Close to the Rusutsu Ski resort, no problem parking just outside the cabin if you come by car and shuttle bus possibilities otherwise. We had a two room cabin and was three adults which wasn’t optimal if you would like some privacy since it was only one bedroom without door. But it worked! Very nice breakfast with a couple a warm dishes to choose from as ala carte. We had a very nice host in Hiro(?) that served breakfast with some small talk as add on. Overall I can recommend!

The comfortable log cabin houses up to 4 pax (2 single beds upstairs on a mezzanine and 2 single beds downstairs) with a large bathroom and toilet area. The duvets are fluffy and make the beds very cosy. Overall the cabin was clean and had all we needed (mini fridge, kettle, hair dryer and lots of towel hanging hooks, amongst other things). We tried their onsen, it was a good, rejuvenating experience. The hot water and peaceful environment did wonders to relax us and our aching muscles!

Beautiful wood cabins on the edge of Rusutsu town. The staff are super friendly, and the food in the restaurant is delicious, japanese hot pot

Rooms are dated but maintained, and clean. Staff is wonderful, and professional. Best meal we had in rusutsu was the shabu shabu they set up for us. Cabins were a 3 min drive to the drop off point for the lifts and other restaurants.

We came across villa rusutsu accidentally as it was the only remaining accomodation due to us booking last minute.... however im very glad we were disorganised! When we arrived the resort was hardly accessible as it was under 600mm of snow, by the time we had finished skiing and returned though... the maze had been cut and the place had been revealed. A very cozy place with luxurious high roof log cabins. They really have nailed Grand but cozy. The included breaky had heaps of options and was a highlight of our stay. What really made our trip however was the professionalism and courtesy of the staff who were working there. From the moment we arrived they made sure to accomodate for all our requests. This really took away all the stress that usually accompanies a ski trip! When we return next year... the main reason is not because of how nice the place is and the food. The main reason we will return is because of the staff!

This place has loads of potential, a great location and facilities. Firstly the villa itself was great; futon style bed, nice slightly mismatched lounge area with a good TV and nice bathroom. Only negatives would be some small native (?) beetles seemed to also enjoy the warmth, the automatic lights were annoying until turned off and the bins were not emptied for the duration of my stay (I'm sure had I asked they would have been done). Breakfast was really solid, filling and with several options. The staff there were excellent too, happy to tweak things to my liking. I'd love for the chef to be able to freshen up the menu more often and use even more local ingredients! The facilities were awesome too, the bathhouse I had to myself every night was hot and soothing not to mention beautiful. The main area (breakfast, reception, bar and lounge) is also really nice. Only thing I'd like would them to be more clear what happy hour entails. It may have been great but, there was no info so I went a yakitori bar near the resort instead. The manager Yoko was fantastic from the getgo but considering the western clientele I observed they should always keep at least one native English speaker on staff (the food and beverage staff Shona was during my stay and she was a huge asset to the resort). As another review mentioned they are a little tight with their 'free' shuttle service (free twice a day) and at times could be a little more accommodating. But with a few minor tweaks I could easily rate 4.5 or 5 stars.

Great breakfast and generously spaced cabin-style rooms, located a very short drive from the main Rusutsu resort. The staff is friendly and efficient and really make you feel at home. They also provide a shuttle service.

Absolutely lovely rooms and the included buffet breakfast was great! Staff is beyond sweet and will drive you around the area in the shuttle to get to the mountain or local restaurants throughout the day.

Stayed 4 nights here in a cosy villa with onsen, fire place, great breakfast included with decent variety. If I could give more than 5 stars for service I would. Everyone there was so helpful! I'd recommend this place to anyone coming to Rusutsu.

I had the great fortune to stay at Villa Rusutsu in January this year (2017), the accommodation was very nice. What made the stay amazing was the management of Gudrun and Jurgen Paul who looked after the rooms, the grounds and driving us to and from the snow everyday. They were incredible. Jurgen even took us to the ski hire place- advising us what were the best skis to use for our skill level, height, weight etc.and gave us lots of skiing advice. After our visit to the onsen and sauna, Gudrun booked meals for us at some of the local restaurants. My only complaint would be that the breakfast menu was too limited and the service was a bit slap dash, but I think someone else looked after that. My wife and I will certainly go back if only hear Jurgen yodelling again. Thank you Gudrun and Jurgen for a great holiday experience.

Staff are very nice and kind when we were here but rooms could have more lighting. The view wasn’t bad and is pretty good. Breakfast was a bit plain but still very good
