A shinning beacon of American commercialism. A depressing place to shop if you are single, the serving size of most things are far too large for one or often even just two people. But the options of food they offer are often the only place you will ever find these things. Raspberry and blackberries, nectarines, fresh bagels. REAL cake with icing sans pointless fruit. Feta cheese, blue cheese. They even have something reminiscent of pimento cheese. Western sour dill pickles, not the sweet European style dill every other store in Japan carries. They don't have everything in stock all the time, which is frustrating at times, but the fact you can find so much practically no other store around carries, it's a complaint I'm willing to forgive.

There are some halal meats, but little bit expensive.

I come all the way here for the nut butter and the nut butter alone! Sure there are loads of other stuff to buy but they all come second to the nut butter! A must! Also big load of coconut oil is good too!

Still a new Costco, so it’s very crowded. I first went in on opening day to make a tire reservation and say hello to the Japan VP whom I’ve met a few times. There’s a ton of parking outside, but today—a Tuesday—it was packed for some reason. There were many people waiting for spots, and later there were lines out into the streets. I’m used to the layout of the Hisayama store, but Kumamoto’s is more like the newer ones in the U.S. Items are organized a bit differently, including having most (all?) cleaning, bathroom and kitchen cleaners, goods in one section (nice job). We went back in the early evening, and it was less crowded. Hot dogs and shared clam chowder for dinner, and a bucket of Mexican blueberries for breakfast for the next few days. Wife topped off her gas tank (have your Costco card and MasterCard ready—the process is very smooth. I got my tires changed by the professional and friendly staff. Great work! I’ll be visiting often. Thanks, Costco team! 🚗💨

The 1st four days were crazy, there were just too many people. But the customer service wasn't bad and it wasn't difficult to find what you needed even with the crowds so I would consider it a big hit. Also saw the manager on the floor working, and greeting people, I think that was pretty dope. There were several persons directing the flow of traffic so that was also commendable.

It's big, great service on wiping the trolley handle with sanitizer. Interesting imported products especially food for foreigners. I like to go more often for USA high quality imported beef.

Just open!still lots of people buying.I love there hotdog bun it's very cheap and the soda are refillable. For big family it's a place for shopping very affordable.
