This island is part touristy and part exclusive. When you get off the boat, there is a popular beach on the right with a swimming area. I don't think snorkeling is great there. To the left of the port is a long clear water beach. There is a reef a couple minutes swim out. You should see scuba boats posted at the reef. It's where the water goes from clear to a dark blue. You can walk to the end of the beach which takes about 30 mins. Then the beach turns into a rocky path. You can walk an hour and make it all the way around the island. Another snorkeling spot is past the popular beach on the right. Walk past the beach for 10 mins and you should see a reef on the right. It's only a couple minutes swim out to the reef. A lot of sea life. I swam along the reef, swam in and walked back to my bag since the current was strong. Walked to the lighthouse which was pretty boring. The showers do get crowded in the afternoon. There are restaurants if you don't bring food. The boat ride is only 15-20 mins. I think this is a great day trip.

If you just want to get away from the main island and experience something a little different why not take a joy ride out to Minna Island. There are a few different companies that provide small tour packages out to the island. All of these leave from Motobu Port. You can sign up for various activities that include a lunch plan, jet ski, parasail, snorkel and dive trips. There is an amazing reef surrounding the island just full of Marine Life. I've seen the island many times on the way to Ieshima Island and always wondered what was out there. I'm glad I got to experience it. My only reason complaint is the fact that it was extremely overcrowded. The beach can quickly go from just your umbrella to the entire beach packed with umbrellas practically touching each other. Very little "personal space".

Was so lucky. Magic of sun light breezing thru transparent air & water. Never seen such deep blue ocean and sky. A must-go place for family tourists.

Cristal clear sea water, clean beach, and people from "umi no ie" were very nice. Lovely place to spend some time. Just be careful with the schedule of the boat. Shower was crouded and I was afraid that would miss the last boat, sp couldn't get to shower. Besides that, everything was fine.

Minna Island short ferry ride from Toguchi Port. Good snorkeling here. Bring water shoes as there is coral on some parts. Bring sunblock, shade and water to stay refreshed and not sunburned. There are beach rentals if not.

The swimming is fantastic. The beach is protected so there are no large waves. The snorkeling is also very good. There are lots of things to see and do but sadly overall it is quite expensive. Take plenty of water and sunscreen.Reef shoes are also very useful as there is a lot of coral in the sand.

Clear waters, unspoiled beaches and plenty of sealife. Perfect place to spend a relaxed day and just recharge your body.

👍 Don't follow Google Maps route there, you should go thru the Churaumi Aquarium (you don't need to enter the Aquarium to access the beach, but you cross just around it, as if you're gonna enter the Aquarium). There is a beach house with showers (free) and lockers (¥100), you can rent beach umbrellas...
