During the autumn foliage season, it is a place where you can enjoy a very beautiful scenery with mainly yellow leaves. From the parking lot 🅿️, you can get there in about a minute from the promenade or the national highway. There is a parking space for several cars right in front of the waterfall. The main large waterfall can be viewed from above from the space to the left of the entrance, but it is difficult to see the entire waterfall due to the vegetation. From the other space to the right, you can see a multi-tiered waterfall flowing through magnificent nature, although it is a little far from the waterfall. It is especially recommended during the autumn leaves season! ️ This spot is a little-known spot that is relatively empty even during the fall foliage season, perhaps because it takes less than 5 minutes to visit. There are no restrooms at this location.

Visited in early November 2020. There is a free parking lot, but there are no toilets. It's like looking down on the waterfall from a hill just outside the parking lot. No climbing equipment is required, but the trail is not paved and the ground may be muddy.

This place is located just before Sakunami Onsen, heading towards Yamagata from Sendai. The best time to visit here is after winter is over and you are waiting for spring. In the winter, it is buried in snow and you cannot walk on it, and in the spring and summer, the trees are covered with leaves, making it difficult to see from the viewing platform. Around March, the visibility is good and you can see the waterfall clearly. This is the time of year when you can see an impressive sight due to the large amount of water from the melting snow. However, be careful as the area under your feet will get muddy and get dirty easily.

What a beautiful and scenic waterfalls! Homeishijuhachi Falls is a waterfall located in Aoba Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. It is located on National Highway No. 48, upstream of the Hirose River. -35 min drive from Sendai station. Nikka Whisky Sendai Factory Miyagikyo Distillery is situated about 1-2 kms from these falls. -Falls captivate viewers in all seasons with its mesmerizing beauty! -I fell in love with the melody waterfalls create! What a natural music... I can sit for hours listening and enjoying soothing melody, and meditate there. -With a head of 25 meters and a width of 10 meters, between Sakunami in Aoba Ward and Shinkawa, in the mountain stream where mountains approach from both sides, large and small waterfalls line up and the sound of the waterfall echoes around. Some people say that It was once called Bomeki Waterfall. It is also said that "Boumeki no Taki" refers to the largest of the many waterfalls. The name of Otori seems to have been born after modern times, but the etymology is unknown. There are many waterfalls, large and small, and there is a theory that the sounds of these waterfalls are seen as the phoenix's bark. Another legend is that the celestial maiden once descended and danced. There is a small shrine as these waterfalls are protected by god so please pay respect to that, and maintain the serenity of the place. Highly recommended, I visited there on 16th Jan 2022. Cheers Happy

An interesting style of waterfall. It’s just a very short walk from the car park.

To be honest, I had no idea it was such a relaxing spot. You should definitely stop by! As you approach the waterfall, you can feel the cool breeze and the negative ions, the sound of the waterfall makes you feel the abundance of water, and you can hear the cute chirping of Japanese warblers, making it the perfect spot. I would like to visit again in a different season.

When I looked at it from the observatory, which I had missed by driving, I realized that my impression of giving it an exaggerated name was a mistake.

Visited on 11/7. It's a pity that the leaves aren't as autumnal as I expected. A person with a single-lens reflex camera Grabbing a stepladder one by one I was there to take pictures.

Drive to Houmei Shijuhachi Falls parking lot and walk to the far end viewing platform on the right. It’s free. Come in early Nov for fall foliage.

I went during the autumn leaves season. They were starting to disperse, but I was able to take some beautiful pictures. I went on a weekday, so it was pretty empty.
