of the river and jungle hike were really memorable despite the amount of tourists. Fully recommended, including going to the top of the falls, the view of the jungle, the beach, and the ocean is unforgettable.

Nice waterfall. The hike up is not too difficult. The views are great as you can see other islands too. The weather needs to be better than I had though.

Great tour, very limited English but such a beautiful view from the top. The hike was very jungle-y and moderate difficulty.
