Great neighborhood bath house that is basic and affordable. There are a few selection of food choices as well. Remember to bring your own set of towels, shampoo and body wash plus some 10 yen coins. (Hair dryer is coin operated, 20 yen for every 3 mins)

I had my doubts because in the other natural springs I had been to - where the water is discolored and mineral-rich - the temperature was tepid. I should not have worried. There were three pools: hot, very hot and insanely hot, so hot that I had to count the seconds to stay in the water. There is no cold pool, a minor drawback, but you can take a cold shower. Plus it's a lovely space: spacious, high-ceilinged, light-filled. As others have noted, you need to bring your own towel, soap, shampoo, etc. or else you will be charged. Big parking lot, most people drive, but it's two blocks from the end of the #2 tram line. Easy. Definitely give this place a shot. You won't be sorry.

Overall: 5 Location: 4 Foods: 4 Drinks: - Atmosphere: 5 Service: 4 Cost Performance: 5 (430 JPY for entrance) Smoking: no Comments: Little bit hotter than the other Onsen place, but you can definitely enjoy a five-star shaped open-air bath. Highly recommended. If you don't have towels or soap/shampoos, you can rent/buy at the counter.

Cheap onsen but very good. Staff were very friendly and kind. Tattoos are not allowed. I was able to get in and bathe for a few minutes until a staff came to me kindly asking me to cover my tattoos with a towel. It was my mistake for not asking if tattoos were allowed or not. Felt very uncomfortable with all the old ladies staring at me like I'm an abomination. Best to look for other onsens where they allow tattoos if you have big ones.

Glad we came to this onsen. Very well maintain and clean place. The water temperature is warm enough. Ebi soba and salt ramen cost only 650 and 430 Yen.

My very first public onsen experience, and I thought it was good. The staff members are helpful. There are signs board around to tell you what to do for onsen. Not new facilities but you do experience what the local do which I think it is a plus. Both indoor and outdoor onsen are available.

The onsen is vey affordable price and easy assess by street car / city tram. Bring your own toiletries else paid a minimum price to get the need. Prepare to naked and enjoying the indoor/ outdoor pool ranging from 40c to 42c. The facility provide sauna also. Have a good lunch after the sauna. Recommended if you at hokodate.

Onsen price for one adult is 460¥. The interiors look a bit outdated, as if they need some maintenance, but everything functions properly. The water is light brown coloured (iron rich). There's plenty of pools, including sauna and one cold water pool. Outdoor pool is also nice. Overall, a great experience that I would repeat. I'd recommend going to this onsen during your stay in Hakodate. Additionally, they have a (very cheap!) restaurant in the same building, just at the ground floor, that serves local specialties (mainly soba and ramen). I had a huge portion of delicious soba for only 580¥. Staff was very kind and helpful. I brought my own towel and toiletries.
