Excellent taste with reasonable price. The set of I.5 piece gave me so much fulfillment! If you cannot have much steak, the set if one piece is enough. There was a long queue when we arrived, but it totally worth the time for waiting a amazing dinner. Extremely recommend!!

Ambience: Cozy and relatively quiet. Row of counter seats when you first enter, with 4-5 tables as you go further in. Price Point vs Quality & Quantity: Around 1900-3000+yen ranging from 1/1.5/2 serving of Gyukatsu. Comes in 3 different sets offering a variety of sides including cod roe, yam paste, alcohol etc. With that said, excellent price point. The quality of Gyukatsu given far exceeded expectations; and could potentially compare to what you'd usually get for paying a premium at 2-4x the price (as above). The meat was very soft and tender when it was served and can be seared (using the heated stone provided) to achieve crustier texture. Each set usually comes with a bowl of rice and some side dishes and overall it was filling - nothing generous but not shabby either. Space: More suited for a group of 4 or less, or slightly more if you're fine with counter seats. Service: Above average. Xtras: We went on a weekday (Monday) and at an off-peak timing (530pm) and there was a pair waiting before us. There was however a queue of 6-7 groups when we exited at 630pm. Since the restaurant is pretty small, be prepared to queue. Would also suggest to save this for the last stop as the ventilation is bad and you wouldn't want the smell to latch onto you for the rest of day. *Verdict: 4/5. Definitely lives up to its google rating and worth a revisit.

Our experience at Gyukatsu was excellent. We went at 14:30 on a Saturday and there was still a 15 minute waiting time (at least). If you’re a big eater, you would definitely have to go for the 2 cutlet portion (260g). Special shout-out to the wasabi dipping sauce as we ended up asking for additional sauce. Keep in mind, you’ll leave Gyukatsu smelling like you just went to get Korean bbq but not as bad. Some of the staff there are also fluent in English, which is a definitely a plus for tourists.

Went during tea time so had to queue about 30 mins but was totally worth it. Probably my favourite meal of this trip, the beef was tender and melts in your mouth. The experience was cool as you can cook at your own pace and portion was just nice (if you're a big eater you can add on meat). Just that you may come out of the place smelling a little.

Really tasty katsu! Very long waiting time due to popularity. Seems like people come here due to TikTok. Waiting time is around 1h for dinner. Food is really good. Enjoy every piece and grill it well. Was still worth waiting.

The food was delicious. You can grill your meat until you're satisfied yourself. If you would like to dine here, please go before 9 p.m.

Overall not bad but I just feel like it’s a little overrated. I’ve had better beef experiences - without the insane queue. Don’t get me wrong - it was good and probably value for money, but I personally don’t think it’s worth the excessive wait. Maybe go right when they are opening.

Not worth the money and time to wait. We were in line for 2 hours for the food. They only have one thing on the menu that you can pick. The restaurant breathed and felt comfortable in a small basement with a massive amount of smoke from the cooking. The food presentation was good, but the taste was not good as how it looked. The food was super greasy and soggy. The meat was soft, but it was hard to finish with that much oil in the food. The price was pretty high for the amount of food you get. We ordered 2 sets of food (small and medium) and one small Pepsi. It was 4900 Yen for that meal. I think we might be able to find better food at a better price in that area.
